Lundstram will definitely be chucked back in...
Wonder if he'll stick Gardner in too.
Team selection will be very interesting.

Convinced Conlan is more interested in trying to look like a footballer than actually being one.
Tries to look fancy with an exaggerated technique, rather than playing the simple ball.
Really odd behaviour

You can't imagine the stats department came up with Joe Garner.
Pretty certain Mellon would have poured his brew over the statsbomb laptop on his first few days.

Not sure where to start with that.
I don't use this lightly but it was a disgrace from top to bottom, start to finish.
It's hard to apportion the blame across manager and players, but I'll try.
Team selection was odd, but I'm not even sure that matters when you play with tactics like that.
Equally, when players are that inept at basic tasks like not putting a ball into the perfect position for your opponent at every single attempt, it's hard to know where to put the blame.
Personally I think the wins we've secured in recent months are down to little more than poor opposition, grinding it out and a bit of luck. It was never going to be sustainable or progressive to play the way we've been playing and now we're being found out.
I don't particularly care about 'style', if an ugly approach is effective and we're good at it then we should crack on. But here's the issue. We're not good at it, it doesn't work most of the time and we continue to try things that make zero common sense and play into the hands of the opposition. This is where the issue lives, we have nothing else to fall back so where do we go from here when its clear it's not sustainable.
It's incredibly worrying that people involved in professional football can't see that lumping the ball forward repeatedly down a centre halves throat, not winning any first or second balls etc.. needs changing. Even more so when the players just blindly keep doing the same thing and particularly today, just accepting that we weren't going to win the match and some of them (including the captain) completely giving up.
Might sound dramatic, but it's all quite concerning at this stage in the season.

Well you’re effectively asking me to take the word of a random person on the internet. So yes, I want to see if you actually have details.
If you cared so much about keeping it quiet for the good of the club, as you refer to below, you would never have made the initial post in the first place.
File this in the bull shit category, for now.
Fair enough.

Is that because you have no idea?
Yes, exactly.

The club deemed it as something strong enough to go to a final warning, and he then continues to post stupid things, then it really doesn't matter. He deserves to be bombed out.
If the club don't want to publicise what it was (nor should they if it's an internal matter) then I'm not going to do it for them, potentially causing unwanted issues.

Go on then I’ll bite.
What did he previously do wrong ?
Q the “I can’t say”
It was a previous issue the club had to deal with and gave him a last warning - does it matter what it was?
Take the post how you will, but I reckon Reid is playing silly buggers undermining manager, club and misleading fans.
Rest of the points still stand.

Wellens had Devante Cole and a decent centre half who's name I can't recall ready to come in on deadline day but AL and Mo couldn't/wouldn't do the deals for whatever reason.

Tollitt, Gardner, Kurt, Dickinson
Gardner will see his deal out as he's always injured anyway so may as well take the money until summer.
Out of the above, Nuttall and Shelton, I can only really see anyone being interested in taking a punt on Kurt on loan.
Won't be easy to shift the rest given they're probably on decent wages for this division and their only real route out is probably bottom end who are skint or the division below who are even skinter (& also a massive ego hit to drop into the NLN/NLS)

I've seen first hand that he likes a drink, bit of a 'character' i.e. not the nicest of blokes and a chequered past.
33yo on the back of an injury with no club.
Can't imagine he'd be coming here for the right reasons but would be happy to be proved wrong.

I reckon he'll rock up back at Chesterfield.
Ignore that, I think our signing tomorrow is Dallas.

Rumours on the good old twitter have brought up Andrew Dallas again. Barnsley just recalled hi
I reckon he'll rock up back at Chesterfield.

I'd be surprised to see Kanu sign. More likely to see a free agent right back from America or a striker on loan.

Yeah, they'll go for Stockton again...
I hope so.
Interesting that Mellon has managed him before and was quoted saying he's not the type of striker that will press and run the channels for you etc... which is the opposite of the type of player we are looking to replace in Josh Stones.
His scoring record at a higher level might trump all that though.

'szn'?
Social media slang. Think it's short for season.
MY post was more around the fact he's doing his own private training and maybe trying to show clubs he's available.
-
Reid posted a video training on his own in non club kit, with the caption 'comeback szn'.
Doesn't look like his suspension is over any time soon...

Just what we need a player like Mancini, wonder what sort of contract he is on and if Hartlepool would accept a cheeky bid.
He's the only positive thing at their club by the sounds of it, they were singing for him for 88 mins until that changed to songs about the rest of them not being fit to wear the shirt and Askey Out.
Would take a brave chairman to accept a bid for him.

Would imagine there is more to it that just the Xmas day video. I'd wait a few days to see what comes out.

Clip on twitter shows Hogan playing him on ( while sticking his arm up appealing)!
It's absolutely infuriating when Hogan does this. He's often too busy making appeals than doing his job.

Didn't like Hobson on the left of a back two, Hogan no rightback, McGahey- not seeing what others are particularly pushed in to midfield with no legs around him, Green doesn't want to be a footballer, Sheron is so limited, Hope is generally below average and should have been moved on, Hudson shipping over 2 a game, Willoughby, Dickinson, Ward, Freeman, Shelton, Gardner, Tollitt, Nuttall, Couto have all disappointed and I'd be looking to move on.
Honestly I'd keep about half a dozen and they would be;
Norman
Kitching
Hobson
Raglan
Lundstrum
Fondop
Norwood
Maybe Reid and Sutton.
That's about a third of a squad that's cost us an absolute fortune to assemble with the biggest wage bill in the division.
No doubt about it some awful decisions have been made since the Rothwells came in and in any other walk of life heads would have rolled.
Can't disagree with much of this.
Full of respect for McGahey for what he's come back from, but he's certainly not the answer to any of our problems...in midfield or defence.
Mellon seems to have him as one of his favourites, but if we're serious about doing anything in this division, players like that (alongside the likes of Hope, Green etc) shouldn't be near our first XI.

Have debated even replying on this thread and following my own advice, but I really don't understand why people interact, respond or even reference this guy.
That's what he survives on and exactly what he wants. He's a cretin. Any attention or interaction keeps him going.
I would suggest we lock this thread now and no one responds to him again.

Transfer Rumours 24/25

There's absolutely no way this would be a direct swap.
I'd assume us being interested in Stones is unconnected to Wigan having a look at Hudson.
