Says more about the people fawning over the cockney Mo Lemsagam

Decent bloke, fairly entertaining, people interested in what he has to say and has shown respect to our lot.

It's fine to show you like someone for their qualities - rather than just call people cringe cause you think it's not cool or it's for some reason embarrassing to do so.

I’ve just got home- you’ve been busy I see. 😂

Eyrsey- the only fan who is more concerned with trying to wind up fans than he is about winning matches.

Are you taking your autograph book on Saturday? I’m sure Dave, John, and Franny will sign it.

Maybe, you could write Unsy a little message- something like, thanks for the 3 wins in 20- it’s reminded me of how lucky we are to have you. No one can or should expect better. . not all hero’s wear capes Dave- remember that.

Definitely not the only one. Good few on here and twitter who care more about being 'right', saying I told you so and tripping others up than supporting Latics.

  3. The most concerning thing about Unsworth is that despite the amount of signings he's been afforded and supposedly better quality than some of the smaller clubs, we are being comprehensively outplayed and beaten at the basics most weeks.

We are completely uncomfortable with getting the ball on the floor and sticking a few pass and moves together. Something Gateshead and plenty of other teams this season have found very simple.

It's a worry that the management team don't see what is blindingly obvious to everyone else. A team that can't put a couple of passes together, win/challenge for headers or compete for second balls is going nowhere. It's basics and a big concern that we are miles off it.

He still doesn't have a first XI that covers what is required despite a raft of signings and strong backing.  We're 3 of 4 midfielders short to compete with part time football teams.

Just not convinced they (manager and players) are learning quick enough to not be a mid table to bottom end team.

I'm not boycotting, I'm just not paying 22 quid to watch absolute shite. If that makes me a fairweather fan that's fine, I've seen us finish top half 5 times in my lifetime. Can't be arsed with it anymore

I think I am with you here. The fact that it is simply not worth the time and money, coupled with the feeling that your support isn't appreciated (at least by the manager and players), is giving me very little reason to be rushing back any time soon.

Plenty being released next week. Farewell our Canadian dream. One or two I'd keep but those worrying about the clubs food bill can sleep well.

Luamba and Porter included? Looked to be a 'bomb squad' all together in the gym the other day which included Leutwiler - Jeffers patrolling round to check if they were doing anything.

Hmmm, let me see...Chesterfield, third in league, maybe going up...or Oldham, bottom four and fighting relegation?

    No brainer, really.

Clifford maybe has a valid point.

You might be right, but it's not always as simple as that at this level.

400 quid a week extra is much more tempting for a conference player.

With the players he has it his disposal, he should get well above 40 points. I expect the 2nd half of the season to be much better than the first. Not sure how you know I still expect to finish top 6 with 80 points cos I've just checked and I have not said it...

There have been many 'shoulds' over the last few years that you have pointed out to us, like when we 'should' have been promoted from League Two. And we 'should' hammer almost every team we come across each week.

Unfortunately for us, time after time we see 'should' is not the same as 'will'.

  8. Managed to brace myself and listened to his post match in full just now.

As I feared before the game, he's too busy saying how good the opposition are to look at ourselves in the mirror.

Its a really odd set of comments bigging up the opposition considering we're playing them again in a few days. Effectively admitting we can't compete with them, proclaiming them a better side. Very odd motivation technique.

As someone said on twitter, reminded me of this...

  9. Given recent performances and his comments after the Wrexham cup game about us not seriously thinking we can beat them, I don't hold out much hope against a much better Notts County side.

Can't imagine the players will be going in to these two games thinking they can get anything.

  10. Similarly heard we are due 2 more next week. Although I agree the existing lot are not up to it, there has to be a point where Unsworth should be expected to work with what he's got as this squad size is getting out of control. It can't be healthy both financially and from a morale point of view.

After a period of time, it can't be used as an excuse any more. There are countless examples of a manager turning a club performance around with little to no signings. It's incredibly unusual for a manager to demand and expect a brand new squad to do so.

I can’t imagine DU or his staff would know much about this guy and he’s a free agent isn’t he so they can’t have watched him either?

If so it’s probably a recommendation like I believe the majority of Shez’s signings were and look how they turned out!

Not having a go as he might be a good player for us but If I was gambling my future on somebody else’s recommendations  I’d be a little nervous!!

We have a recruitment dept I believe, let’s hope they know a bit about this fella and the subsequent players being targeted by Unsworth.

That's quite a set of assumptions made there.

He played 56 times in 'Premier League 2' where I think Unsworth was managing Everton's youth at the time.

It’s made a rod for his own back saying he will have players in by the next league game. Hasn’t he been trying properly? And now he’s going to try extra hard. It’s all very bizarre. He’s going to look a dick if he brings no one in.

And if he's 'looked the players in the eye and told them' that some of them will be replaced, how does he expect anything from them in the meantime if we can't get deals done quickly enough?

    Playing with fire.

  13. Could he have done better for the goal? Yes.

But there has been tens of individual mistakes and personal shortfalls this season so far from the so called more experienced pro's and none have been called out specifically by the manager.

Bad form from Unsworth here, no need to single out Vaughan and name names cause he is a kid.

Unsworth needs to look closer to home at his regulars rather than call out a younger player who's expected to be perfect when coming on for 10 mins every other game at best.

Not having a pop at you but this “being watched” means very little. I was sat by a Preston scout in the Main Stand a few years ago - he had come to watch Fage. That didn’t come to much!  And some of us recall Andy Holt being “watched” by Celtic (when they were a big club) . Nada.

Unsurprising though don't forget many many club want Dylan Fage.
