  1. I've read a fair bit of this thread and i feel that there have been quite a few suggestions made by some which would be worth further investigation if the club were interested ! when i attended the forum at radcliffe school a number of weeks ago the main thing i came away with was that Simon Corney was asked was he in it for the money and he answered yes !! some would say well he's never going to make money out of oldham athletic ? and there right, but he can make money out of selling land or developing land in conjunction with others, well that's what there doing now FACT.

Whilst i acknowledge we probably wouldn't be around anymore without the TTA it is laughable that this thread goes on about the club promoting itself better and trying to get people to attend the games, there not interested because as i said earlier i firmly now believe that land development is far more important to the TTA so i hate to say it but i feel your suggestions will fall on deaf ears !

I also see a lot of discussion about the trust, when it was first set up to raise funds to keep our club alive it served a very useful purpose and a lot of people raised a lot of money, the problem now tho is that a small minority of people are using the trust as an ego trip and i feel it no longer serves the fans and has now just become in Barry a mouthpiece of the TTA rather than the fans.

What we should be worried about is what will happen when the land has gone, were in Failsworth and TTA are gone, what is plan b when we do have to promote the club to keep afloat ??

Rich you know me this is not a dig at you personally as i know you have the best interest of the club at heart but the person who represents the fans on the board let's you and other members of the trust down and the trust i feel does not represent the fans no longer as i'm sure this is represented in membership numbers ?

  2. As a long standing season ticket holder i won't be put off by what we see on the pitch because if i did that i would have stopped going years ago ! we support our club because we love it and yes there are ups and downs and usually more downs ! but it's not that long ago we were asked to pay more for our season tickets if we wanted to see a better product ! which we all did and the better product ? i'm still waiting for it ! So my point is don't ask me to pay anymore than i already do. KTF

  3. I've been standing/sitting in the chaddy since 1980 ish and although i want my team to gain promotions and be successful it's more about being entertained and seeing 100% effort from those wearing the shirt. So some of the managers mentioned in this thread i would have wanted out ie - Talbot, Moore and Warnock because there style of football was :censored:e, don't get me wrong it may well have served a purpose but it wasn't entertaining. Shez claims to want to play the game the right way and sometimes we try to but more often than not this season i've walked out of the chaddy thinking what a pile of :censored:e that was and your never sure what performance your going to get each week ! So we might be in the top six but can you really say we've been entertained consistently ? No it's been mostly dire !

  4. Yeah i guess so. I reckon that's the way that Windass sees it too.

It's a shame he feels the need to voice his opinions on that blog. It doesn't help his relationship with the fans. The Windass/Hughes partnership wasn't working but i don't think it was down to a lack of effort. The strikers really do feed off scraps. Against Bristol Rovers, Hughes was laughing at the start of the 2nd half with Liddell about his penalty miss. When Hughes got subbed he legged it down the tunnel. Windass was subbed earlier in that game but sat and watched the rest of the match on the touchline. How come Hughes always comes away smelling of roses but his strike partner gets binned off?

Maybe something to do with the 17 goals he's scored !

  5. So basically derek, you're saying they played well enough to win it, but didn't. So we shouldn't priase the players for getting a draw vs top of the league with 10 men for 40 mins and creating chances too. And being denied a penalty but getting a booking for a dive that wasn't (nor in the 1st half just outside the box).

You're becoming a parody of negativity derek.

A silly bit of name calling for anyone who's prepared to praise that performance too (happy clappy idiots?). Childish.

A nice little dig at anyone who didn't go. Ooh get your ticket stubs out. Being there doesn't make you right, or even make your opinion any more valid.

As for the "if you don't like it don't read it" - that's one of the oldest, most illogical statements to put on a discussion board.

All in all, yes, an attention seeking, self-agrandising post.

You may want to see football die. In which case why go?

Spot on real, i didn't really fancy us before the game yesterday after some of our performances in the last few weeks but yesterday the TEAM showed they are capable of being competative in this league if only we could produce it week in week out. Great day yesterday enjoyed it immensely. OTID

  6. It certainly was a point gained today but to be honest that type of performance we've been churning out for weeks, our midfield sit too deep and offer no support to our front two, whoever they are. The only way we were going to score today was with something special.

  7. Sorry chaps.

Unfortunately I am out of the country this weekend so I have arranged for the game to be called off on Saturday.

It has been a huge struggle to arrange all this snow but I'm sure it will be worth it.

You might as well start making other arrangements.

Shame on you Mark for double booking yourself
