Would have taken a point before kick off, at least we are off and running.
-
We have some strength and depth this year, hard to pick a first 11
-
Apparently, Linfield were runners up last year. Is there relegation in the Irish Premiership? Just asking like...
Yes there is relegation.
Being from Northern Ireland and watching the irish league games when I'm not in Oldham, Millar will do well if fit.
-
Rotherham have apparently bid 400k plus 200k add ons for JCH
-
Great result for us in both games, Warren ran himself into the ground and Millar scores a goal for the under 21's.
-
so feeneys missing again tuesday and saturday...think hes played more for ireland than us this season...
so what team should dickov use this week....
i personally would like to see dean kelly given a game, maybe tuesday in the cup match to see how he does, looks lively and could do something different.
also like to see smalley used as an out n out winger instead of taylor,he has more pace and looks a bit hungrier for it....
thoughts???
It's actually Northern Ireland, the Ireland team is managed by that Italian gezzer.
-
Very very poor game for us, Warren got on for the full 2nd half. Didn't do to much as we had to defend most of the game.

Comments from Liverpool manager
"I am absolutely delighted with the lads and they did so well against Oldham's virtual first team," McMahon told Liverpoolfc.tv"
There's talking up your own players but don't talk balls McMahon, he obviously doesn't know much about Oldham if he thinks thats our first team
-
I think alot of this is down to Gerry T with his Norn Ireland connections.
-
As a Norn Ireland and Oldham fan I'm delighted to see Warren sign for the Latics. Any game I have seen him at International Level he has always given 100%. Needs to play on a regular basis and he will be a fantastic player for the club.
I'm liking all this Norn Ireland influence at the club.
Feeney
Miller
McGrath
Big Gerry T

I actually meant Dowie . Maybe Ulsterman might be stretching it a bit...... but I remember reading his comments about his Dad being one, and how much he loved playing for Northern Ireland.
If it is these two, this would definately be a "no nonsense" regime....
I met Dowie a few times when he was Oldham manager, Dowie's dad is from Cookstown which indeed is in Northern Ireland.
-
One things for sure with Dickov and Taggart on board there will be no messing about by players on and off the field.
-
Being from Ulster it gives me great pleasure seeing the Northern Ireland influence at Oldham.
All we need now is David Healy to sign and I will be a very happy man.
-
Give the guy a chance, he hasn't even started the job and people are putting the boot in.
-
I for one will be totally behind Dickov if he gets the job.
What really does get me down is the amount of Oldham fans living in the past we aren't a big club and it will be a long time before we are up the leagues. People are on here slating staff members at the club left right and centre.
People have short memories if it wasn't for Corney and co a few years ago we wouldn't have a team to support.
-
Would you have him back on a 2 year deal.
I would - showed some promise before he got hurt.
-
No surprise to be honest
-
If Linfield's best ever player can't cut it at Stockport then I'm not really interested in any players at the club/
Doesn't help when you are playing in a piss poor team, and if memory serves me right didn't he score against us in the 3-1 defeat a few years back.
Living in Norn Ireland I go to alot of Irish prem league games when I'm not in Oldham and I can assure you the standard over in League 1 is 50 times better than the Irish league over here.
There is quite a number of fantastic youth players over here which I have told Oldham about, so personally I would love to see more Norn Ireland kids make the grade over in England as it can only help our National Side.
-
Excellent news, being from Norn Ireland it's great to see our young talent signed up on pro deals.
-
I'd pay close attention to whoever the bloke who watches a lot of Irish football recommends - you seem a pretty adept judge mate.
I have recommended a number of Irish League players to Oldham, one being Rory Patterson he has scored 40 goals this season for Coleraine and got called up to the Norn Ireland team.
Rory was on trial with Plymouth a few weeks ago, but hasn't heard anything back.

Keeper for me
-
Kirk Millar - A forward from Belfast, Kirk played for Linfield in the Irish Premier League last season at the age of 16. He has represented Northern Ireland under-18 schools.
Have seen a few times when he played for Northern Irleland at under 19 & 18 level, great player stood out when we played against Germany recently.
-
Colin Coates, NI International, not good enough for the (old) third division? Shome mishtake shurely?
He played 1 game for Norn Ireland against an Italy B Team back in June ,he hasn't appeared near the Norn Ireland team since.
Leeds where sniffing around him last summer but didn't take it any further.
-
I watch Irish footie on a regualr basis and any of the named players above would not cut the mustard at Oldham I can assure you.
Team v Colchester
