  1. Twitter feed dropped, again another massive PR blunder from OAFC not getting it shut down earlier, could have avoided some of the chatter around stuff other than football. Seriously how do we employ people to do this role, I have zero experience and could do a better job, heard we like taking risks, might apply next time it comes round, what's the worst that could happen ?

  2. No, what's naive is to expect that people act on social media like they're at work. ever heard the term "Work hard, play hard?"

Just because someone dicks around on social media doesn't mean they don't take their work seriously, and in the end from an employers perspective that's all that matters. Not meddling and controlling the personal lives of their employees.

In principal this is right, but when managing people/team it's not. You have to act proffessional otherwise how can your staff/players take you seriously? He's already at a disadvantage of not being known, players who had never heard of him, and they do what week and Google him and find that joke of a Twitter page, can't fault them for moving on if they do, and God help us get players in, no contacts, no credability either, 24hrs later and I still can't get my head around it??

  3. Actually I think quite the opposite and youth will have a big part to play next season and will be the main reason for this appointment. However can you imagine starting the season with a string of defeats!!!!

I really hope so, only problem with this is Kelly and Holden have no experience of properly blooding kids and know how to protect them, also negative football is not what young lads flourish in, need enthusiasm to be encouraged but playing across the middle with one up top I can't see working? When will we get someone in who just goes for it and attack teams properly, so bloody depressing

  4. It's almost as if they know more about him than just looking at his Wikipedia page.

to be fair no one does, most of us fans have more managerial experience through football manager and fifa!

Seriously though, anyone who says this is a good appointment is mad, this was the time were everything had the chance to come together, just needed to be positive, summary of next season=15th place, learning curve, low attendance, loan players coming and going, youth not given chance

  5. Makes me wonder how successful businessmen come into football and make these sort of decisions, very much doubt he'd appoint an inexperienced manager when looking at his company, so why do it with the Club. Until we get an honest transparent approach from corney, truth is we will never know. For all his positive comments during fans forums and radio interviews, he really shows no ambition for the club, the club needs some new voices in the boardroom and a new approach on how to engage with the fans and the community and fast!

  6. Took charge of some secret training, with the following opinion apparently?

"I asked Paul, in a private moment, to be honest with me about the lads and their ability and he was sincere when he said that he'd watched Oldham play a couple of times this season and he thought that many of our players were technically their equal"

Seems a little harsh to compare us technically to a conference north club?

  7. Anyone else thinking we wont be making an announcement until after the Everton game? Its clearly going to be a tough game and what better way to pick up the fans and players by making an announcement on the manager after? If we win, it keeps the euphoria going, if we lose, it picks us back up?

    Not a bad tactic.

  8.

Let the staff have a Bank Holiday off, others do.

Next they will be expected to open on Sundays and Christmas Day. There is, even with the already limited opening hours ample opportunity to purchase from the Club Shop.

Apologies for the whinge but I work in the retail sector and depite what people may think is no great reward for working unsocial hours

Do we need the Sunday Trading laws relaxed for the forthcoming Olympics?

I to have worked in retail and this is more from a business point of view, I'm sure if you were running your own business the you would look to maximise trade? I'm not talking every bank holiday buying just think what with the kit launch it's a missed opportunity?

I for one fancy buying the new kit but what with me working 9-5 mon-fri I don't really want to buy from JD sports, and as we all know you go into a club shop and end up buying other stuff, in my case I'm a sucker for a mug! I think sometimes we forget that the club shop is exactly that, a shop, any how it was just a thought!

  9. So far i cant see that anyone has discussed this. Every year there is always a team that charges into the top 6 and likewise 1 always drops into relegation zone. On current form is that team us? Whilst i admire dickov for attempting to play good football, when does he push the button and grind out points, as of yet he appears to stubborn to do this.

I like dickov, i really do but every manager has to recognise in certain times going for a point is nothing to be ashamed for??

    thoughts??
