Ive been a pro ev man for a while and I still play it sometimes but FIFA is superior

afternoon lads, invites should be out for the end of the week for joining this league, was thinking of using facebook (dont hammer me on this!!) for creating a section were fixtures are posted and put up along with a table, only problem is which teams to pick, anyone any ideas on what teams it should be as we have some different skill levels by the sound of it?

Some of you lot have too many XBOX points and stars....think I'm out of my depth....

dont be daft fella, once the league is set up (shortly) then all levels welcome, can only get better by playing against better players!

I think it's pretty irrelevant given that Penney has only been in the job a matter of months and hasn't done anything particularly worthy of sacking. The football hasn't been great but neither has his budget or his luck. I don't really know that much about Gannon other than he did pretty well at Stockport with a limited budget playing passing football, but Penney did exactly that at Darlo given a bit of time to sort things out.

this was not a penney sacking thing, just thought i'd ask for an opinion whether with the beauty of hindsight we went with the right choice thats all!

just read on sky he has gone from motherwell after relationship with the board broke down, i remember a strong following wanting him for gaffer before penney, anybody still intersted or happy to have avoided considering why he left motherwell (always thought he was an stubborn bugger!)??

Yes. Definitely up for this. But have to echo what Zorrro has said - 3 to 5 games per week is a bit much for some of us to commit to. Although given our OWTB post count you might find that hard to believe !

 

Maybe we could start off with a simple OWTB tournament ?

afternoon lads, just to comment on the 3-5 game idea, was just to get the league ticking over, so long as you can arrange all your fixtures to be played within the week then it should work, my idea was to have one night were we are all on xbox live maybe between 9-11 (?) and just batter out the games for that week, but i'm sure it could be tweaked depending on the amount of people interested, fixtures and league placings would be posted on here every week in case anyone was wondering

ok sounds like there's a bit of interest here, anybody know how i can contact the mods as this might need a seperate chat area? could trial with a tournament first and if works, step up to a league setting?

thought i'd post something different to change the general subject, any one running any xbox leagues with any spots free, either that or does someone fancy doing one through the laics forum, posiibley even getting the club somehow involved??(long shot i know!!)

First of all, just to state, I love the club, have done the last 20 years and this is not intended as a putdown!

Is it me or is there just a massive negative bubble around the place, its affected me as i'm struggling to maintain any interest these days, squad is the most boring i can remember, the ground that i used to worship is now a joke, even the website does my tits in these days, always seems to be about the youth team or the B team. Now i think penney is an alright bloke but the place just seems empty at the moment, even the tta who saved the club seems to be always going on the offensive and having a go at the fans, who in turn have a go at the team when playing bad (which seems every wek!!), its just a vicious circle!!

I just dont feel the club belongs to us anymore!

Please could someone give me some positives to focus on or i'm in danger of falling out with football totally!!!!

The only problem is, Latics are in poor form, Tranmere are in good form.

There's always one team that drops out after being there all season, on present form it looks like we fit the bill this year, not content with dirty leeds moving in, we have tranmere!! talk about kicking us when we're down

i agree but he's the one giving them the chat before the game and we dont seem to start that bad (of late we do!!), all this directed at shez but what about the players, surely they want out this division, just think they're getting off at the moment

seriously, what is the problem after we come out for the 2nd half of games

i agree, hes a good coach but he's showing more and more flaws as a manager

have to disagree about the spotting talent, either pro's who know the divisions or players at the wromg time of there careers, why are we not going below to non league instead of teasing fans with the usual premier league reserve, championship non starter, go down the divisions and take a punt on hungry players, one thing you couldnt knock dowie on!

as much as i'm getting dissapointed with shez, all the names mentioned dont seem to tick the box of instant effect managers, if we did get rid off shez, which i think keeping would cost us the best chance of promotion we've had in years, are we really saying these managers would come in and push us through, i'm not sure, maybe an older head might, but i just think we have no oprtion but to keep him and let him go in the summer!

Corney isn't preaching to the likes of you and I who go brother. In fact I bet they wished they had another 4000 like us who are Latics to the core and spend accordingly. It's the others in Oldham he is getting at, you know the types, them that sit in the pub claiming to have an interest in Latics cos they used to go years ago and that they're Oldhamers and proud.

I'm sorry but the above has really stirred me up.

I would like nothing more to go to Boundary Park every week but having a wife, house, child and with the ? above seemingly all jobs at the moment i'm penny pinching, but i put a couple of pennys to one side for a beer every other week to spend in the pub with the lads, of which i get sick cause i'm a tick, so what, i sign up to latics world, but the shirts home and away but i'm no good cause i dont go every week?

Getting :censored:e every day off city and united fans isnt enough, no, fans who cant go are being turned on by there own, cheers lads!

what worries me is that i say a similar discussion last season about this, and came up with very much the same answers, either a town centre shop (cost too much and wouldnt cover them!) or advertise in surrounding places like Shaw, Royton etc.

Personally i think this would be a better idea, may sound like a bad start but why not get a mobile van/stand and cover market days/fridays and get the passing trade, costs would be low for this and i'm sure you could get some lads/ladies from the college to look after it for pocket money.

But as mentioned earlier, we all came up with this last year, and nothing has happened, wasnt Sean Jarvis once responsible for all this, since he left who's took his job?
