  1. Bit of a reality check for me. There's going to be no easy route out of this relegation battle and while I'm disappointed that we didn't score or win, I'll definitely look back at that as a point gained.

Swindon were much better than us in the first half whilst the 2nd half was fairly even, but there were a few frightening moments towards the end and on the balance of play we were lucky to hold on.

Probably the most worrying thing was how easily they repeatedly passed directly through our 3 man midfield. It was a similar game to Swindon away last year except that our deepest player was a swap of Liam Kelly for Ollie Banks. Which says a lot.

Ripley - Reason we have a chance of staying up No.1. "Lucky" 13th clean sheet for him!

    Law - solid performance.

    Wilson - ditto.

Clarke - Reason we have a chance of staying up No.2. Heroic block on Ajose at the end!

Hunt - OK defensively, certainly restricted being on the wrong flank from an attacking point of view.

Fane - I like the way he pressed them, especially in the 2nd half. Questionable whether he'll develop into a competent player on the ball but he used his athleticism very well today and his attitude is spot on.

O'Neill - disappointing but it wasn't really a game that he could take control of. He's clearly a decent player though.

Banks - excuse me...ARRRRRRRRRRGGH!! The polar opposite of Fane! He clearly possesses ability with the ball at his feet and played a few good passes, but he's an absolute wimp who plays at such a low intensity and barely put in a tackle all day. When he does it's such a token effort that makes no impact. The question...is the moment of magic he produced on Tuesday enough to make him worth his place? I'd say probably not but the rest of the team is carrying him enough at the moment that it isn't a massive negative. I can't stand his demeanour though!

McLaughlin - probably our biggest threat going forward. A desperately needed injection of pace.

Taylor - a steady performance...which is a bit of a disappointment compared to what he used to offer. He'll be useful for our run in though.

Holloway - The only thing he sadly lacks is a goalscoring instinct. He's such a powerful and agile player who is surprisingly good on the ball. I'm a huge fan and if we get him the right strike partner next season we'll be laughing!

    Subs

Croft - not really a smart sub by Shez as he mostly had to be an extra right back which isn't a role he can do well.

Ngoo - didn't do much but I'm fascinated to see how he'll develop. A man-mountain.

Not the most memorable match that we'll play under Shez, but I'm so glad he's back.

Hoping to get to Northampton and I'll happily take the same performance but with a 1-0 win.

    nice summary mr bosh ?
  2. Oh the irony ?!

BBC Manchester doing a phone in on Monday. On twitter it's advertised with Crisis at Oldham? It's being discussed on the football phone in show. I imagine you've been in touch already to tell that what a waste of time it is and everything is fine.

I am worried very worried the steady decline is looking like this may be the year we go down. I see people saying we don't need to sign players yet as no game for x amount of days. oh so we don't want them to train together then these players we may have coming in has anybody not learnt at the club what happens when you leave it to the last min? Like we did at the summer. We failed to plan properly for this season and as the saying goes fail to plan, plan to fail and we are failing.

The facts are this club is in serious decline and serious questions need to be asked. Mr.corney himself clearly states when we signed the sports direct deal that we now attached ourselves to the bigger budgets in the league. Since then we have sold players and managers for decent money and all we hear isn't we have the lowest budget. So why is this?

The scoreboard again nearly a year onwards and I appreciate what the trust are saying but seriously people look and think it's been a year wtf is going on where is the bloody thing. It feels as though it's been nothing but disappointment after disappointment recently.

I would love it in a year or two your turning round to me saying I told you so because I want what's best for the club as we all do.

But seriously guys what's it going to take for action to be taken? What is going to have to happen for people to wake up and actually see the truth of what's going on. The football club despite apprantly having a bigger budget is being run on a shoe string whilst in the chief executive's words the OEC is flourishing. Isn't it funny how the OEC is up and running in the new stand and the two who want sod all to do with OAFC and Mr.corney are taking the profits from that. People say yes they will be paying OAFC rent. Let me ask you this if you had both businesses and the OEC is flourishing and your clearly neglecting the football side of things why would you pay a decent rent and skim off the OEC profits I can't say for certain course I can't but I suspect it will be minimal rental income OAFC gets from the OEC and whatever does come goes towards the building cost. It's just funny how the supporters bar isn't done yet coz I'd presume again I can't say for certain but with that being for the fans the money would go solely to OAFC.

I really hope the session that NNN is doing with Corney gets true and honest answers and no that does not mean answers I want to hear it will certainly be interesting.

What hurts the most is all the infighting between fans and the lack of any real passion or challenge to change anything.

Mcfluff rip this apart feel free on any spelling or whatever am done with the childish debates if you want to debate things let's do it like the adults we should be. Please don't throw out the gonand find a buyer argument either that's not my job and I think the bloke we have now is doing a poor job and could do a better job that's what frustrates me. I genuinely feel he is choosing to neglect us am not saying he should be pumping millions in but I do think it's a choice for us to be run on such a strict budget and that choice is to maximise the OEC at the expense of OAFC.

    Spot on ?????
  3. And who the Feck do we get in to replace him!? Likewise who do we get to run the club that won't screw us over worse than corney? Simply breaks down to do you want a quick and painful death of the club or prolong it?

bang on Matt, sack robbo, who the :censored: can get these rejects playing, one person to blame for this totall :censored: up of a season an that's that cockney prick S corney
  4. The guys he has called out can't win, I don't blame them for not wasting their time. If they go it's basically their word against his, there is absolutely no positive outcome. They get into a slanging match and nobody comes out of it looking good. The usual rose tinted specs brigade on here will be lapping it up, an they'll get slagged off for disagreeing with our great leader. If they don't go which I completely respect them for, they get slagged off anyway. So as usual Corney deflects the blame onto other people. It isn't their fault he is running the football club like a rank amateur. It isn't their fault he doesn't pay people on time and he seems to think it's perfectly normal to do this. He only thinks its normal because he does it so often. Is it their fault that the club only had a handful of contracted people over the summer, whilst Corney though he'd done a great job saving a few months wages. The guy is an utter clown, and is turning the club into a circus. It's only going to end one way if he doesn't go soon. If you're blinkered enough to think he's doing a good job, don't slag people off for speaking their minds and not wanting to be spoon fed any more of his :censored: .

I'd be interested to know how the Trust feel about Corney personally calling out fans on the internet. Did he seek advice on that one before hand, or did he just decide to throw that one in on the spur of the moment? Or is it the usual we can't disclose this information because it will spoil our great relationship with the club? It's a real shame because the people on here who post as trust officials do come across as really nice people, but it's just this kind of thing that the trust should be advising the club and leading on. To me it shows that the relationship the club has with the Trust is all one way. Corney does what he wants, when he wants, to who he wants. It's his club he can do that I guess, but it just shows he doesn't give a monkeys about our fans, other clubs, local businesses. The Trust need to get strong and start effecting some real change and make the fans feel like they have got at least some influence. The club can't continue getting things wrong, stumbling from one balls up to another and then brain-farting knee jerk videos like yesterday. It's not helping anyone.

    Top post ????
  5. I don't know how much we can take from this interview. An interview run by the club not asking the difficult questions that we want to hear the answers to. And by inviting the posters from on here to speak to him is a bit of a cop out. If he was feeling brave he would have asked Matt Chambers, Mike Keegan or whoever, someone with proper journalistic training to ask him the things we want to know whilst knowing some of the facts they're asking so they can call him out on the bull:censored: whilst having the gumption to not back down on the questions. (Not that I'm saying that people of here wouldn't for clarification)

For me its interesting that Brassbank wasn't mentioned at all, yet we all know that they are the biggest drain on our income. The bit that didn't surprise me for him to slate most of our fans, because lets be honest who is really happy with the way the club is run, yes its good for them to try to tackle the dwindling attendances with the offers and the season ticket deal, but this has been a recurring trend for the past 5-10 years and something should have been done sooner. 2006 our average attendance was 6,300, 10 years later were struggling to get even half of that on a regular basis. And we know that the season ticket deal was a massive cock up. The board sat down and 'probably' wanted to make it look like they were doing things to help the fans and looked at the run of games and thought 'were going to win 1, 2 at a push' and thought it was going to be safe for them to do it then. It backfired and we lost a significant amount of money. The bit about this that did surprise me if he went back to praise the fans. I feel he only did that because he had a PR person behind the camera and again this brings me back to the original issue...It was a club run interview. A Chambers interview would not let that happen, or if it did it would be reported. I completely get why only the easy questions were asked, its business sense, you don't want to show the bad points of your business yourself. Why would you. But as fans its not what we want to know.

To me the point of this interview was to make it out like he's doing everything he can, almost a woe is me act, I've been travelling, I am trying honestly. But is he really?? He says he is a fan, but is he? I think he's only saying this to try to and clear this. Obviously he has to say this and take an interest but that is because it is his business, all business owners have to take an interest in what they do. Personally, I think he is running us as a business, and a bad one at that, to put the money back into brassbank to help his mates out.

A quick google of the clubs books say at the end of the 2015 financial year show were have £50k in the bank with liabilities (i.e. the money we owe out) of over £9m. So it begs the question, where is the money coming form? It seems to me that the board have been banking on a huge cup run, like 2013, every year and as Simon said time and time again in the interview 'thats football' and they should know that it cannot be guaranteed. He says he's looking for the right man but the more you look into it I start to wonder if he is the right man or not. Looking at the same information for Rochdale show much healthier balances; over a million in the bank, assets of over 2 million and debts of only £750k. We had the Koukash offer on the table, and whilst I agree with him not to have took it, Koukash is mental and you only need to look at Salford to see that, it shows there are people out there willing. He'll probably call me out for that but I am not in the world of business, I don't have the masses of contacts but why should we have to when were putting our faith in him to do the best by the club. He says is robbo wanted the money for new players then he'd find it. But where from? We already have the masses of debts that we can't afford to make any bigger.

At the end of the day we put our money into the club buying tickets and merchandise and what not. We pay our hard earned money to go so why should we not be able to pass our comments. Granted early on in the interview he says he is willing to let people voice their opinions, clearly making reference to the situation at Blackpool, but the says about things being shouted at the manager and players. Why shouldn't we. We pay to be there and are entitled to voice our opinions. Don't get me wrong i'm not a boo boy, I will never boo a team of the pitch because what good does it do? But I will shout at the staff or players if I feel that it is not satisfactory and things need to be changed. They are grown men. They should be able to take a bit of criticism and their being paid to be there, if they don't like it then get out. By being a professional footballer you are putting yourself in the limelight and should expect criticism.

I also love the fact he's telling us what its like to support Oldham. WE KNOW. We're the ones that are there game in game out and have been for years, most for a long time before he got involved with the club yet he's surprised, quote 'amazed,' we come back. The fact he is surprised about that I think means he is too far unconnected with the club. So is it any wonder we go 'a little bit further.' He says: 'Its only football and some people need to get a grip' but what i feel he doesn't consider is we pay our own hard earned money to watch it. We choose to go. If you went out for a meal you'd want to enjoy it because you're paying your money and if you don't then what? You try and get a refund or failing that write a snotty review on Tripadvisor but you can't do something like that with football. So people are going to vote with their feet. If you have a bad meal somewhere, you're probably not going to go back to that restaurant again so until things get better on the pitch its not going to happen.

Personally I think it's too late for this season and feel we need to just write it off and start to prepare for next year when we will undoubtedly be in League 2. Bring through our youth and save money at every possible option so we can get ready for next year and give promotion a bloody good go. The you never know people might come back and enjoy what they see again.

Yes we know its only football but its our club and it matters to us and for some unknown stupid deranged reason the one thing everyone on here shares is we love the club and all want to see it do well.

    Bang on ???
  6. Robbo would have loved that.

Kept it tight and then nearly snatched it at the end.

    I was fkn bored...again!

Managers in previous years have almost been lynched for turning out that standard of football. Ronnie Moore was hounded and it was far more exciting than this :censored:.

I have defended managers and players time and time again with certain exceptions ahem special mention but this is up there with the worst in my opinion. We don't score and we don't look like scoring. No real attacking intent and playing for a point at home. Robinson will take us down and the apathy is overwhelming.

He talks a good game but he can go already for me. Yawn!

totally agree with you p1, season ticket holder an gave it away the last 2 games, went today and was board out me head on the attack front!!
  7. Having watched Latics non-stop since the 70s there is one thing of which I am now certain; this club is heading for oblivion unless there are quick and radical changes. I was talking to a couple of real diehard supporters after the so-called game and, after today, they have made the decision to stop watching Latics at home. They said they will go to away games but have vowed never to attend another home game. Why? Because it is utter dross all round, on the pitch, being ripped off in the bars, being treated like a child by stewards, crap atmosphere - basically nothing good whatsoever at BP. Now, it has been utter dross in the past but the difference now is that there is no affinity with the owners/managers/players - nobody. Therefore, nothing to "keep you there". By the way, it may come as a surprise to people running the club that there are literally hundreds of fans that now only ever attend away games. You need to take a long, hard look at the whole shambles of a set-up down there.

Believe me, if the 2 supporters I talked to are stopping going you have a real, serious problem on your hands because they have missed only a handful of home/away games in 40 years - THAT'S HOW BAD IT IS - have you actually got a clue how to run a football club?

As for the manager, I`m not one for constantly chopping and changing but guess what? You've appointed another duffer! Clueless, utterly clueless. We are so predictable, so slow, lack passion, lack skill, lack ideas and lack goals. At this rate we'll score about 20 goals all season - Mr Robinson, you're a joke - I couldn't give a damn about your so-called international credentials - without doubt, you will take the Latics down - any team that can only muster 5 goals (and one of them an own goal) in 11 league games are relegation certainties.

The happy clappers will respond with their usual crap - well, I`m not having it - I care a damn site more than you do, Mr Robinson about Latics - please disappear quickly before you destroy us and take the clown with his clipboard with you.

Simon Corney - I`ve backed you most of the time but, seriously, GET A GRIP before it's too late. The whole place needs a root and branch review.

    Bang on pal?
