My dream would be a Royle, Donachie partnership again
I'm sure this is what our management team is going to be next season.
but Gannon would be my second choice.
-
I would be suprised if Joe wasn't manager next season.
-
Hasnt really been many threads about possible new players so thought I would start one off.
want to know;
1. Which player would like us to sign next season and why (realistic targets)?
2. Which player would like us to sign and why (any player in the world)?
I think mine would be (only had a quick think so maybe wouldn't be my final choices)
1. Will Haining- Always rated the guy and think he would do a great job for us.
2. Wayne Rooney - Has the ability to do practically anything on the pitch and works hard.
-
Greegs has been a great signing for the club but I think its time for him to move on. I think he has had an average season and I feel next season he will be caught out a lot in this league.
I dont think he's past it completly but he maybe better off being a good league 2 player than an average-poor league 1 player.
-
I would like to see him here next season but I think money (transfer fee and wages) may stop this from happening
-
Yeah, agree with the other posts - one season too many.
Good look for the future Lidds.

Isn't this part of the problem? A young lad coming through labelled as awful and the target of the boo boys! Perhaps it is something to do with BP, I know another young lad who mad his debut at BP, asked to do an unfamiliar role and play out of position - that lad was John Terry. I know a few Chelsea fans who thought that he didn't have a great game but Chelsea didn't cast him aside as he wasn't a combination of Maldini and Baresi.
Why are we expecting the young lads to come out of little better than park football and be the best full back/winger/centre forward since that hulking great lump who played when men were men and you could get in t'match and have a bag 'o chips wi change from fiver and go home and beat the wife cos thats what we did in and they liked it too.
Can't we think - that kid has saved us a few grand and given a bit of time could either make us a few bob or help us get into the next league up? Is that too much to ask? Can we not give these kids time to grow a bit and find out if they live upto their potential?
Not a personal swipe at you goc - I am sick to death of hearing grown men who should know better riding the young kids at the game. Yes they've paid their money and have a right to be a pain in the neck at the only place they can but I just don't get it - after spunking north of £300 why be so antagonistic to their supposed favourite team?
No wonder attendances have dropped when even the fans say we are :censored:, the man in the pub isn't going to be inclined to get off his arse and get down to BP if all he hears is people moaning that the right back/winger/striker isn't fit to lace Oswald Twinklebottom's boots. oh who gives a :censored: anyway.
Spot on

behave yourself,if you think deane smalley is the hope for next season i'd give it up now, wingers are meant to get crosses in,but smalley just runs into a cul-de-sac,he ain't good enough.
Yeah I dont know why he doesnt just give up football altogether (as he 19 now and never going to get any better) and he is no way good enough for our world class club.
-
Bigfin scored twice!!
How did you post so bloody quick?
-
Sorry i dont see TTa taking us anywhere mate.
Joe i do have faith in,but the owners? Hmmm not sure.
We still have a club because of TTA! They have spent a hell of a lot on this club and I for one am very gratefull.
As far as Hughes, he was going anyway at the end of the season and Joe didnt want someone that was going to give half arsed performaces for the rest of the season
-
The club now have given up any chance of the play offs
I wouldnt have minded LH leaving in the summer but letting him leave now to Blackpool STINKS !
Why let your leading scorer leave now ?
The club can not now ask the FANS to get behind the team for the remainder of the home games when the club top bosses clearly have given up on this season.
LH hasnt been playing well for the last 6 weeks, granted but neither have 95% of the team
Why not let SG go out on loan ? He has caused more trouble than LH
JR might not fancy him but what if Joe doesnt stay ? The new manager may have loved to have LH !
I pay on the day for games and I will still go but my mates wont now, even if they only charge £5 a game
You dont let your leading scorer go without having a replacement, which we havnt got !
Poor management from the top to the bottom with this decision IMO
He wasnt going to re sign with us anyway
-
I would prefer them two but I think Joe will go for Smalley and Kabba
-
Im not bothered his gone, I would rather have Smalley and Lewis who are gonna give you everything over Hughes who doesn't give a s**t and was gonna go at the end of the season anyway
-
Hughes hasnt looked interested for a couple of games. Give Lewi and Deano a chance. It least you would have two players that wanted to play for the club.
I think it will be Deano and Kabba that will start on Sat
-
I really wouldn't be supprised to see 3-5-2. We are losing games in the middle of the pitch.
I would like to see Alexandra up front but I think it will be Hughes with either Kabba or Smalley.
I wouldnt mind seeing
Supple
Rubes Greegs Stam
Fabio Maher Whits/Smalley Westlake Taylor
Hughes Alexandra
or
Supple
Rubes Greegs Stam
Fabio Maher Taylor Westlake Jones
Hughes Alexandra
-
-
But then where do you put Alessandra?
To be honest, I've always seen Smalley's future as being a striker. Royle may well agree.
How about
Supple
Greegs Rubes Golborne/Stam
Taylor Maher Westlake Jones
Smalley Hughes Lewis
-
Mine last night was Latics related.
It involved a cucumber and the woman at the ticket office with the nice norks. I won't go on as Razza might moan about my 'armless banter.
-
No room for Deane Smalley in that scenario
up front with Hughes?
Supple
Eards Greegs Rubes Golbourne
Taylor Maher Westlake Jones
Hughes Smalley
-
Can't put names but know there have been because I've thrown despairing looks to the sky and thought where do people get the idea that we should be putting them in when there's no real evidence as to whether they can do a better job! Agree that maybe there should be that evidence but....
At times , on OWTB and the late JKL, the knee jerk reaction of some is/was "put the kids in". But then there's a few unsure games and the boo boys start, Eardley got the treatment when he was 19, Smalley gets it at times, Lomax too.
I think most of these people just feel that Lee should have been at least given a chance to prove his worth. It might have been a different case if we have had 4 midfielders that had been outstanding all season and didnt deserve to be dropped but our midfield has been pretty poor on numerous occations this season.

The Cheltenham fans seem to be gutted he's gone.

Edit: oops, missed Jonnys post (already posed the link)

I'm 99% sure that it was Shez's idea Stitch, seem to remember him harping on about how he was going to "hand pick" the opposition to improve the standard etc etc! If i'm wrong, which I usually am, i'll hold my hands up.....
You could be right, that does sound familiar
-
yes I would him back, always rated him
-
1) The woman at the office has cracking cans. I mean now the sun is out she clearly wants to give them an airing.
I was talking to the lads at work about this today after getting my tickets yesterday afternoon. I couldnt take my eyes off them
Shocking!

Rubes was the one that headed to their striker for the equaliser. The guy is a liability
