Have to say I agree, through all the relegation battles we have had in this league down the years I have never actually thought we would go down, now I'm convinced we will
-
Its funny how some see Corney as our saviour, the club has been totatally mis-managed since 2003.
The club has been totally mis-managed since 1991

The number 17 shirt seems to have been a bit of a cursed one since Scott Vernon, no one has lasted long in it, or been very good. Since Vernon from memory:
Richard Butcher
Mooussa Dabo (altough it can be argued he never wore it)
Matty Wolfenden
Keigan Parker
Warren Feeney
Josh Parker

The team has gone into a serious decline since Liverpool.
The loss to chesterfield was a massive kick in the teeth, corney probably is still having nightmares about the revenue that went down the bog after that loss.
The team is carrying individuals going thru the motions, the team is containing platers like mvoto who should have a red cross instead of a number,an accident waiting to happen everytime he touches the ball.
The manager is tactically disasterous.
I could go on,however...
We are going to be in a fight for survival this season, that much is obvious.
At the end of the season id get rid of PD,sorry, ive seen enough to realise we are going to nowhere under him.
His tactics, and substituions a times are shocking.

Even from a Latics fan that is a bollocks statement!

There is zero chance of us getting the play offs so people can get that silly thought out their head.
We will be looking over our shoulders if anything! Someone said we have winnable games coming up but didnt we think that with Hartlepool, exeter, chesterfield? We have very tough games like both Sheffield clubs, MK Dons, Brentford, Stevenage, Rochdale all away, Charlton at home!
When you put it like that I tend to :censored: myself slightly...
-
You're linking Hillsborough to what happened tonight? Really?
I'm :censored:ing furious at what's happened tonight. We should all be reflecting on what was a great performance against a quality side; on how the scoreline flattered Liverpool and we never deserved to lose 5-1; on how our supporters did us proud, outsinging the Kop for pretty much the whole match. Instead all anyone's going to want to talk about is the Adeyemi incident, i'm going to have to go into work on Monday and argue that he's always come across as a great kid and there's no way he'd make that up, and then i'm going to be going to the match in a couple of weeks trying to persuade people that Liverpool isn't a town full of racists. And on top of that you're using the incident tonight to sling mud over Hillsborough? Like a couple of dickheads shouting racist abuse tonight somehow means that it must be Liverpool's own fault that 96 of their fans died horribly and needlessly at a match 23 years ago?
Whatever was said shouted to Tom tonight was clearly disgraceful, BUT was the voice of one or a few pricks out of 38,000 to compare it to Heysel or Hillsbrough is just idiotic to say the least!! Whilst such comments should not be swept under the carpet they do seem to be taking away from the fact that a lowly league 1 side went to Anfield and matched those millionaire pansies ney bettered them for at least 40 minutes, our lads were like trojans tonight and 5-1 flattered the scousers greatly! lets applaud them and we can disect the controversy tomorrow!

Watching on line and I am so proud of the lads we have been magnificent!! Very soft pen in my opinion just hope the heads don't drop and we can get something from this game!!
-
Liverpool:
Reina, Kelly, Carragher, Coates, Aurelio, Spearing, Maxi, Gerrard, Shelvey, Kuyt, and Bellamy
Subs: Doni, Carroll, Henderson, Downing, Adam, Skrtel, and Flanagan.
Latics:
To follow...
We could well be in for a pasting with that team!

"Hughes Shefki Kuqi Kuqi would score more than 18 given a full season I feel, which Hughes failed to do"
I may be wrong but wasn't Hughes on 18 when we decided not to play him again and send him to Blackpool?
-
Well the club will acquire a new season ticket holder next year... I pay on the day since I work shifts so can't always get to every game but after missing out on the biggest game in recent memory the disappointment is such I've decided to just get one and I'll use all of my leave on home games!!

Evina's a striker accordin to sky sports news
He's also a striker according to our site on the player profiles... If we can't get it right can't expect anyone else to!
-
He's made some good saves, a superb one from a header in front of the Chaddy a few weeks ago.... Don't stop him being a liability and me having to put a hand over my eyes at crosses and balls into the box.
I have never shouted anything towards him, booed or had a go (loudly) at games but in my opinion he is not a good keeper, he's improved but I reckon there's alot better out there.
He's apparantly on a wedge so he's going to go.. I'd have a bet that he doesn't go to another league 1 club
Oh don't worry he gives me a fair share of coronary episodes too but we're a mediocre 3rd division club, I think we can do worse than Brill - and have done (Day, Blayney and Miskelly) I doubt the next one will be a world beater either unless we get a lucky loan in the Grant/Rachubka mould. Anyway, as pointed out, we digress, congrats on the contracts lads!!
-
I really hope not
Yeah cos he's been sh*te since he came back into the side hasn't he? Oh yeah, and he was in net when we actually did something this season too... Can't wait to get rid, let's bring Amos back!
-
Enighten us as to why feeney would not have made a difference today ?
Because, quite simply... He's sh*t!
-
"As a striker you need a run of four or five games, where you have lots of shots on goal, to find your feet."
They're at the end of your feet mate.
Don't you mean legs??
-
In that case my vote is being changed to Warren Feeney
I wondered where his one vote had come from I went for Lee
-
Someone else came back at the same time- Dean Brill.....
People slate him and he gives me a heart attack more often than not but so did Pogliacomi and he's one of our better keepers of recent times... For all his mistakes Brill was in net when we were actually good this season!!

I scared the dog cheering the second! I don't think we'll have been the only ones not to celebrate the pen, "there's 5 mins left yet...."
My pup was running for cover too! Let's hope we now finish the season on a high!
-
I'd forgotten what it feels like to win!
I only cheered once the second went in. Well done lads!
Same here pal!! Was very passive with the first... Went bloody mental with the second!!
-
A result that should see us safe if nothing else, well done lads!!
-
yes lowe penalty
2-0 Rueben Reid!!!
-
I was told by a very good source that he squared up to Kieran Lee and threatened to shoot him.
A latics player threatening to shoot?? Must be bol***ks!!!

I don't like my boss 90% of the time, or his deputies but I get paid to do a job so bloody well get on with it - footballers need to start realising that they are employees and generously paid ones (at any level) at that
