+1!!!!!
Just a shame he has burned all his bridges

exactly the sort of manager we need right now, motivator who can get the maximum out of very average players

Signing for Millwall on Monday.
Didn't he leave Norwich because he was homesick?
Would be very surprised if he didn't sign for a Northern club, hopefully us.
-
The 'We're all going to Hell in a Handcart' Stadium
-
Whaley would be a terrific signing for us, Championship class player when on song IMO.
-
Why would we want any strikers?
We've already scored 20 goals in just 25 league games
-
What a game just then between Wade and Whitlock - great stuff.
Think the Taylor/Lewis game could be a damp squid despite the best efforts of Sky building it up - fancy Taylor to win 5-0 or 5-1.
On a slightly different note anyone know the name of the blonde who does the walkons - tasty stuff
-
If Howard Wilkinson gets his way Steve Cotterill will get the job
-
Patterson was at Rochdale at the same time as Pat McCourt - now at Celtic.
The word was that he was talented but his attitude and commitment stunk - so he'd probably fit right in with our lot at the moment!
-
Which players do you think the majority rate post prem? I mean those players who have played well in an Oldham shirt not good players who have not done the business here. I would say off the top of my head.
Duxbury, Big Shez, Eyres, Wellens, Hall, Armstrong, Hill, Porter, Garnet, Serrant, Taylor, Wjihnard, Beckett, Hughes.
Im sure I have missed some obvious ones.
I don't remember Dux being all that good for us although I guess he was playing in some pretty rotten sides for the majority of the time.
-
i see what you mean but wouldnt a few games in january for us so he cane prove himself with the option for them to sign him permanantly at the end of the month benfit both us and him?
Personally I'd like to get him off the wage bill as soon as, free up some funds, maybe make the :censored: deal permanent?
-
Is there usually a lot of Town fans in ?
Charge to get in, just like the Gas Club
-
Anyone know what time it opens tomorrow?
-
a winger has to be a priority...
Afraid the money's been spent on a winger called Colbeck!!
And our neighbours Rochdale have got locally based, class act Whaley on loan flying down their wing for them
-
If not more. What a shame we didn't "break the bank" to keep him, instead of spending his wages on 8 full backs.......
Here Here

I agree. At the time of these managerial vacancies we had, these were appointments the majority of the fans wanted.
And well said
Wouldn't say that was the case especially with Talbot and Moore.
-
Im very confused now, if your going to take a chance on bridges might aswell give a go to o'grady, probably costs less in wages aswell.
O'Grady?
Please! He's garbage and we are well shut of him.
Blackman showed more promise on Saturday than O'Grady ever did here.
-
shez is at chesterfield, who lost away at torquay on saturday
Sounds daft but I backed Norwich for the title half hoping that Gunn would be sacked early.
He had a pretty shocking record overall and probably only kept the job as long as he did because he's a legend there.
Boothroyd or Robins for the job.

Oldham to beat Tranmere (Evens Stan James & Coral, 10/11 VC Bet, 5/6 Bet 365)
Oldham to beat Southend (5/6 Totesport)
After the wheels came off their promotion challenge last season, amidst dressing room unrest, Oldham Athletic acted quickly to install former Darlington manager Dave Penney as 2008/2009 drew to a close. Had the Quakers not fallen foul of the administrators there is every likelihood they would have been in League One this season so the Oldham board should be applauded for securing the services of a shrewd lower league manager rather than taking the backward step of appointing Joe Royle who struggled during his spell as caretaker.
Penney has used his knowledge of the lower leagues to make some quality additions to the Oldham squad, most notably Pawel Abbott and Rob Purdie from his former club and last year’s joint highest rated League Two player Dean Furman from Glasgow Rangers via Bradford City. With the nucleus of a strong side already in place when he arrived, Penney’s reinforcements have turned Oldham into genuine play off contenders.
This year’s race for promotion looks far more competitive that it did twelve months ago so Oldham may have to settle for establishing the foundations for a concerted effort in 2010/2011 and in doing so they should finish comfortably clear of both Tranmere Rovers and Southend United.
Tranmere Rovers came agonisingly close to reaching the play-offs last season, just missing out after drawing a final day decider against Scunthorpe United who pipped them for sixth spot. This cost manager Ronnie Moore his job and since then most of last year’s key players have moved onto fresh challenges including Ben Chorley, Steven Jennings, Antony Kay, Danny Coyne and Andy Taylor.
Consequently, new boss John Barnes has a huge rebuilding job on his hands as he attempts to prove his managerial credentials following his previously unsuccessful spell in charge at Celtic in 1999/2000 and Tranmere are far more likely to finish nearer the foot of the table than the promotion places.
I've already had a bit of the Evens we finish above Trampmere - i think things could go sour for them very quickly with those two in charge.
-
What's everyone's predictions for the season?
For me Norwich are a cracking bet for the title - gonna be very tough to beat especially at home a la Leicester and in Whaley I reckon they've got the best player in the league.
Throw in Holt and Hoolahan as well and they look a good side.
Leeds will be up there if Beckford stays, might struggle for promotion again if he doesn't.
Huddersfield have bought a very good player in Jordan Rhodes, he'll get a sackful of goals for them.
Bristol Rovers would be my dark horses, got loads of goals in them and if they tighten up at the back they could go well.
Down the bottom Stockport look really up against it, Yeovil haven't improved and Wycombe limped to promotion last season haven't really bought anyone of note.
Trampmere might also struggle, sold most of their best players and the management look out of their depth to me.
And as for us? I think we can again push for the play-offs but wouldn't be surprised to see Taylor on his way if we're off the pace come January.
-
Eardley sold to a Championship club.
Trotman in on loan until January.
Byfield signed on 1 year deal.
No sources, just a hunch.
-
Was in RRE last season but might have a look at the Main Stand lower this time, prefer the side-on view personally
-
Leeds, Tranmere and Blackpool for me.
Not all that keen on Burnley either.
-
Hopefully there's something in the Trotman loan move that was rumoured a few weeks ago.
Him and Gregan looked a good pairing in the few games they started together.
Something Different
