Just to get back to the facts,I drafted the notes from the meeting they were agreed by all present (pro Corney/anti Corney/pro anti Corney).Nnn had no more influence over the meeting than anyone else who decided to attend the meeting. In the unlikely event today's theory is correct it is sad that someone has to post under another name on here to get their views across.
IF he has- What a massive overreaction that last bit is. This was the problem at the time. The meeting was bound to cause differing opinion. NNN was consistently praised by the vast majority for his articulate, thoughtful approach. He got the run around by Corney, not his fault. I posted at the time; he offered to rearrange it 3 times, so Corney could film it as promised. . hey presto Corney chooses 'a very busy time, where all the cameras are in use' brilliant.
IMO, NNN got a bit seduced by Corney. Over time his tone changed markedly from 'I want to hold the club to account in the most profressional manner I/we can' to 'give Corney a break, he's trying his best. . . One of his last posts actually had a right go at the naivety of some of the questions emailed to him!!
Oh, so it's don't film it after all and ask awkward questions. . . Unreal.
NNN started to take things very personally, when in truth people weren't criticising him whatsoever- They were highlighting how he was on a hiding to nothing trying to get Corney to be inclusive. Corney tells us what Corney wants. As is his right.
The whole saga was a waste of time sadly. Nobody's fault, and certainly not cause to recreate yourself on a message board!
If he has. ?

Cracking result.

Fair reply but you clearly haven't been reading much of what I write if you think I am one of those fans...I totally get it. That business model is exactly how you've said it is. His supporters were bizarrely thanking him in the summer when at the last minute, we signed up the bare essentials any club needs to put a team out. But the answer isn't to starve the club of money. It's suicidal and self-fulfilling. Only thing we can do is make it ugly for a man with a massive ego. He hates it. It's why he likes to call people out in video nasties to deflect attention from the latest :censored: decision he makes.
I get that the goodwill is thin on the ground but it works both ways...if I stop going, I have no right to ask someone to put their money in and make us into a decent side. Or at least...to make better decisions and not compound the tough environment a club like ours lives in. I'll be there in-spite of him. More should be IMO (circumstances permitting.)
Fair do's.
I do read your posts, and I think we're very much agreed on the running the club.
My main point though was a reaction to what you said;
'if it's not worth the money, the club can't mean that much to you'
When I read that, I got a bit defensive. Of course the club means something to me, but in truth your probably right in some respect. I don't have the affiliation I once had.
I don't get a season ticket, because I work on Tuesday nights, so there's no massive saving over paying on the gate. I used to go to 10/15 home games a season, but I only go to handful of games these days for two main reasons.
1, I just can't stomach the football to go that often anymore. The games are dire. It's not the :censored: players per se, it's the utter lack of trying to win home games. I know we're mostly :censored:, I know we're on our arse, but I begrudge shelling out £30/35(ticket/petrol/pie&pint) without trying to win on a consistent basis. That isn't a reaction to just this season, I've been on the wane for a few seasons now.
2, I feel like like Corney is asking for blind loyalty, if I felt or saw that we were moving in the right direction, I'd be much more inclined to go. An I don't just mean results on the pitch. I mean communication and transpency, no I don't want to know what we spent on stationary last year. But I do want to genuinely know, where we are as a club, just be honest as you can with us. Unfortunately I don't believe a word that comes from the club anymore, the recent 'sit down' with the chairman was a farce, so that's dead. As fans we always we say it's our club. But to me it feels like Corneys club, and his alone. If I keep paying It's like I'm endorsing him. Right or wrong, that's how I see it.
So in summary, I do care. Just more from a far these days.

This is how it feels ______________________
Also, the picture they're using to advertise the season tickets is, yep, from an away match. What a club.

Simple math...
More money paid...more chance of better players and being entertained...
Less money paid...less chance of better players and being entertained...
If it's not worth the money, the club can't be worth much to you.
Yeah. . Your probably right.
That's why I follow all the news, and I still occasionally do a 40 mile round trip to pay £24 on a Saturday.
I do this Knowing full well I will be bored to tears, but with the faintest hope that it might flicker some enthusiasm. It doesn't.
I will probably keep doing that untill A, we score a goal. B, show an attacking intent. Or C, the entertainment at half time is so good, it negates the other 90 minutes of football. Then I might start going more often.
You seem to be one of those fans, that doesn't understand the different ways people follow/feel/support a club.
IMO It's not a chicken an egg scenario. The onus is all on Corney to show us he has some sort of plan for finishing above 17th.
This season is the same as last 5, his business model is very apparent. Scrape through on absolute nothing till Jan, then throw a few quid at it, give people something to smile about (a few goals and wins, (oh simon, you are spoiling us)just before renewals and do nothing till next Jan. If that doesn't change, the club will keep finishing 17th or worse, and the fans will continue to become more and more disalluisoned.
His days of relying of goodwill and backing from supporters are long gone. Time for him to be proactive and do things the other way round.
But he won't. So it's all bit pointless really.
-
Long term contract too isnt it?
Yep. Think he got two and half years.
To be fair, I don't doubt his ability, but surely he's got to address it in the summer. Not only doesn't affect his fitness, but I'd thought it would make him more injury prone?
Or will he do similar to Gregan, and just get bigger and better.

Been working all day, so not had chance to give my two penneth before now.
I'm a fully paid up member of the Happy Clapper Club but yesterday was shocking, worse I've seen since Shez's return.
I don't think Chris Taylor is as bad as some folk are making out, not the flying winger that left us but far from terrible. Solid and steady if nothing else.
Reckord is terrible. He makes Connor Brown look like Cafu. Brought my father-in-law yesterday, has season tickets for United and Salford City. He reckons Reckord wouldn't even make Salford City's match day squad, let alone their bench.
And i've always been a fan of Gerrard, he can clearly 'play a bit' for a League 1 centre half. I can't believe someone suggested earlier that he was their Man Of the Match. He's getting fatter by the week. He looks like a roundabout on legs. I'm 42 and drive for a living so i'm sat on my arse most of the time. Gerrard is easily 3 stone heavier than me and getting fatter by the week. There's no point in being 'talented' if you're too fat and slow to show it on the pitch.
I said to similar to my mate, I honestly could not believe how big he was. It's not an exaggeration to say he looked a pub player size wise.

May I suggest a change of name for you on this site. The irony is too embarrassing.
Haha.
Yeah, good call.

We are in a relegation battle. You are being a bit naive.
So are you; if you think the casual fan/potd will keep coming back if we offer so little going forward.
Relegation battle or not. We were woeful going forward. (Holloway aside) I, like Sinnot it would appear won't be back in a hurry.
It's just not worth the money.
-
A game we wanted 3 points from beforehand that became one we defended stoutly to get a creditable point against a better than expected in form Bury side...
You set of :censored:ing cranks....
'a better than expected in form bury side' ?
Contradiction in terms.
In all seriousness, it was game at home in which we offered absolutely nothing going forward, against a side with a very poor defensive record.
We've defended well for most of the season, agianst much better sides than Bury. So I expected that from us today. What I genuinely didn't expect was a Robinson-esque type performance going forward.
Competive largely dull draws at home won't keep us up.
-
The problem is some aren't having off days, they are doing these best.
Spot on BP.
They are doing their best, obviously working hard for shez. But we just lack a bit of quality, especially going forward.
Working hard - while important, won't keep us up.
-
I've got a horrible feeling we will take that last relegation place,
We just don't score enough.
-
My first game for a bit. Paid £24 for that. It's hard to imagine doing it again this season. Thought shez we were going for it at home????
Felt sorry for Holloway, who was so isolated, he looked totally pissed off second half, an I don't blame him. Why wasn't Banks subbed at half time? He was awful first half. Taylor looks a shadow of the player he was- have a shot Chris!? Why do we have a midfield when we're defending, but we don't have one when we're attacking??? As usual, we looked steady-ish at the back and totally toothless going forward. The only player with real quality in our front six is Holloway.
Sorry to say but that was a Robinson type performance, dogged, hard working, but very little creatively. I know it's all about results at this stage, but deary me, you have to show a willingness to win the game.
Shez will keep us competive, but will it be enough?? I'm starting to have serious doubts.

If the Trust has no effective input at boardroom level, and some allege is being estranged from any decison-making process, what is stopping it from speaking openly?
The very faint hope it may be included at some point?
If they speak out, they burn any remaining (however tiny) goodwill.
-
Get. The. :censored:. In!!!
My god, we needed that.
-
Looks like it's 2 from 7 now. Think Coventry and Chesterfield are spent.
I think we'll be solid till the end of season, but I'm still very twitchy that being hard to beat is going to be enough.
We desperately need a few goals. Here's hoping.
-
Are ex mangers like ex girlfriends?
Do you wish them well?
Or hope everything they touch turns to :censored:?
I'm not bitter.
-
3 things are a concern,
Our run in.
Our lack of goals.
How competive the bottom 8 are. (Except Cov)
Hopefully we pick up a few more ugly wins, and scrape home.
-
I just cannot see why anyone would put the 2 of them together as battlers on the pitch and not take into account the fact that 1 of them lost the plot off it.
They are completely different individuals who both play centre half.
Clarke is twice the player that Gerrard is and doesnt bring 1 tenth of the baggage.
Oh and he is our top goal scorer too.
I agree completely about there professionalism. Clarkes performance at Chesterfield when he'd lost out on a move, probably earning more money said so much about him as a bloke. However while Clarke has chipped in with some massive goals, I think there quite equal in ability. Real quality centre half pairing in this league.
But,
Clarke in his pomp. . . no argument IMO. He was the one defender for years I used to think I'd love to have him.
-
17th on 52 points?
Of course.
-
I refuse to get potentially excited about next year. Let's see where we in every aspect come August 1st.
-
We all know where will we finish next year.
-
We'll pick them up with relative ease and end up with Jamie Stott, Glackin and Mantack playing the last 3 games as we finish 18th...
Where have you been?
I've been waiting weeks for your calming tone.

a 5 page discussion about how elongating a persons name is racist? wtf the :censored: has happened to this message board!!!?
Poooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooom at Derby? EXACTLY the same thing....
who ever brought this up is a cuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUNT!!!!!

Agreed.
But what name calling did he get?
To my mind he was given a very healthy respect, (I read so many thank you's) and rightly so for was he and others were trying to do.
The points raised at the time, where if anything sympathising with the situation he found himself in. Having to balance what he could and couldn't ask. No video. When it didn't quite go to plan, he then IMO took that very personally. When it had nothing to do with him, the frustration was clearly with the chairman.
The idea that we turned on him, or he had cause to leave is ludicrous.
