  1. Mark Battersby is the lads name, was at Glossop for 2 seasons prior to Stockport. Gotta be looking to move up the leagues at the end of the season....
  2. "10 games in 20 days, that is where it could go wrong, maybe too big an ask, good luck anyway." Cheers, gonna' be a real test, the League would not extend the season even by a few days. This week they have to play Mon, Wed, Thur & Sat. i really think that's expecting too much from a non league club.
  3. Quick update for anyone that's interested. 1) Got to the FA Vase Final and will now play North Shields @ Wembley 9th of May 2) Still 8 points behind Runcorn Linnets with 5 games in hand. now have to play 10 league games in 20 days. (last game of the season is Runcorn Linnets away!) 3) Reached the NWCL Cup Final and will play Atherton Colls. @ Curzon Ashtons ground on Thur. the 30th of April. The treble's still on....
  4. Darren Sheridan played for Moss Side in the North West Champions of Champions Trophy semi final last week, he must be nearing 50 but still ran himself ragged. Moss Side won and will play Middleton Colts in the final at Abbey Hey on Mon. the 4th of May. Simon Yeo was also in their team, although never played for Latics he has played for nearly every other local team.
  5. Great achievement by GNE this season, 90 mins from reaching The FA Vase Final at Wembley, currently 2 nil up after the away leg with St Austell, Cornwall. 8 points behind Runcorn Linnets in the League with 5 games in hand & A NWCL Cup semi final against Bootle coming up next week.... I'd gladly settle for the League and Vase but the way they are playing i can see all 3 trophies coming to Surrey St..
  6. "Brilliant game, GNE can't be defeated this season it seems." Having a great season you're right, Vase semi final, League Cup semi final and still in with a shout of the winning the league but will be difficult to overhaul Runcorn Linnets 19 point lead even with 8 games in hand, so many games to cram in. "St Austell is some way to travel, good job its 2 legs" Yeah some distance, glad we avoided North Shields thou. I fancy Glossop over 2 legs to beat anyone at this level.
  7. Also 3-1 to Glossop North End aet. Went 1 goal down and huffed and puffed 'till the 87th minute when up popped Sam Hind (on as sub) with a rocket of a shot. Extra time was all about how many Glossop would score.... Now a 2 legged Semi final to look forward to. A great crowd of 1010 turned out.
  8. The Non League game of the weekend is at Surrey St., where Glossop North End take on Shaw Lane Aquaforce in the FA Vase 1/4 final replay. After failing to put the tie to bed last week (2 - 2) Glossop WILL make amends tomorrow and go on to play St Austell in the semi final. £6 entrance / £3 conc. Expecting a gate of around 600 (Avg. normally 250) All welcome if not travelling to Yeovil Edit: Not forgetting award winning pies with a new favourite SQUIRREL!!
