  1. Don't think the entire season will be determined over the next 3 games pal. Plenty to play for even if we lose all of them. I personally believe every team has a poor run of results at some point in the season and i'd rather latics had one sooner rather then later. Of course I want them to win every game but it aint going to happen.

I'd take 6 points from these 3 games. One loss isn't a disaster and these are 3 tricky games.

  2. Were never a free-kick. Trust me, I was sat directly in front of the incident in the RRE and in no way was it a free-kick. Davies and the player were battling for the ball and Davies never touched his legs, they were grappling with each others shirts but i'm pretty sure there was no contact between their legs. I thought the decision was appauling but just my opinion anyway.

As far as i'm concerned the linesman can fook his respect.

Although without the lino i don't think either team would of scored tbh. 0-0 all over it until they scored and it sparked us in to life.

  3. I think we might just have to face up to the fact that a large number of young lads have attached themselves to our club. They are silly little boys who seem intent on causing trouble however, Morcambe at home isn't the place. These seem like a new breed of knobhead to me, i can handle like minded football hooligans wanting to fight each other as they generally have a common code not to attack fans who aren't interested in the same thing, these little boys just want to give verbals and act like dicks to any fan. If they are not careful they may well end up on the wrong side of some people who they would generally want to avoid and if they are such big hard lads then i'm sure we'll see them at Millwall, Leicester, Huddersfield away but i doubt it. Grow up little boys.

  4. I was born in Rochdale but me all my dad's side of the family were Everton/Oldham fans but the local side were latics so me dad used to go watching them with his work mates who were all tics. Me dad started taking me when i was 5 coz i liked football and my dad really didn't want me to support United or City so he bought me loads of Oldham gear and took me every home game. Only good thing the guy's ever done for me but heyho.

The reason latics are struggling with their crowds at the minute is in my opinion a combination of poor marketing, high prices and a distinct lack of success. I still feel that the club could do more to attract fans who aren't convinced that it's worth paying £20 to watch a league one game, i know so many people who say they used to go but have just stopped because their isn't anything anywhere to say come to latics. I know it's a poor comparison but Citeh have a radio advert on Key 103 every now and again, they advertise in the MEN saying come down and watch us. I don't know if this would work for latics but the only thing the club have done in recent times is offering free entry to kids and a get in to the game for a pound initiative i.e Grimsby. This hasn't worked for latics as the gates have gone down to normal at the next game but it seems like the club has just said "well that hasn't worked so let's forget it". I honestly believe that more people would come to watch them if they just put it out their for fans to read or hear, get it in people's minds, it's a basic marketing techinique and i don't think it would cost a fortune as I've managed a £250,000 adverising and marketing campaign for a company over 2 years in local papers accross the country and it didn't cost much to to put a small advert in the paper advertising a jobs fair. Just my opinion anyway but come rain or shine i'll be there.

  5. No, we'd be knackered.

As cover we've only got Lee, Black, Stam, Taylor and Thompson that have played there at some point in their careers.

Lee is right footed and from what i've heard is more of a midfielder than defender.

    Black has limited experience

Stam is dodgy at LB at best

Taylor is a right winger who can play at left back but considering his form on the wing it would be daft to move him there would it not?

Thompson is right footed and hardly fills me with confidence given his previous injury status.

My original point was that all these players bar Black don't play in this position, i'm not saying we should sign one but it might add a little extra competition where there isn't any at the minute.

All could do a job but if we are chasing promotion than surely we could do with a LEFT footed player just to give a bit of competition for the spot?

  6. TTA after gaining years experience of football and football clubs since owning one are, like Corney says being cute in the transfer market. As a club and owners we have suffered from the tribunal system having to pay higher transfer fee's than our own valuations, paying out dead money to have loan players and losing out to cut and runners like Porter. This season we've built a more in-depth squad than ever before and all within or more or less with in a given budget. Phillips whilst a decent prospect is not worth breaking the good strategy.

I still think with this being the 5th year TTA want promotion aka the plan stated from the off!

I agree. We've got the biggest squad for years and whilst i do think another left winger would be good, it's not exactly a priority position. I'd much rather us sign a left back to give Lomax some competition, if he get's injured there are a lot of players who have to move out of position to cover i.e taylor or hazel going to LB etc...

Look at how much money we paid out for Beckett in loan fee's.

We could do with finding another Bertrand from a top prem team, easier said than done though.

  7. I find the, "Drink Responsibly," message extremely offensive and dangerous - supposing I don't fancy a drink at all, and there they are bombarding me with all this pressure?

    I meant no offense.

I do like these adverts that show the bloke covering himself in curry, kicking his radio, ripping his shirt and then the one where the bloke wakes up outsie a shop. I'm not being funny but if all this happenned to me the first thing i'd think is "must of been a good night"?

Am I an ASBO in disguise?

  8. All the talk of £27 quid putting people off that’s 9 pints in town on a Saturday night, its kack.

People aint going because they have different priorities and in 2008 if you cant afford £27 quid for an afternoons entertainment then thats a problem.

No excuses they just cant be arsed going to Eland road.

£27 Quid on Saturday to see two of the best teams in the division in the biggest ground in front of the highest crowd and best atmosphere of the day is nothing to pay.

I don't know what people expect these days for £27 quid.

    Completely disagree with you Kyle.

Take £27 just to get in.

    Travel money over there.

    Food/Drinks over there.

Mate, that's a lot of money for 1 oldham game.

  9. Just what I was told, like I say I was munching on a Hollands on my way to the pub at the time so can't claim to know either way. It's not really my game but isn't it common for both sides to claim they won in these encounters? Maybe you should appoint a neutral to be referree and post the results up, sort of like the Internet Football Association but for hoolies. Or if you can't find a qualified ref one of you stands aside during each half and judges it impartially?

You could have a panel and put cards up like they do at the lympics. 4.5, 4.9 etc....

    Drink responsibly.

  10. I loved that one from Wayno (in hindsight). Born completely out of frustration that we all felt.

Wellens v Trannies - rush of blood.

    KtF,

    Derek.

I recall a certain Mr Shez Swearing like mad at the ref at Colchester away on a Tuesday night and then saying he was saying to someone else. I think we were 2-0 down at that point but certainly didn't help.

I think Shez should be sacked on the back of this forgetten card.

    Shez Out.

  11. We are a different team to last season. We have much stronger players, natural wingers, we play passing football unlike last season and although we came from behind at Scunny we absolutely controlled them in the second half. Maybe Chester were poor but look at the quality of the goals that went in.

You cant compare last seasons Leeds to this season.

The thing is mate, you can compare the Leeds team of last season to this season. It's not hard.

I do think you have a stronger team than you had last season but so have we and we beat your with ease at Elland Road and were very unfortunate not to get something from you at home. You keep harping on about Leeds being stronger but so are we my yorkshire friend.

Anyone for an "I'm a Bastard" chant?

  12. Leeds are on immense form this season. We haven't lost one game starting the pre season and Jermaine Beckford is on fire. Ok we beat Chester who had also been beaten 6-0 by Dag but the quality of Beckfords goals have stirred up discussion not only in the championship but by premierleague fans too(check the MAD boards out).

We have now the best team in the league, we play passing football as opposed to Dennis Wise's hoofball and we are looking very good.

I cant wait for us to rip you apart tomorrow.

    My verdict

    Leeds United 4 Oldham 0

Just like last season eh. Hammered us didn't you?

  13. That really is the solution here isnt it.... The problem is the people making compliants instead of exercising a bit of common sense like your old man did!...

The only people I really symphaise with are the disable people. Again that is easy solved....build raised viewing platforms...seriously how much would that cost?

You don't even need to make them out of cement, just bang a couple of beer crates under each one of em. Problem Solved.

  14. After looking back I think that this might be just the dibble leaning on the directors coz it got a bit hairy for them with us and the wall fans having a go during the match. I think the TTA area just giving a bit of lip service and making it look like they want us to calm down a bit. All I want to know is what people deem "a little bit of banter" because for me, that was just a bit of banter. The only reason it got a bit silly towards the end is becuase the thick sods from Millwall rose to the bait in their typically over aggressive way, I can't see scenes like that with many of teams bar Udders, Leedscum and the bindippers.

I for one hope every latics fan who was in their on Saturday continue to keep improving the atmosphere like we all did and continue to get more like minded people around us so we can really get behind the team and have a bit of fun in the proccess.

  15. Well it is nice to know that I share a football club with such self centred, nasty, foul-mouthed, self opiniated, mindless holligans, spoiling for a fight in thei drunken stupor.

    Am I being fair?

Probably not but I was not able to attend Saturday's match because I lay on my sickbed hoping the anti-biotics worked. Thanks for asking but they have not worked yet and I am getting bed sores.

I can only go off your rants on here. The above although I am sure it is grossly wrong is what you sound like. Take the trouble to read back and see just how over the top you have gone and the poor quality of arguments you have made. Let me illustrate a few.

You all claim to be the lifeblood of the club. It would surely cease to be if you where not their.

The truth is that you probably are the section of the fans that costs them money in extra stewarding. If every fan did sit down and not swear or wind up the opposition crowd the money saved would probably equate to everything you pay to the club.

You cannot see why your own behaviour should be modified so it does not impinge on the enjoyment of others. These people may well be paying the same or more than you, but obviously you are far more important.

One has to ask whether you have come to watch the match at all, or merely to live out some Rambo fantasy. If you did come to watch the match you would be aware that the Chaddy End has sight lines that should make every seat carry a "restricted view" warning. Of course anyone moving from the Lookers Upper who has in the past tried the Chaddy would not wish to return there if their ambition was to watch a football match.

"Why did they pick seats in that area if they did not want to take part in swearing and throwing things?"

Well perhaps they thought these seats are central in the stand and likely to have the best view of the football match I have come to WATCH.

Your attitude to stewards is amazing They apparently manage to be over officious jobs worth whilst at the same time cowardly idle gets. Now I have no desire to justify the individual actions of any steward but these are minimum wage people trying to make enough money to see them through the week. The pay and conditions are horrific and few people would do it out of choice. They are not and never will be an adequate replacement for real policemen. No lower league football club can afford real police so they have to employ them. You are all big men in a large group but ask yourself honestly whether in a dispute you don't care about you would on your own like to go up to a large group of drunken yobs and confront them. Ask yourself whether you would do this if you knew you were being filmed and you had to let the yobs hit you first before you fought back. Ask yourself if you would confront them when if you get too injured to work the next day you would lose wages that are vital just to keep your head above water. It is not looking such a good job anymore.

Can you blame the club really for doing what they have to do to retain their safety certificate? Obviously you can and also th

row in unsubstantiated claptrap at Allan Hardy. He does not deserve the vitriol you are throwing his way. He has given far more to the club than a mindless hooligan could ever contemplate. No, he has not always been right and I am sure you have all never made a single mistake, but to doubt his committment to the success of the club flys in the face of all the evidence.

What you did on Saturday is not something to be proud of. It did not help the team. It means that in future the ability to make money will be severely reduced. We have been today drawn against Burnley in the Carling Cup. It could be our last appearance in the Carling this season. Had that match been a home match without your efforts we would possibly have been able to sell out the whole RRE. After your efforts we would have been forced to lose 500 seats. and have extra stewarding and policing costs. I leave you to get your calculator out to see exactly how much that would mean.

You will note that I managed the whole of this without a swear word. I mostly do. That way when you use one it has an impact.

Lastly and this will really annoy you. As I said I am on my sick bed and can only rely on an internet effects microphone, but for much of the match you were outsung by the Millwall fans. Perhaps if you had taken less notice of them and more of your own team I would not be able to say that.

Diatribe over get ready for incoming flack.

I forgot that if you swear and stand up you are a hooligan? I think I can say we will have to agree to disagree my friend.

I'm not annoyed at the fact we were outsung by Millwall fans, at least I can say I tried unlike half of the cardboard cut outs that sit there moaning about something or someone.
