  1. Makes it even more believable after seeing this: Ade Akinbiyi could be on his way to Leeds.
  2. Not good enough? He was good enough to score against us was he not?
  3. Hughes & Windass up front now that sounds a real rough house pairing! full of goals and ready to terrorise defences Unless Windass is in because Hughes is definately going? Still a massive coup when you think championship sides like Forest, Blackpool and Ipswich had all offered him terms
  4. Forgot about Banger (southampton lightweight?) yes he was like that but so was that tall Scot in the 70's Alan Young blimey some of the sitters he missed
  5. This bloke was Bolton boss when they had that title winning season in the late 70's, Didn't we sign Stevie Taylor from Bolton?
  6. We've had some great strikers down the years and Hughes is right up there with the best of em but hey this guy was once the best target man outside the Premier:censored:, Now let me see...........what Strikers come to mind Vic Halom...........................Cracking no nonsense goal getter Simon Stainrod......................pure class! a true Flair player Rodger Wylde..........................always liked this exciting forward Ooooooooooooow Roger Palmer...............................What can I say??? Graeme Sharp..........................Always goals with this fella Andy Ritchie.................................Sat behind me at the Apollo with his then team mate Gary Bailey when Numan was on, For me the best ever! On the other side of the coin, What strikers do you remember that couldn't hit a cows arse with a banjo? I'll start the ball rolling with Ian Olney or should that be Olmondroyd (or both!)
  7. No wind up my friend i'm from Oldham and was in the chaddy when Platt was in goal and Ding dong Bell was playing the ball out to Chalky on the wing So don't tell me the in's and out's of OAFC because i've seen it all before
  8. Small town club that has some Fans with a Man ure expectancy, take a reality check matey! Would you like to see the club go into administration or go about it the correct way by progressing over time with a stable foundation? There's far bigger clubs than Oldham in League Two, Bratfud being one of em!
  9. They're a pair of Russian quality controllers from the Sweet factory, as you can see their teeth haven't been so lucky
  10. Be honest about this, do you think Oldham have enough to sustain Championship football as it stands? Manager working on a shoestring budget, low crowds, best players about to be sold? Are we better being one of the bigger fish in the League one pond or the minnows swallowed up every game against teams with loads of dosh in the championship? Some might see promotion as the be all and end all but I wonder how many will be on the terraces if we get there and get a bashing week in week out...................... not many i'd bet!
  11. Hughes needs to remember one thing before he does leave and that's who gave him the ticket back into playing Football once more, I don't recall there being a massive queue of teams willing to take a chance on him back then, had it not been for the humility of OAFC he may never of played again. Whatever happens no player is bigger than any club and I wish him well either way but i'd prefer city to sell Micah for :censored:loads with the money coming from that instead of Hughes but then again no chance of that now is there
  12. Yes but he's not exactly acting like Morgan Spurlock is he.......................only eating ONE
  13. Both difficult things to achieve without the financies to back it up and even more so when your best players are linked with moves away, if Hughes and Taylor go forget the Play-offs and have a punt more on Mid Table
  14. I voted and was shocked to see the polls as they stand Here's my vote without the bracketed add on : Keep him, regardless if we make the playoffs or not. Question is: Who the hell would we get if you sent Shez packing? Another Ronnie Moore, Brian Talbot or Neil Warnock? VOTE CORRECTLY PEOPLE! you know it makes sense
  15. Players come and go......................................Loyalty? you're havin a larf After the Chris Porter incident I bet both the manager and board have little faith in that word
  16. Michael Shields in a FREE STEVEN GERRARD T shirt
  17. We've certainly got our fair share of 'cowboys' usually trying their best to sell any spare Tarmac or dodgy cladding and yes I myself never venture out into Morecambe or any other place at night........................................usually have my feet up having a cuppa The hotel that oa_exile is on about is the Midland and yes it's been brought back to life in spectacular style Before the work looking in a terrible state of disrepair following a full decade of closure and local vandalism Starting to take shape! And here's the grand re-opening on the BBC news, blimey! '11 Million spent' Just goes to show http://images.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=h...l%3Den%26sa%3DN
  18. If it wasn't there you'd be in darkness, anyway why the argument? you might not make it but I really hope so
  19. I'm from Oldham originally (born at the top of Sheepfoot lane to be exact) but now living just outside Morecambe at Heysham, I myself got an enforced free transfer from Oldham at the age of 2 as my parents went their separate ways, of course my Dads side of the family all still live in Oldham and I come over when I can but I can assure you that you're way off the mark with your ':censored:hole' comment about Morecambe. Yes there is one unsavoury area of town called the 'west end' which has suffered due to unscrupulous landlords offering multi occupancy to long term unemployed and this inturn has attracted the drug dealers but now it's being sorted as the council are block buying up most of these properties and shipping out the wasters who've brought the area down in the first place and returning these fantastic buildings to their former usefulness as joint owned affordable homes for working people who will maintain them as they have something sadly lacking and that’s a sense of pride! When you arrive mate get yourself up Broadway to the promenade and look over the bay towards the Lakeland hills then Just take in a deep breath of clean sea air and delight in the benefits it's doing for your smoke ridden lungs! P.S Go pay your respects to Uncle Eric whilst you're at it
  20. Kilkenny was/is a decent player and he seems to be doing ok at Leeds from what i've seen of him, I can see what you're saying about short term loans but all that matters is seeing off the top sides now while we have the luxury of these signings and the rest should take care of itself I'm sure this news will have filtered through loud and clear at Leicester and changed their managers way of thinking
  21. A few Leeds fans might disagree but i'm with you on this one! Shez has certainly show his intent on nailing promotion at this time of asking, the goals should be flying in against Leicester and back to the top of the pile after we crush scunny
