Actually, thinking about it, are we the most injury-ravaged side in the league? Seems we've been scuppered by important players getting injured at the wrong time for years. This season's a joke, but last season having Porter out for so long can't have helped either. With Moore's injuries added into the equation (apart from Rob Scott, which must have been a blessing), that's three full seasons of crocked misery we've had to put up with.
Priority numero uno this summer is getting a decent physio team in.
-
Anyway....endless discussion but there are very few differences, as I said, between Moores 1 full season and Shez's season with his own squad for 1 year.
Apart from the approach taken towards potentially difficult FA cup ties away from home, i.e. actually trying to win the game (and succeeding) instead of the genius tactic of attempting to force a draw with, now, who was it? Oh yes. Brentford.
But otherwise, mostly agree. Although we were only really injury-ravaged towards the end of Moore's season, whereas it's been pretty much an episode of M*A*S*H* from the word go this season.

Damn. BBC Sport website was being a bit cack this afternoon.
Oh well. It still could have been even worse.
-
Leeds could have won, but for a last minute equaliser from Port Vale. Bristol Rovers lost and neither Southend nor Walsall won. Like I say, it could have been worse.
Mind you, it was pretty dismal having said that.
-
Results could have been a lot worse today.

With Lewis's injury, that's pretty much season over too.
Same old same old with Oldham. Just about get back into the promotion race, only to feck it up royally.
How many more times?
-
I'm going for 3-0 Luton.

I'll stick my neck out and say however many there are, they'll be going away smiling this evening.

until slap head is fit!
I'm perfectly fit, thank you very much.
Oh...
-
Err, dunno. One a mate of mine is in down here in London.
-
Or anyone who knows him?
If so, it appears we have a mutual friend - you're in his 5-a-side team, apparently.

Like a few lines in tomorrows chip wrapper are going to make me change my mind .
CT - WOS.

Chris Taylor is a Wall of Sound?

Colin didn’t just sell Beckett to Hudds, Shez didn’t even put an offer in due to his injury probs.
As for the 50K we spent on him. 18 goals in half a season and not to mention the ones that kept us up a year prior. I personally would say excellent value and much better return than Porter.
The irony is that he puts us out of the cup this year and we are looking for a striker.
Oh and we didn't buy Colin Nish either -
Good points.
But I still reckon we won't go for it.
-
No chance of this happening. Once bitten, twice shy, I'd say. We paid something like £50K-£75K for Beckett as part of the loan option with a view to making it permanent, but Colin sold him to Hudds instead, so we paid the money for nish, basically. Can't see us doing it again in a hurry.

The best chance we had for years to get out of this division has just evaporated due to a lack of planning.
Hahahahahahaha.
Quality.
You didn't seem to think we had a very good chance at the start of the season, did you? Or after the first 10 games. Only way we were getting out of the division was the other way, if we'd believed the doom you were peddling.
Priceless.
Tell you what, how about we bring back Ronnie Moore? Will that make you happy?

The fact is Oldham is run by Old timers who wish to ook after the historical aspects of the town
Not if you count the market and the town hall as historical aspects...
-
anyone actually know what the capacity used to be?.
No idea, but I used to rattle around in there on the odd occasion when I hadn't got it together to get into the Chaddy end in time. Must have held a fair few when full, mind.

Left there in 1974.
My dad used to be the art teacher at St Albans around 1974.

Kets - he no longer lives in Derker, singing drunkenly obviously pays cos he's moved to Lees now.
The posh bar steward.
BTW, is that Brian as in Brian with the long dark hair and beard? Used to go out with/was married to/still is with/etc. Gill?

I'm sorry but I must really take issue with the catch phrase you have tied to Lemonade. The lead singer used to say "I'll just have another slurp" between numbers. We followed them all over the Waterhead area during the 80's and early 90's.
I think you'll find it was: "Shall we drink? Slurp 'em, slurp 'em, slurp 'em." followed by him necking at least half to three quarters of a pint of lager and belching loudly.
-
See, despite the somewhat questionable nature of the chant, there really were two Andy Gorams, weren't there?
-
Best cabaret act I ever saw in Oldham were Lemonade. Wonder what Tony et al are up to now...
Tony's still doing his stuff around the town.
He lives next door to my mate Brian, and is unbelievably different when he is sober.
"shall we drink?" is his catchphrase!
So he's still in Derker, then? Must see if I can catch up with him next time I'm up there. I used to do the odd 'guest slot' with Lemonade back in the day.

Haha.
I'd forgotten about Froggies.
And Smokies, although I always thought it was a bit cack.
