  1. The pressing early doors was immense didn't let a very good side settle and had them panicking. The shape never looked as good when we lost Wilkinson, then (as is customary) we tried to shut up shop too early. They probably could have got at least another goal but then again so could we.

Thought Jones and Mills were excellent ran themselves into the ground and while we tired (understandably with the pressing first half) the backs to wall effort was excellent.

One of the most enjoyable 3 points in a long time

  2. If we'd have beat Yeovil and got a point at MK then we would view this result a lot differently, however we lost those games by an 11-0 aggregate so its hard to take this result in isolation, it starts to look like a rather worrying trend instead of an unlucky home loss. The knock on effect of these games on morale and confidence could mean our season is over much sooner than it looked like it would be a month ago

  3. Threw 3 points away, no ruthless edge. May have been unlucky with certain things but you've only yourselves to blame for not putting away sides of that quality.

The problem is we aren't going to play poor sides like Yeovil and Crewe at home every week, we've returned 0 points from those games so it makes it even more demoralising to think what's going to happen against the better sides!

  4. Ref decided from the get gp he was going to let shoves and pushes go, !might not have been correct but he was the same for both sides.

First half showed we can't afford to make wholesale changes just disappointing that Johnson sent out the message to curb the attacking intent, I'm sure we'd rather have seen us concededing going for a 3rd or 4th rather than the meek way we did so

  5. Made the point after Tuesdays game he's the player that keeps everything going, always wants the ball and wants to keep the tempo flowing even when not everything comes off. In fact the only that has been missing has been some shooting prowess and a goal so now that he's got one it should give him even more confidence to kick on again

  6. Wilkinson was brilliant, just missed that finishing touch don't see how anyone could find fault in the rest of his game last night.

I also wonder how we would cope without Jones at the minute, not everything he does comes off but he always wants the ball and to keep things moving, the heartbeat of the team at the moment. If he gets injured or nullified by the better opposition of this league it will be interesting to see how we cope

  7. As far as i can recall he made one save from the free kick. people were saying it was a good save, but truth is if he had been beaten on his near post from a free kick we would have slated him.

His positioning was at fault to have to make the save which wasn't especially difficult anyway. This was problem when everyone was calling for a keeper change last year, he is a below average keeper imo, not terrible but below the average standard of the league

  8. Good stuff today, the confident play was still there but apart from a sloppy spell after the break the pressing and work rate was there in abundance. Wes was fantastic today and summed the performance up although Swindon looked one of the poorer sides ive seen at BP for a while considering their league position
