lol it amused me when the people the people behind me thought we were chanting ooh roger palmer, didnt have the heart to correct them though!

We wont do anything this season. We dont have enough firepower and are far too slow in our ability on the counter attack.
not many teams in this league have explosive firepower, certainly not on a consistant basis anyway! agree we need to be a little quicker in the final third but its something to be worked on, not gonna write us of just yet!

Sort of happy with a point, had it been early September yes, but just remember Wednesday have lost four in a row, a Southampton team that hadn't won for yonks won there, Carlisle won there recently and they've lost 2 on the road.
agree. think the team were in the mindset that it was a point against one of the big boys in the league but wednesday looked a really poor side and we probably could have taken advantage if we'd have been a little bolder.
it was a poor game in terms of chances and shots but thats because there were very few mistakes, we were quite neat and tidy on the ball but even though they have been on a poor run i expected alot more from them

misses saturday game he pick up a booking
not the worst game to miss, home game and M'voto stepping up his game i think we'll cope ok
-
Am i the only one who thought Tounkare got two bookings? One in the first half for playing on after the whistle had gone for an offside & then the second (which is the only one i can find any mention of) for the foul shortly before being taken off.
didnt see a card brandished for the first one, just a quiet word i think
-
think the game on saturday is a perfect opp to drop stephens for the bench, give him a breather and see what someone else can bring to the table

solid performance, cant help but feel 3 points were there for the taking though. Wednesday gave up just after the hour mark, looked dreadfully short of confidence and lightly dissapionted we didnt expose them to a bit more pressure. broke well a few times but fizzled out too quickly when we should have gone for the jugular. Sets us up for a good tilt at Orient on satuday though.
Ratings
Brill 7, Distribution still poor and needs to get the ball out more quickly at times but went about what little business he had to do comfortably
Black 7, Got turned a few times but is a good scrambler when he looks in trouble
M'Voto 8, MOM, solid as a rock, hard done to by the ref a few times when winning towering headers
Hazell 7, Also very solid, one minus was the booking he picked up
Lee 7, Not too much going forward but you'd expect that away from home, another competant performance
Alessandra 7, Bright start and some good runs, hopefully a run of games will continue to bbost his confidence
Furman 6, Quiet again but made a few solid tackles
Stephens 6, Also quiet, helped in the defensive effort but definitly needs a rest imo, not pulling the strings like he was early in the season
Jones 6, Not sure why every kick from the back goes to him as he isnt great in the air, a chance in the centre of the park might benifit him?
Taylor 7, Got into good positions frequently and went closest for us but his one footedness is still a big problem and stiflies his own attacks at times
Tounkara 6, Worked hard with little reward in the first half but was clearly shattered before coming off, still looks a threat though and will score his fair
share, espeically at home

not just set pieces its balls into the box that have caused us problems all season (saw it in pre season but hoped we'd have ironed out the problems by now), the good news is teams havent looked like scoring playing an intricate passing game against us but more work on clearing crosses is clearly needed!
-
is a bit annoying that everything is merged imo, decent deiscussions get lost in the nonsense of one thread

Do you not see that by saying 'diminished intelligence' and so on you are being a patronising ? He is capable to type for himself so let him defend himself! You just want to come across as a moral do-gooder. When in reality you come across as a patronising pillock!
true! not sure how its "sickening" to disagree with someone who clearly has enough interlect to post on the forum and type relatively coherently?

It's no better or worse than an encyclopaedia off the bookshelf. Nothing is 100% - however, as I've said before it's self repairing, and that's one thing it has over Britannica. Don't use info that's a stub, don't used flagged pages, and always check the pages history (this is a must). If I'm doing research for a project, I'll use wikipedia along with other sources. It's gigantic inaccuracies are a fallacy, it gets vandalised but it's soon put right.
There you go anyway...
encyclopaedia's at least have professional input though and while its true a self repairing tool is good for currency there is no guarentee its done by anyone with expertise, much of the referencing on the site is really poor too and is too easy for people with agenda's to edit causing a biased article.
im not saying its not a useful tool but you need to be careful when using it for information your going to rely on

if you want to take your kid to city regularily then all hope is lost!
from the sounds of things youve made your decision, if you havent got the passion for latics and look at the club through negative eyes then no one on here is gonna change your mind!
-
its reliable because people can delete things that are wrong? lol, but if you use it before its been deleted then you could take it at face value and have grossly inaccurate information.
is good for a quick check on things but must always be taken with a pinch of salt!

the goal was 100% brill's fault, he is a great shot stopper but at what point do the other facets of his game (poor distribution, command and positioning) render his poisition untenable? hopefully he can get a few clean sheets under his belt and confidence will improve the parts of his game which are lacking at the minute
-
"Taylor is on another planet, where is the player from 2 or 3 seasons ago, you don't lose the ability, but you can lose either confidence or motivation, or both?"
think its confidence, he's always looked lacking in motivation because he has never been a tackler, think he wants to make an impact but goes into his shell because its just not coming off
-
not bad to say we had 9 men for most of the game! furman and stephens hardly touched the ball going forward.
worryingly could have slotted this game into last years performances up to the goal, didnt look like scoring and one goal from a mistake would send us under. but was good to see the right intent from Dichov a striker on for a midfielder is not something we saw last year and as soon as we got the equiliser it felt a winner was on the way!
overall id be pretty sick 2nite if i was a bournemouth fan to get nothing out of the game (should have been game over but their striker missed a sitter one on one) but its the result that matters and winning a game we didnt deserve to will surely give the lads confidence going into 2 difficult away games
Brill 5 - distribution too predictable and always feels like a mistake is around the corner at the minute
Lee 6 - stuck to his task quite well
Black 6 - has to rely on his scrambling a bit too much when beaten to the ball but solid enough
Hazell 7 - predictably solid
M'voto 6 - improving, should be effective away from home, passing not his strong point
Taylor 5 - short of confidence, think he knows defenses have figured him out
Jones 4 - not really in the game 2day, maybe not fully fit
Stephens 4 - annonymous today, nothing going forward
Furman 5 - looked tired, not much going forward either, competent defesive work
Tounkare 8 - looks our chief threat by a long way still has a lot to learn but results rest alot on him trobling defenses at the minute
Feeney 6 - busy without creating much substantial could
Kelly - 6 - intent shown with his substitution, change of shape troubled bournmouth.
Alessandra - 8- looked a threat, but needs to do it more consistantly
-
a result like this was going to come sooner rather than later. we have looked very poor defending balls into the box from what ive seen this season (and in the couple of pre season games i went to) 3 goals like this conceeded today, needs to be worked on and improved on very quickly
-
hope we have 11 mares on saturday if rooney's performance can be classed as a mare!!
-
no wonder the attendances are like they are when people are moaning about having to spend 10p on a phone call when the club is trying to save them money!!
-
yea not quite the biggest scandel ever if its just no balls doesnt really affect the outcome of the game, much like le tiss and co and their spread betting experiment! but still quite a bit of a blow and very bad PR for the game
-
just because someone is entitled to do something doesnt make it either helpful nor right. people seem attempt to justify their actions because they have "paid their money" and while no-one can stop you booing is it really justifiable or helpful to the team to boo your team off when we have had a wholly positive start to the season bar a fustrating 45 mins against a stubburn defence happy to take a point off us?
think the action of booing in this instance reflects more on you than it doeson the team!
-
yep we have just lost the support, some have just become premier league/ scorecentre followers and alot make excuses for not turning out, always makes me laugh when the weather is blamed for a poor crowd, its oldham not adelaide, poor weather is to be expected! if people cared enough about the club theyd be there, think the attendance figures just show people dont care enough any more

great finish too
