I wasn't convinced that AL was forcing PW to play certain players in certain positions before but after listening to PWs post match interview tonight, I am sure that he is.

I suspect he was referring to referees rather than any interference from the owner.I know there are plenty on here want to blame  the owner for everything but I don't think last nights performance was as a result of any team selection from the owner.

I do however think that Wild is told not to play certain other fit players because of maybe disciplinary or other reasons e.g.Duffus,Hunt,Coke.

Let’s move on from the pen decision. Can’t change it now.

Thought Clarke and Iversen played out of their absolute skins today and if it wasn’t for them we would have been about 2/3 down at half time.

I think we could have won that if the chairman hadn’t picked the team today and we still had Sam Surridge.

Branger looked alright on the ball but was too bothered about himself ultimately.

The season is now over so no rush from Abdallah now. If fast forwarding to August 2019 was an option...

Love to know where you get your information. So the chairman picked the team. How do you know? You couldn't make it up could you?could you?

Branger played well second half? Must have been watching a different game. Yes he had loads of possession but what chances did he create barring his own shot? Nothing. End product so poor and he is so weak. Not been one to slate him but today was shocking in my opinion.

He created chances. Why didn't you see them?If there is a copy of the match watch it again.

I thought we put in a gargantuan effort today against a clearly much better side who've been doing very well a league higher.

Iversen Man of the Match by a country mile.

Tactics were clearly to contain them for the first half then have a go to whatever extent we could second half and it nearly worked.

Actually it did work until the officials did their thing.

I thought the ref gave a lot of bizarre decisions in OUR favour aswell as theirs first half.

Just largely clueless from the off - something seriously has to be done.

Try and find a radio clip (5live or TalkSport) of John Coleman speaking after Accrington's game where he describes to a tee exactly what we seem to suffer week in, week out.

Clarke's clearance off the line (which had more than a hint of offside) was a defending equivalent of Gordon Banks's save from Pele in 1970.

Truly unbelievable, especially from someone knocking on as much as he now is.

He was clearly hurt and for him to soldier on, get the equaliser and then get sent off for nothing more than letting their keeper "know he was there" was all quite incredible.

He's right up there with Gregan, Eyres & others on the list of greats who never actually won anything with us after today, if he wasn't already.

Sylla looked much more like the player it looked like we might have signed after his first game.

Assuming he's not that fit/sharp yet he could be very good over the coming months.

Branger arguably had his best game for us so far (I appreciate the sample size is small  ) especially in the second half when he was involved in everything.

Baxter was much better which bodes very well. Strange comments though as I did't think anybody shirked anything.

Nepo was quality again, even at left back - did WIld push him forward second half or did he just think "fuck this"?

All in all it was absolutely gutting to lose in the way we did but I thought we were excellent and Wildy got it as right as he possibly could given what he had at his disposable.

2 or 3 signings this week and I still think we can go up.

As an aside the Poundshop Hooliganism on the way back to the industrial estate was cringe factor 10.

I've never thrown a punch at football in my life but almost felt a need to just to ease the embarrassment for all concerned.

    Millennials eh?

    Spot on.

I wasn't keen when the draw was made. But that game was winnable. Lots of effort, some bad luck/poor decisions. A couple of additions might have made a difference.

A win would have been worth what £180k for the win, probable £250k for last league 2 team, good chance live TV money and at decent gate receipt, something north of £800k?

Still we've saved 5 months wages for those 2 or 3 additions that would have made the difference. Nice one AL

which 2 or 3 additions are those? As you know an addition doesn't necessarily mean an improvement.Facts, finances have to be managed,we do not have a big pot of money,We have to get the best out of limited resources.Have you got any spare money you don't need. You seem to want the owner to bankrupt himself to try to achieve success.

A really disappointing way to bow out of the cup. We were second best all over the park in the first half and if it wasn’t for the heroics of Clarke and Iversen, the game would have been over by HT. Second half we came out and had a go at them.

I’ve not seen a replay of the penalty so don’t know whether it hit a hand or not. What I will ask is how can a lino give that from where he is and why did both officials give a corner before Doncaster players started protesting? It’s no coincidence that this is the same referee as at Rochdale last year in my opinion.

In terms of performances, Clarke was superb and my mom. Iversen matched everything thrown at him. Lang was our biggest threat followed by Nepo (what is he doing at left back?). Thought Hamer did ok too. Edmundson’s distribution was shocking and must surely improve if he’s to move up the leagues. Sylla and Branger both poor for the most part.

Considering the lack of quality in our squad, we battled well. However we need quality reinforcements before the window closes if we’re to have any chance at the play offs.

Yes,we may not have the quality of some other teams,we don't have the finances to buy them, therefore you have to battle, and we battled well.We were not 2nd best in terms of winning the ball and we frustrated Doncaster for much of the match and we did create some decent chances.

You think so? I respect your opinion Pete. I think you’re a man of standing on here.... but I fundamentally disagree with you. I think he’s awful.....

The your thoughts are wrong. He had a good game yesterday.Football is not just just about going forward, you have to stop the opposition and he did that very well.He is good in the air and passes the ball well.

Branger can fuck off. Terrible. Apart from one shot on target so weak and fails to do the basics. Not good enough. Would rather start Robinson.

but he did create 2 of our best chances.I thought he had a decent game.Do you not see the defensive work he does as well.Their winger didn't get much joy from Nepo and Branger.

Explain that to me please? He has been an attacking midfielder behind a striker now for a number of games. How many goals has he been involved in? What has he done exactly besides a couple of close controls?

I see exactly why Wellens picked Jack Byrne week in week out over him. If Baxter and Gardner were fit he wouldnt get a sniff. Baxters back now, Maoche can go back to warming the bench.

You either see it,or you don't. Maouche has helped to make us a more positive team.Baxter has done nothing,Gardner is too backwards and sideways and too many passes go astray.

We don’t. I put the request in early this morning and we will get the tickets Monday. Though we do have to wait until we sell out the initial 3000 before we announce the extra 800 officially

Well done Billy, you're doing a good job keeping us informed, keep it up.

He's done an amazing job so far.

I'd leave him as caretaker for the next 4/6 weeks or so unless a stand out applicant wants the job, to see how he responds when things don't go to plan. No need to panic and make any permanent appointment IMO.

We know AL will make all transfer decisions in the window anyway so Wildy can just get on with the on field stuff and work with what he gets.

We do need to strengthen up front quickly though. With Surridge and Miller now gone we are left with only OG and Lang as strikers which I don't think will be good enough to challenge.

    Also need a centre half.....

We still have Baxter,Benteke and Norman and maybe Duffus .Wild is getting the best out of players like Nepo and Engone,so maybe he can get the best out of the others.

Be surprised if we go down this route again after the bright start Wellens made when caretaker and what subsequently happened.  It's getting to the stage where they will have to appoint him soon but it's a big gamble.

Wild is not Wellens.Every managerial appointment is a risk.

    You've got it mate.

We could have landed a dour trip to a host of Championship clubs without a guarantee of television or a 20,000+ crowd. Although not what we wanted, we've just seen the lads knock out a top flight club - whatever happens, we've got a memory to treasure. This is a game where we can play toe-to-toe with the opposition and it's certainly not an outlandish proposition to suggest we can win the tie.

I'll be there and I urge every last one who was there yesterday to get through.

Spot on,we could have had trips to Millwall,Swansea,Portsmouth,Gillingham,Wimbledon,Luton,so this ain't so bad.and should get plenty of tickets.

I have no interest in this game at all, what an absolute shocker.

One of the grounds I hate the most, it’s just a soulless bowl, this is the complete opposite of what Fulham was.

    Gutted.

It's the 4th round of the FA Cup and you have no interest at all.Oh Dear.Do you actually like football.

A draw at Fulham with a replay on tv would have been financially better, but hey ho! Is what it is

What is wrong with you lot, this is a winnable tie and Doncaster is one of the best days out I know. The place is full of great pubs. We're taking over your town again.

    Potentially. .

Your example is a good one, and I don’t disagree. I also think the overall distribution of wealth in the game is a joke- particularly through the academies.

However on this partcular point I think it makes overall common sense. The decision isn’t just about the rare or very infrequent lost income for league one and two, there is fixture congestion in all leagues. The championship and prem are quite rightly allowed a say on that. If in Jan/Feb we are doing well, do we want a replay that saps our league form?

I personally like the idea of having a prem side at BP in round 5  where there must a be winner. If your at that stage, you’ve already made a good few quid.

I’d rather that, than a heroic draw which gives you an energy sapping replay. Which the underdog never wins, and very often affects league form. The cup is nice, and financially good. (This won’t change that dramatically) The league is what matters IMO.

Yes but the big cup games are always remembered for years to come.
