Not wanting to be a party pooper, but we are all getting very excited on here, just like last year after we beat Northampton 5-1 - and we know what happened next.

Lets put it in context. Bury are the first team we have played above us in the table that we have beaten.

Yes, the last few performances have been a huge upgrade on what we have seen before, and this, plus the Lincoln game with 10 men gives alot of reason to be optimistic - but I still think it should be a very cautious optimism...

And we have only lost to MK Dons and Newport above us.Stop pooping.

It rather looks like he took on our club for the right reasons.

It rather looks like too much money was spent last year.

It rather looks like he trusted SC and now understands that his trust was misplaced.

I suspect he is having to put £200k per month into the club because all the season ticket money for this year went as soon as we paid it over.

As I have suggested before he has difficulty bringing money into the UK because of all the money laundering etc restrictions and proof of origin which would explain the late payments which were already a feature of this club under SC.

He has said more to us than SC did in his 14 years.  Slowly slowly it is then.

    Spot on.

No heart, bottles tackles, lite weight,  he isn’t cut out for real football. I’d have Gardner any day of the week

Gardner slows everything down and plays a lot of sideways and backwards stuff,Maouche gets the ball moving forward at pace and is far more creative than Gardner.

Missilou has been one booking away from a ban since the Cheltenham game a few weeks ago. He has until the end of the month to avoid a booking otherwise it's a 2 game ban.

He should not be backing out of challenges in order to avoid a ban.If he gets booked then so be it and he should take his ban.Lack of important challenges has contributed to quite a few goals against particularly by allowing balls into the box.

It's not just midfield - only Nepo, Miller & Surridge (on the rare occassions he's here/fit) seem to play with any real intent of creating/scoring rather than just going through some overcoached motions.

Overcoaching may be the problem, let then off the leash like we have done at times in the checkatrade and maybe we'll get better results.

I reckon there must be two players called  Missilou in the team and I’m watching a different one to both of you...

The one I’m watching closes down, puts his foot in, nicks the ball and also moves the play forward. Granted he also mistimes the occasional challenge and has had a few bookings this season, but he never hides out on the pitch.

So the one you watch hasn’t put in a tackle in a month and is MIA type of player? Definitely drop him then and just keep the other one in the side ?

That was the old Missalou,he doesn't put his foot in anymore or nick the ball and I can't understand why he has stopped doing that.I haven't seen him win a ball in a tackle for quite a while. He is certainly not doing what Fane was so good at.He is doing what other players have been doing, stand a yard off the opposition and let them run around him.

I wouldn't simply pick out Hunt for yesterday's problems. Attacks down both flanks put us in trouble and we didn't really have an answer.

For me, the midfield was the area where we offered little. Gardner apart, and he wasn't consistent, that's where we broke down. Yes, Nepomuceno got some crosses in, but the big problem was giving the ball away needlessly and not winning the 2nd ball when we had the chance.

I thought we liked pretty good going forward at times and Miller was a handful but, oh, those missed chances. We should have been 2 up before Miller scored and that would most likely have been game over.

As I said earlier, the substitutions were baffling and, had they been made earlier and better, we would most likely have come away with 3 points. That is down to Mr Bunn. Having said that, I don't think a change of manager now is the answer, but he has to get them firing pretty dammed quick or we'll soon be in real trouble.

The midfield is our biggest problem as we don't seem to have anyone who can tackle and win the ball. Missalou hasn't put a tackle in for about a month,Gevaro and Gardner hardly tackle. So we didn't stop Stevenage from keeping and crossing the ball.if we are being over cautious because of bookings and bans then we shouldn't be because this lack of fight is costing us.Clarke is struggling now and we need to get a replacement in January. Why are we getting so many injuries? This is a physical division and we have too many players who are not physically strong enough.i'm fed up of seeing Baxter being bundled off the ball as he was yesterday.

We played with 2 wingers and scored 6 goals!..did you take note of that Frankie, it was how the team you played in shaped up and notched a few goals?

No he hasn't taken notice. I've been told that he has not watched the youth team all season. They should send the whole first team to watch this lot, they may learn a lot.

Or like one ex youth go on to play for England and be worth millions (not to us though).

Excellent from the youth team with a good all round team performance and some good individual performances. The two wingers Robinson and Williams dominated and the defence stood up well.

I think Jack Williams is going to go far in the game,I don't see how we can keep hold of him-his balance and control is superb. This youth team are well worth a viewing.

Tell me why. Keep being an apologist for a cost cutting owner whose decisions are to the detriment of the team, it’s fine.

Do you actually think that Byrne's attitude is good for the team?Quite honestly it was pathetic at times both on and off the pitch last season and this pre-season.

Do you think our owner has a limitless amount of money?Perhaps he should go out and buy Messi and Ronaldo.I doubt you know anything about business or

running a football club or man management.

Oldham Athletic fan or Abdallah Lemsagam fan?

When little kids start coming to games it isn’t egomaniac chairmen that make them fall in love with the club, it’s mainly talented footballers (amongst other things).

Everyone else at the club wanted Jack back out on the pitch, Bunn and Rhodes especially.

    Your statements are ludicrous Ryan.

    See now that is better.

I have picked you up on this before; You quote the other persons arguments and take it to the nth degree. Then when challenged you back track on some point that YOU made.

He spunked loads of money on foreigners that he brought into the club who were never good enough, divided the squad and forced out Shez.

If you want me to carry on I can list at least half a dozen decisions on players that he made before the end of last season which contributed towards relegation.

Now he is pleading poverty. And O'Grady will be leading our attack on Saturday. Good grief.

    Same old crap from you.

I’m not sure ‘a plan’ would ease anything. If he says I want to consolidate and then push for promotion, but finds he can’t afford it- he’s not stuck to his plan. If he says let’s see how we go- it’s wishy washy- and doesn’t say anything. He can’t win.

It all depends on what you expect of him?? Personally I’d prefer him to under promise and over deliver, than over promise and under deliver.

It’s abundantly clear he’s not very wealthy in owner terms. He’s invested 3 mill, but really that’s not a lot in this context.

It’s clear to me that’s it’s going to be a slow build. Thats ok if it means we pay staff on time, we don’t sign not rights, we aren’t fighting winding up orders. We aren’t taking out scouse loans, and having one PR disaster after another. Or blaming the fans, and having an them and us attitude.

Give me a together club any day of the week, and success will come in time.

    Yes

No problem with your HMRC comment but you have ignored AL referring to the companies that have issued winding up orders which he has had to deal with along with other debts that Corney avoided paying at the end of his tenure.

As for interference in the team.....yes, he brought in players but it was Wellens choice to play or ignore them. If AL wanted to play Menig, he would have over-ruled Wellens and played Menig far more than he did . Relegation was purely down to Wellens's poor tactical nous, poor team selection and lack of man-management.

Agree with you about relegation and Wellens. After a good start he lost control of his tactics and players and was very stubborn.
