  1. Clever offer from Tramps. A good late run gives an optimistic feeling. If they don't make the playoffs or lose in the semis then the fans could feel that next season will be the one.

If they do make the playoff final (and the closing date is before it) the offer could give them Championship football ....

At 7000 it seems to be pitched about 1500 - 2000 fans more than the average number of home suporters they get. In latics case that would give a target of, say, 6000 ish?

trannies have also cut admission prices for saturdays game against yeovil to a fiver

  2. Whats up our Kid!!!!

    Sunday was a belting day.

Glad to see that Senile arl git's nose getting redder by the minute. :ranting::ranting::ranting:

Oh, btw, I have seen a nice Torres top for Nathan for his Birthday

    Janet

forget it,,,,,told me he wants a everton top cos its blue,,,,he said red is a sign of danger

  3. What actually happened to what? You mean the reason the team imploded, if they know the answer to this I think they should let Joe know pretty quick....

Cant believe there is any particular defining moment/Instance and I bet TTA are scratching their heads as much as the fans are... I think there are far too many reasons that all added together just shouldnt be happening if you are wanting a succesful football club. Reasons from players being pi** heads, players not giving a sh*t, players with bad attitudes, too many crap loan players, bad management, Player putting manager in headlock, court cases, star sriker going awol after January, star striker suddenly starts smoking fags, 1st choice Goalkeeper getting injured for 5 months, Dean Windass blog, most consistent player signing contact and becoming most inconsistent, bad ref's decisions, defensive clangers against Colchester at home - Brighton away - Yeovil away - Peterborough away, some players simply not being good enough. I could carry on..........

Anyway I hope Joe stays and sorts this lot out and come the summer I will looking forward to next season

    who is the smoker

  4. Not just to him, either.

Whatever malaise has set in, the source needs identifying and got rid of! It could be a case of just one or two players upsetting the whole dressing room or maybe the entire team has had their confidence shot and no amount of 'fighting talk' is going to bring it back.

i cant understand how a team battling in the top 6 all season, beating some of the top teams can disintigrate like we have done since jan/feb..is it down to all the loanees we got in who were no better than what we already got and some players getting miffed off cos they lost there place to a nobody,,,,did there attitudes change too,,(if thats what the club think of me,then this is what i think of the club.)...was it down to crossley getting injured at a critical stage of season...was it that 5-0 drubbing we got at hereford...what caused hazzel and eardleys alarming drop in form,,hazzel was first on my team sheet every week in the first half of season,,now i wouldnt have him cutting the grass...was it all down to sheridan,,,was it down to self belief,,did the players believe they couldnt compete at championship level,,therefore no contract offers for next season.............i dont know,,,,,but id like too

  5. I'd rather Leeds have won than Tranmere who'd of gone 5 clear of Scunny.

Leeds were pretty much guarenteed a playoff spot before today so there's no harm in them getting one over the dippers.

you wouldnt if you lived on the same road as me,,,,its full of the scum bags

  6. Who are these people ? Anyone on here a member ? How do you join ? How many members are there ? What do they do other than hold a quiz in the sponsor's lounge ?

Not being funny...these are genuine questions.

I occasionally see an advert for OASA in the bogs at the Chaddy End and sometimes see a small mention in the Chron but that's about it. I've never come across anyone who's a member.

i know some bloke called jeff is a committee member who goes in the old grey mare i think.not the same force they once were since the chairman slagged off the tta live on gmr when they first took over the club.he was soon removed from the board and i think banned from the ground.I think it went down hill from there but i might be corrected

  7. We know many are not going to be here next season, so who would you build the team around?

    Flemming

    Hazelll, Gregan

    Taylor,

Not sure we quite have half a core decent side at the moment. And to me we need to look at each case, but Defence and striker are most critical. We concede sloppy goals and miss too many easier chances.

The rest need to be filled with better than we have already, I believe. WIth some good backup/to be developed. Others might make a case in the next few games such as Lee, Smalley. etc

my team would be built around graham kavanagh, not sure if he is still at carlisle or not but when he was here earlier in the season he put a masterclass performance in..he made a very ordinary side look good.he dictates the pace of the game and is able to find that killer pass..If i was gaffer i would find 2 graffters either side of him in the middle of the park and 2 good forwards looking for that through ball..alexandra and wolfy are either fighting a long punt from gregan or eardly and they seem to play with their backs to goal all game(not their fault if not getting right service).love to see a good right winger because there isnt a lot of good left backs about at the moment and its a possible source of supply to the forwards.got to get rid of hazell,we cant keep on conceding goals like we do and replace him with a 6ft3 centre half.stam would go as well,,doesnt look the same player since that bad injury.Iwant to see my full backs overlapping especially at home. All the goalkeepers on the books lack height,i would get a 6ft 3 keeper in straight away..I would play taylor in the hole between the forwards and the midfield linking up with kavanagh,he would be a great threat from there..i dont see him as an out and out forward,i cant see him scoring enough goals,he is better running at players.

  8. They don't run the club no but we are in a better position to have them with a foot in the door rather than on the outside where it is easier to keep things from them as shareholders of OAFC 2004 LTD they would know of the club being sold before it was in the public domain.

so if they knew the club was about to be sold before anybody else,,,,,,what difference would that make to anything

  9. The relationship between the club and the trust so far has enabled the trust to buy into the club, £200,000 was given for this right and a place on the board was given in accordance with this share buy.

The fans representive on the board ensures that the fans voice is heard on matters including Season Ticket prices, Stand Allocation (Family enclosed area in Chaddy) Police liasion when fans get into trouble.

The Trust have bought a £20k mini bus for the club which enable the Youth team and reserves to travel to College, Training Games and when needed other venues.

The trust this season bought the club a Tractor to ensure the groundstaff had the equipment to do their job with the main pitch, little wembley and Chappel Road. The last tractor was bought in 1982 !!!!

The trust continue to support the team with sponsorship of staff and players, help organise tournaments for the youth team.

The Trust attend and help with the Oldham Athletic in the Community project that won an award this month.. (Presentation was made on the pitch at yesterdays game)

The trust do a lot of work on behalf of the club, Bringing players to the club, Lucke Beckett (goals helped us avoid relegation) Lee Hughes and others.

I could name more but I'm now hoping you get the idea that the Trust is important to the Club not just today but for tomorrow!

excellent,,,,,,,,thats what i needed to know,,,,,thanks for that

  10. Right, so the trust step aside

a new investor comes in, splashes the cash, we don’t get promoted, he puts up ticket prices, the crowds drop, he gets bored and buggers off... = a very bleak future (if there is one) for the club...

My view is that the trust are there to make sure this doesn’t happen.

    What’s the problem with that?

    what a load of ollocks..........

so the trust dont step aside and they give their approval of a new man...

how does the trust make sure none of those points u make dont happen

    are they magicians or something

  11. Why you shouting ??

Can I ask you somethings, Do you know anything about the Trust? Do you know how hard many people worked to ensure that money was rasied to help secure the future of the club ?

In regards why the trust is so important, only time will tell, I think the best explaination of this is why was Alan Hardy suspended when he realised what Chris Moore was up to !

Trust Oldham and Hardy continue to this day, to ask questions and help the owners with the club and ensure fans have a voice and are informed of what is happening unlike several clubs at the moment namely Charlton and Southampton.

id like to thank you for your efforts when it was needed

  12. Don't get me wrong, i'm not even a member of the trust, but having a fans voice on the board can only be a good thing. If an investor wants to come in and get rid of that 'voice' with a 100% holding, then alarm bells would start ringing.

yes but what does this voice do or say..can somebody give me a couple of reasons when the trust have been inflential in changing or making a decision...i might beable to see the importance of the trust when somebody gives me a valid responce as to what they actually do

  13. Yes we tell him to sod off alright!!!!!!!!

Anyone coming in must prove they can last and have the business plan to ensure the clubs FUTURE

I want to bring my grand kids to a game in 40 years time !!!

The club isnt just for Xmas or a year ... Its for life

ok you would tell him to sod off...but going back to the chris moore days...if at the time the trust were on the board and he came in to save our club,,,bankroll us...would you have told him to sod off..he came with the utmost respect...md of a massive uk business...pots of dosh...he even had an helicopter...what im saying is how would you know that he would be the wrong man
