this is fast approaching to be one of the most critical stages this club has ever had.
with all the experienced players gone and imo rightly so,its going to be a very short summer for dp to get a team together that is gonna gel for the start of the season
out of the current crop thats left at the club i can only see 4 or maybe 5 of them getting in the team,so this leaves 6 players who will have to be signed and formed into some sort of a team,,and this includes a new club captain
we are looking at a brand new team to start the season and if dp doesnt get the correct players in,
then the season could be over before its begun
im a little sceptical if all the experienced players should have been off loaded at the same time although i agree those who have been released, should have,,,,but all at the same time?
dp has my full support and i just hope hes got what it takes to bring all these players together in such a short space of time
looking forward to the new season,,but just a little concerned

Ah never a dull day being a latics fan
god wait till the signings start
how many i dont want him are there gonna be
-
I agree they might have more funds than others, but they have done also for the past few seasons they have been in this league too. I personally think Scunthorpe will go up.
i hope its millwall
hate going there
lets get them out of this division
-
I have just had a reply off Stu Vose who wasnt happy that I was asking for my winnings after I said Millwall would beat Leeds
Stu has been away for a few days
Maybe someone was in a rush to type the article ??
thought so

If this is just a balls up then they should issue and apology and review their controls on what gets published...
totally agree.....all im saying there is no official quote from a member of the board and i just think its probably all taken out of text

trying to defend the club here a little
pheraps whoever wrote the article wasnt aware the club had told steffan not to bother going to the meeting
they have simply seen steffan wasnt there and reported this in a way that the player didnt give a toss
there is no official statement from tta or dave penney or alan hardy saying steffan was excused from attending and im hoping the reporter was miss informed and everyone concerned has got the wrong end of the stick
i would imagine with the club pleading for supporters to buy season tickets the last thing they would want right now is bad publicity

wonder if its an improved offer or even less than the last offer

How many did he start?
How many did he play as the link man between the midfield and Hughes (easily his best position)?
How many did we concede in those games where he played in his best position?
Our midfield was far better defensively and as an attacking force for having Lewis Alessandra play in behind Hughes. He was the outlet we needed to take the pressure off and retain possession. He was the outlet that gave Whitaker room to get forward and contribute with goals.
We got more goals, conceded fewer goals and got more points on the board for it.
Left out v Stockport away and it went wrong.
Brought back v Scunny, scored hat-trick.
Bad team performance next game v Yeovil, Alessandra gets dropped for it. Solution: Ormerod, Byfield, Windass etc.
Since then, occasional sub appearance, played as loan striker etc etc. Lambasted when the worm tackled him at Leicester.
The team worked better when he started. Shez would still have a job had he stuck with Alessandra and we'd be playing a game this week where the right result would have been taking us to Wembley.
its been said before,,,,,his attitude stinks,,,maybe this was the reason for him being left out
not defended shez much but i hope this was the reason he left him out
what would the rest of the squad thought if shez let this kid take the pee

brilliant goal

great goal by patterson of burnley
-
Was he sat right at the front? In the block next to the family section? Can I nominate Leezy's attempt to hit the crossbar with his big boots on (not that it was the worse attempt mind just it was funny to see him do it with those big boots on).
no sorry,,,,going back many a year

guy reading his paper in the chaddy while teams were warming up
forget who shot but it ended up smacking this bloke full on in his face
-
brian kilkline attempting to defend
-
Despite the fact that he would not have to move to join norwich
and they could pay him an awful lot more than we ever could
and the fact that they are much better equipped than us resource wise to have a crack at promotion?
plus they have sold 18000 season tickets already for next season
-
big fat sol taking his place in the chaddy and getting a chorus of roll out the barrel...he would then charge into them all and about 100 kids would disperse---------happy days
