  1. There have been a million and one ways to thank supporters this season. Walking round clapping, whilst having treat us all like a streak of :censored: for half the season isn't one of them.

Passion shown from the players wouldnt go amiss!!!!

  2. Dont know what it has to do with how much you spend ... The players dont know if its your first match or your 1001st .. it is thier chance to thank us as supporters. Why make it personal??

It was their job to entertain.....which they did in the 1st half of the season, but since the turn of xmas things started taking a turn, just because results werent as good as before doesnt justify the run of form since the end of feb. A few hiccups in camp and the fighting spirit has dropped a notch or 2, no excuses, as a relatively new supporter i will get behind the team in the remaining 2 games and i shall also be there next season, it would be easy for someone like myself to walk away..........but i DONT want to!!!!!!!! I wanna be there and I will be there come wind/ rain/ snow or sun. Football is my passion and now OAFC is my club!

  3. Just out of interest andy. How much have you spent on following your beloved team over the season??

UNCONDITIONAL SUPPORT (laughable)..........why is it laughable? would you like me to put what you want to hear? money doesnt do UNCONDITIONAL

as far as that last comment goes i have had more than my fair share of ups n downs over the last 20 years with more to come and had to keep the faith more than just on match days!!!!!!!

:disappointed::grin::ranting::blink::shock::angry::blush::wink::mad::huh:<_< hope ive not missed anything off there

  4. Lap of honour

I have read some posts about ... dare they .... Christ !!! I thought the lap at the end of the season was for THE PLAYERS to thank the FANS for thier UNDYING and UNCONDITIONAL SUPPORT(laughable). No, my mistake its the chance for the FANS to 'turn thier backs' 'shout abuse' at the 'gutless cowards' who play football for Oldham Athletic.

Im afraid it isnt just the players who want to take a long hard look at themselves is it.

Perhaps someone should E mail Alan Hardy to organise a public flogging of our players at the Spindles !!! and let him/her who has never had a bad week or month or year or those who were never de-motivated by the incorrect descisions made by thier superior cast the first stone.. I wont debate with anyone who has lost the faith ..... as you cant lose it if you never had it in the first place.

    Amen

  5. "Get off the pitch you gutless tossers". Not sure how you would get that into a chant though.

Who would still be there to watch it anyway?

For those that are then a gesture as simple as turning one's back on the team if/ when they do do a lap be more apt, the threat of verbal abuse is what they would be (players) expecting, maybe the silent treatment would be more apt, as in being sent to coventry.

  6. Same difference really? I was talking in future tense, meaning it doesn't matter what the outcome of the result is on Saturday or which players are picked because we will finish the season in mid-table no mans land. What does matter is whether the players that are picked can be arsed putting in some effort for those fans that can be arsed to go & watch them.

Dare I ask what the response will be from the crowd if the players decided/ are made to do a lap of honour???

  7. i wouldnt batter too much of an eyelid at 5%, the rate of inflation would be better, but it will be my 1st one, i just think its the price you pay to see success, regardless of performance, why else do you think they are bringing JR in? they know the performances are poor but how are they going to get the regular season ticket holders in for another season, i will be buying one next season, but if the performances are anything to go by over the last few months, would i buy one for the season after? ill respond to this one at the end of next season.

  8. I think myself and Tangerine dream (was terrorist)...will be coming.

It was our first experience of the Beardy bus at Crewe. I am still taking the prescription drugs, having counselling and my weekend release pass should be active by then too.

    Killer anyone??????????????????...aagghh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Provisionally book two please Beardy.....Will confirm hopefully today or tomoz.

Let us know a rough price please too

    Ta

    T

beardy bus to crewe.....lol.......try carlisle....see what i have to live with!!!! lol keep taking the tablets babe

  9. Well i wasnt going Brighton anyway, but im hoping to be ok enough to play out for the Southend game. I beleive there setting up the half time entertainment where im going to jump across 17 crutches on a kids BMX in an Evil Knievel styleee but on stabelisers without the aid of a safety net or helmet.

Id try to learn how to ride one before jumping

  10. I gave up eating pies during the match back in the days of terracing, as I realised that one of the most uncomfortable experiences you can have is trying, while still feeling a couple of pre-match pints sloshing about your stomach, to eat this thing with a scalding hot filling while walking up or down steps and being elbowed and jostled by people who are simultaneously breathing beer fumes in your face and, sometimes, smell of BO (like the pies) to boot.

Ive never had a pie at a match before, ever, ive heard too many bad things about em, the above posts have just confirmed that nothing has changed, the stench of BO as well as a cack pie just twists my guts. Pie anyone........not for me ta!

  11. Lol...25p x 23 games...saving £5.75 a season!!! They'll come flocking

 I did try to edit that post lol, yes i realised after i had written it, £2.50 per game, reason why i said this was because i work away during the week therefore unable to do weekday matches, but would like to see some sort of loyalty scheme for those who are unable to make weekday mayches for one reason or another.

  12. what about a pie season ticket? as long as they don't bring back pukka

Pay for the pie(s) on the turnstile, you would be given a ticket to hand in before or at half time, work out over the season what the average pie consumption is per game then offset the following season........simple.......saves peoples stomachs thinking there throats have been slit, anybody know how many pies are brought in? obviously not enough!! :disappointed:

  13. Yes I am...that's my name.

    Ferguson? And the comparisons are....?

    Top or bottom?

Sorry to be sarcastic, it's just your prose and your lack of grammar that throws me.

I think the ones shooting him down are the "I want, I want it now" brigade, or, maybe they are correct in the assumption that it never works the second time around and that we need to be looking elsewhere for our "Messiah".

Sorry I didn't realise that when I joined this site that I had to grammatically correct on every statement I posted.

If he doesn't deliver next season how long will it be before the "Royle out" chanting starts??

The comparison to Ferguson was to how many seasons JR would be given to take us up a league.

"I want it, I want it now" brigade, or, it doesnt work second second time round- I am siding with the- it doesnt work the second time round to a certain degree but just remain hopeful in that he can deliver.

  14. In these "quick fix" times we live in, the "I want, I want and I want it now!" etc.

Wouldn't it be nice to get a rock-steady manager in charge, with the resources of a successful youth system and the finances to bring in the odd experienced, yet still effective, loan player.

Where we could, perhaps, take the time to build a talented team, built on youth and consistency, coupled with a shrewd head in charge of tactics and team selections. A team where "favourites" do not come into the equation. A team where, if a player is under performing, he will be dropped. We might even get a manager who tends to wear his heart on his sleeve and even stoop to telling us if a certain player is going to be dropped or even keep his place in the starting line-up.

He might even say "they might score three, but we'll score four!"

    Oh, wait a minute......

I for one don't think you are Blue_tak, so many are shooting him down even before he has got his teeth stuck into the team, if anybody cares to remember Strawberry nose went 3 seasons without a trophy, the way some call Him on here he'll be strung up on the 1st lampost on Sheepfoot lane
