  1. Hi, Darlo fan here. How's Pav done for you so far? We clearly miss him up here. Two goals in six matches isn't good.
  2. I'm gutted we've lost Purds. He's a quality player. I'm more disapointed in losing him than I would be anyne else in our squad. I rate him very highly. Leeds were allegedly after him in January. He's a centre midfielder by trade, but can do a good job anywhere really. He's a really good player, as you will no doubt see for yourselves.
  3. Abbott is out of contract, so he can sign for whoever he likes.
  4. Apparently we've been taken over, and the transfer of Jason Kennedy has been cancelled (At least for now) as the new owner/s don't want any contracted players leaving the club.
  5. According to someone I know. Apparently it will be announced midweek. Anyone on here heard anything similar?
  6. Penney is generally one who likes to get his signings in place as early as possible. Last year he released a load of our players within days of the season ending.
  7. Slightly, but his main priority is avoiding defeat. You won't conceed many goals, that's for sure.
  8. Gray is very similar to Penney, in terms of personality. Both hard men in the centre of midfield, and both won't take no :censored:. Andy Collett is a very good coach. We signed David Stockdale on a free, from a building site, and he was gash. Two years later we've sold him for £600,000! Granted, Stockdale will have improved himself, but AC played a huge part in his development. Penney's teams are generally built from the back, and will normally have at least one "hardman" in the centre of midfield, ala Ravenhill/Kennedy. Neither play pretty football, but they do the job that Penney asks.
  9. Don't be fooled by his wonder goal against Rochdale. He's been pretty average at best this season.
  10. You're also getting Andy Collett, a very good goalkeeping coach.
  11. Austin - A good quality right back. One of the best I've seen in League Two easily. Definetly good enough for League One. Bergmeier - An excellent dead ball specialist. Can sometimes drift in and out of games, but a real good winger. Doesn't really have pace though. Kennedy - I've been disappointed with him this season. Apart from his goal against Rochdale, he hasn't really been that impressive. He definetly has potential though. Purdie - A good utility man. Our player of the year. An excellent player. He's the one I'm going to miss most. Abbott - Good striker, but has missed a shed load of playing time through injuries. It would be good to get him off our wage bill. All the best.
  12. Sorry, but you're wrong. Give Penney a chance, and he WILL be a sucess.
