First half reasonable.    2nd half bloody awful.

they passed us off the park with little resistance, we just hoofed it upfront hoping

for something to happen.  Midfield too weak.

Nuttall gave nothing as did Shelton.

Seemed like DU had returned.  Tommo not the answer.

    So disappointing

As much as he is better than Unsworth, Thompson is not the answer and as a caretaker, he never would be. We need someone with a track record and experience in management. Champions and promotion contenders do not concede like we did tonight, Chesterfield apart. :D

Don't know how you can say that. You can't polish a turd.

A turd! With the squad assembled? This squad, on paper, as the bookies confirmed, should be promotion candidates. Unsworth fucked it up, Thompson, as much as he has manged to get them initially playing better, is not a manager with a sense of identity. He is not the man to take charge, as much as I respect him, he just isn't up to it. We need someone with experience and a track record.

Let's face it, we ain't going anywhere this season, it's done, gone beyond us and a mid-table to maybe just missing the playoffs is on the cards.

To be fair he’s trying to get a tune out of Unsworth’s lot…after an initial boost we seem to be reverting to type.

A reasonable 1st half but we didn’t create an awful lot. 2nd half we were absolutely shocking and in the end very fortunate to escape with a point!

Like I’ve said before I’m not sure Thommo or any other manager could get us challenging with this squad!

"Reverting to type" is the manager's fault for allowing it. I have never ever seen the legendary 'Manager Bounce' at BP, so if they can do it once, they can do it again.  Subs, to me, didn't help

He's not the man for the job.

I’m sure ST definitely alluded to him and Redfern looking at bringing players “to help”, sounds like loans to me but what do I know

Didn't Wealdstone have four players "helping them out"? Ironically, their top scorer is on loan from Rochdale. I can't see any new players being brought in until the managerial appointment is resolved. Hopefully Lundstrum gives us what we are missing in the midfield.

    No pressure.

  5. Football has always been divisive and fans are never going to agree with each other 100%. I wonder what the Chesterfield fans are thinking, with their table-topping team managing to scrape a 1-1 away at bottom four Maidenhead United? Shit happens, only, it would have been much shittier under Unsworth as Latics would have probably lost today and not have 10pts from 12 under their belt.

Thompson seemed to allude to him and Redfearn looking at players to bring in or did I misread that? He knows what the team needs, whether he gets it or not, who knows? I think the club will appoint someone else and I kind of agree with yarddog73 that Thompson, whilst doing okay, is not the man for the job long-term.

A win on Tuesday should be achievable, hopefully Gardner can start but yes, I agree that Shelton is the weakest link in the team and should be replaced as soon as possible.

  6. Doesn't look like Tollitt will be on the radar anymore, Hope has had some game time but probably not fancied for tonight, although on the bench. Shelton will be a non-starter once Lundstrum gets on the park and to see Gardner going off after 15 mins was disappointing, however, it was inevitable he would break down again. He will feature in later games.

Whilst I agree that we need more bodies in, soon hopefully, winning with a lacklustre performance is a sign of good things. We all know this, don't we?
