I always liked the 48 team knockout format.
But I think last season's nonsense killed it for me.
I didn't mind it the 48 knockout either. The team strength rule wasn't ideal at all and needed amending but aside from that it was fine. We may have had more time for it had we managed to progress from the two Northern Finals we got to.

Law at right back or McGlaughlin?
On current form it has to be Ryan Mc doesn't it. Player of the month award handed to him at weekend and then made the EFL team of the week for his Fleetwood display.

Back four and Wilson moved to left back.

Sadly not the player he once was but then he is an old bloke nowadays...
He is just 30. He should have a bit left in the tank really. Not sure on keeping him but doubt he'll have plenty of offers anyway.

Under Robinson we saw Erwin wide and often playing around the halfway line. The dribbles he went on looked good but often there was one touch too many and he lost the ball.
Sheridan came in and said he wanted the strikers to be in the box. Since then Erwin does a lot less chasing back than he used to and scores a lot more goals.

Nice to see them bring a decent following for once.

Calvin Zola has to be up there. Jan Budtz takes it as a keeper.
Fair or few who where dogs bollocks for us but went on and did awesome elsewhere.
7 goals in 28 from someone who joined us aged 18 on loan really isn't bad at all. Has any youngster done any better since? Appreciate he missed plenty but he was 18 in a poor side.
Worst, Starbuck and his "I'm doing my best" shout to the fans at Wigan.

Hope our players see what these think of our club on their forum. No need for any team talk.I really want a win to help us and wipe the smug smiles off their faces.
The ref at weekend is the one Sheridan had the run in with while at Notts County.
Can't see us getting much.

When you think about it...we've had Lee Hughes on our books and tried signing, at that time, a convicted rapist and yet we fired off Touhy as quick as we could before any court case or evidence had ever been heard.
Terrell Forbes case didn't read too well either and we signed him a summer later.

It's hardly the same as when Wayne Andrews was at Layer Rd.
Pipedown you tart.
Steady

Remind me....what did we chant when Green came on and when Banks came on.
There was booing. A similar sort of sound.
-
I'll be the one chanting Michael over and over again the next time he comes on. Hopefully everyone is OK with that.

The swagger on Gregan. When he'd rough up a striker after a few minutes and that was it, over. The striker wanted no part of the game. He was great.
Always thought his bad games (there were some) came against sides whose strikers he probably dismissed as not being up to much. The better opposition, from memory he always did well against.

Sorry about that Clifford.

On the message board
Must be true ✌️.
In all seriousness have you got a link?
It was on the back page of The Times with quotes from Baxter. It is happening.

Who the :censored: have the club spunked £100k on?

Football is about so much more than which league your in. It's about the banter with mates. It's about having pride in your club, and bragging at work about how you beat the league leaders. It's about scoring a goal every now and then. It's about a beer bus to Carlisle when chaddy fell off a bike. It's about singing the names of your stalwart players who have been at the club for years, or who play with their heart on their sleeve.
It shouldn't be talking about hmrc tax bills, winding up orders and transfer embargoes.
Latics - be it through intent or as a result of mismanagement - have lost sight of what football should be about. Not one of us no matter what you say can honestly say we enjoy watching latics anymore. We do it because it's what we do. Until we can say with some conviction that we trully enjoy going to bp again the club is lost. It's a sad time but with each year that passes latics take a step closer to oblivion. And the saddest thing is nobody seems to care.enough to do anything about it
Spot on. Great post.

Sheridan simply gave us an injection of morphine.
It was a great hit. Desperately need another.

Surely experienced ground staff can tell if the pitch is likely to be frozen and pre-empt any decision a referee is likely to make?
Clearly not in this case .

The Oldham ground staff say the pitch was playable at 9am so there was no call for an early inspection.#pufc

How the :censored: has the pitch gone from playable at 9 to unplayable now?!
Unfortunately the decision to play doesn't rest with them. Their opinion counts for bugger all.

Here we go.

Giggs is desperate to manage and stated he would even drop down to League One.
He'd have to be desperate to come here.
