Surely we arnt going to have two 33 year olds leading the line for us.
The one with 15 goals in 24 games seems alright.......

My stance is MM needs 12/18 months minimum to show if he can make us into a side that can seriously challenge to get out of this league.
I agree but I think he'll do it quicker.
I get the feeling he's trying to get various systems/structures in place, in training and in matches, and then we'll see a few better players signed in January to complement 7 or 8 who by then will have already shown they can follow his instructions & get reasonable results.
I also agree we might not be good enough to be favourites to win the playoffs but might still scrape through in a some gloriously manky fashion.
Hope I'm right.....

turds can’t be polished and
They can be.
It's usually better to flush them away though
Tranmere fans have talked Brabin up as a man who is very good at unblocking a toilet.
Whether or not he can after Unsworth was sat on it for a year might be another matter.....

Pretty sure Sheron is suspended after 5 bookings in the league.
I hope we take it seriously, Mellon is evaluating the squad, building his style of play so it's a good opportunity. We don't win enough games to mess around and there's good prize money and potentially TV money.
Play the strongest side available.
Absolutely. Winning is a habit, as is not winning.

To my mind the whole problem has been caused by media/tv and twats like Lineker, Shearer and Wright.
I preferred those days to Carragher and McManaman's never ending highest pitched indignation competition....

According to Unsworth he’s comfortable on either side!!
So he's not then.

I keep seeing everyone blowing bubbles out of McGahey arse and I just dont understand the love in, granted he came in at Alty and did a job but since then we've let 2.6 goals a game in and the defence has seemingly gone to pot, I'm not necessarily blaming him but it would suggest to me we probably just need some better players.
McGahey looking after the ball & playing out from the back a bit more than the more agricultural Hogan contributed to us looking a far better footballing side on Saturday....

Need someone out wide to get crosses in.
Both goals came from well worked passing into/close the box....
Wingers are too inconsistent at this level.
And our best crosser Kitchings crosses, whilst easy on the eye, rarely amount to anything.

Sorry I meant serious violence as in people going to hospital. A few punches were thrown but didn't seem to really connect so no massive injuries.
The lads involved should be commended for practicing safe punching.

I’ll take ‘being shit and winning’ every day of the week.Me too but it's rarely sustainable.
Hopefully they're working towards us being good and winning, which usually is...

I really can’t be arsed going through each player and his pedigree.
But after our first loss in 9- to start claiming the majority are shit and need replacing is over reactive nonsense.
Not really, barring Thommo's first two games we've got results despite playing really poorly in the main.
I'd be amazed if, come February, and certainly come August Mellon hasn't massively overhauled this squad....
Or, even better, he coaches some of the shite to become decent....

Eminem says on that video Penryn shared that he loves a winger but also that he won't play wingers unless he's got some good uns available.
I like this.
Even back in League One wingers were too inconsistent.
You're much better off with the solidity of wide midfielders or more central midfielders...

He sets-up like Unsworth, but can get the best out of James Norwood?
That sounds like a bit of a contradiction..
Who's said he sets up like Unsworth?

More than happy with Mellon. Hopefully our fans take to him quicker than they did Unsy.
When did we take to Unsy?

Would imagine clauses would be included this time. No way Frank and co are making the same mistake twice
It'd be a totally different mistake if it were to turn out a mistake though.

Eh????
Are you gonna get Sam Corry to do a range of OAFC Che Guevara hats?

A big factor in Unsy fluking a few wins back end of last season seemed to be us having a lot of long term professional footballers with the physiology & fitness that comes with that playing against recently part time former binmen and accountants.....

Should we not be viewing this as Thommo and Redfearn coming as a team, a package?
A lot of talk of lack of managerial experience but both have years of experience around first team football, mostly at a far higher level.
The stats from their time together at Leeds are a lot more impressive than at first glance.
They took over a relegation threatened side and weren't far off the playoffs in the end.
The dynamic/relationship they seem to have says to me it wouldn't really matter which of the two was the "main man".
I'm happy to roll with this unless we can get a Clarke/Mellon....
Maybe roll with it and get a Clarke or Mellon next time....

Hope we don't fall into the trap we did in 2017 when Wellens won a few games as caretaker manager.
Someone involved in football said to me that we should be aiming to get a young "head coach" in (such as Johnson in 2013) to work with Thompson being assistant...
Do that once we're back in the league above.
Meantime we need an organiser/motivator to get us out of this one.
There'll be foundations and a winning culture then for a more progressive head coach to build on while there's already a habit of winning matches.

Our goalkeeper was player of the season though.
None of them have a goal in them whether from open play or set pieces - I bet this seasons goals from defence figure is an all time low or very close.
None of them can pass or carry the ball particularly well which impacts us negatively further up the pitch and none of them are leaders/vocal enough.
There's not an ounce of ooomph amongst them.
