I heard the Taylor/Kilkenny swap rumour too, but nothing about cash or other players.
-
(6) I fit that bill, and have never felt discriminated against. Not sure what exactly it is I'm supposedly unable to do.
-
And to think we paid almost twice that amount for Steve Whitehall.
-
In addition to some of those already mentioned...

Started my second game again yesterday. Sold Lee Hughes to Dundee and Mark Allott to Sheffield Wednesday and used the cash to pick up Ian Morris (Scunthorpe) and Kevin McDonald (Airdrie) in midfield, Gavin Peers (Sligo) and Callum Bissett (Western Mass) in defence, Jordan Rhodes (Ipswich) up front, and Shaleum Logan and Henri Lansbury (Arsenal) on loan. Also have a pre-contract agreement with James Ashmore (Ferencvaros).

Yeah, but until/unless I get paid out, it's a stressful and demotivated place to work. If my mates get binned, I don't want to give this firm the time of day.

Well, tomorrow morning is when I find out if I'm redundant. Or if not then, then in the second round next week. Or if not then, then in the third round in February. Or if not then, then in the fourth round in May.
Worth me hanging around? I don't think so.

Cheers. I guess in the absence of other information he's still around.
-
I know he was never likely to break straight into the first team, but is he even here now? Haven't seen him mentioned in any reserves stories lately.
-
Good player. I always rated him. Didn't think he'd be a top-level player but saw a bit of Chris Makin's tenacity in his style.

Sorry to hear that, both of you. Hope you both land on your feet & find something else soon.
I hear about my job soon (probably); my company's being taken over on January 1.

Very good. Took me a while to decide if it was real or a clever satire.

Quiet one with the wife & some vintage champagne. And some beer. And a lot of wine.
(London's no fun at New Year - everyone's freezing their knackers off trying to find somewhere to watch the fireworks, then struggling to get on a tube home, or the alternative is paying £15 to get into your local and being charged more for the drinks while trying to extricate yourself from a stranger's armpit.)

Sony mp3 player, few CDs, FIFA 09 for the Xbox (Chris O'Grady and David Williams currently top scorers in the division...), jumper, cufflinks (which I wanted), couple of books.
Only one unwanted jumper. Not bad really!

Another thumbs up for Band of Brothers, quality programme although a liberal helping of artistic license went into Ambrose's books which it is based on. I could have sworn that the second world war wasn't just between the you ess of aay and the dirty hun. - Taken as just a retrospective of Easy Company it is fantastic.
To be fair to them, it wasn't a documentary history of World War 2, but the story of one particular US unit. No one film or series could do justice to every nationality and service.

Not sure if it's HD ready, mind.

Humax boxes are very good. My twin tuner PVR was one of my best purchases ever. The PVR 9300T is the current model and looks equally good.

£400,000 for a 32-year-old at this level is good money.
I would rather Hughes was sold than Taylor (a longer-term prospect).
However, if this does turn out to be true then it speaks volumes for TTA's attitude towards promotion. Byfield should be alongside Hughes, not a replacement for him. Taking this at face value suggests they've given up on this year already.
One other possibility is TTA think Hughes is going to disappear on a free in the summer and want to avoid another Porter situation. I can't blame them for cashing in now if that's the case, but we would need a quality replacement (not a Premiership teenager on loan, a genuinely worthwhile replacement).
Of course, all of the above statements depend on this being true.

What kind of graphics card does your new one have, Guernica?

Live scores are at http://www.sportinglife.com/football/live_match/168244.html if anyone's desperate.

Strange names?? I dare say Miskelly and Papavasiliou are Smith and Jones in some places...

I was really looking forward to this game but it's been a disappointing demo. The performance is so sluggish - particularly on match days, and I have a reasonably high-performing computer - that I gave up. The Oldham stats seemed good to me (John Thompson a little overrated, Dean Smalley a little underrated, but fine otherwise) although it's a shame some of the younger prospects weren't listed (Eaves, etc). I guess that's a timing/age issue though.

What about another midfielder - we don't seem to have much cover if Maher is the only one on the bench.

Colm Meaney looks like he was born to play Don Revie.
