Or it could be because the traditional Saturday lunchtime kick-off in the Prem is not scheduled, most of which were on BT sport last year. Instead there's an 8pm KO for Citeh v Newcastle that weekend.

I think Derbyshire 5-0 will be happy that Oldham's visit to Chesterfield is a 12.30 pm KO though.

Plymouth vs Saints - Bolton vs Wigan both KO that day at 12.30.

Reckon the plod have had a say on that as I'm sure they will if the game at Spotland gets picked for TV I'd expect that to be a 12:30pm game too.

With all the other tv games having been shifted to 5.30pm,  without doubt they have had their say.

The home club/local boozers will be the ones to miss out on matchday attendance/revenue as the NL TV revenue is miniscule in comparison.

  3. I think there is a miss-conception that the lower down the leagues you go the Maghey type centre halves become more effective, but for me that depends on the opposition. Judging by the games I have seen, not too many play hoofball, a lot of them like to get the ball down play in from the flanks with low balls in and across the box, which has were we have conceded the majority of our goals from. Stop the threat out wide and teams will run out of ideas and resort to riskier passes where can turn the possession over quicker.

As soon as we brought on Couto on the County home game and double up on Nemane (little Ruel Fox) he simply passed the ball back and their full back launched it up in the air where Norman claimed.

No doubt the lad has experience, but I'm not sure that alone is worthy of a place in the side, and if his backs dodgy then a less than mobile player then becomes more of a liability.

At Dorking we started to press from the front which was great to see, but as may have eluded to on here, midfield is the problem, opposition teams have way too much time to pick out their wide men as they come under no real pressure form our midfield (bar Sheron's recent move to midfield), get that sorted and we will be in business.

Best form of defence is attack, all over the pitch.

Hes just a strange individual who possibly has some mental health issues.  The phone-in exploit him for me, there were a number of death threat letters sent to Steven Robinson at a time he used to appear at the training ground that were widely assumed (though not proven) to be written by him*

*more than a few called for Iain Dowie to be brought back

Fair enough, I have to agree though, giving him airtime only gives him a platform. If the podcast lads speak to Unsworth regularly then only they will know if he's genuine or not and if he speaks to him, I have my own thoughts on that. If he's not, then he shouldn't be given airtime just to fill the show.

  5. Seems a bit of a marmite character does Big D, I work with a staunch Everton supporter who doesn't have a bad word to say about him. I saw one Scouser making derogatory comments about him when he first came, with a bit of research he turned out to be a Liverpool fan masquerading as a blue. Just watched the Peter Clarke video, I know hes not getting any younger but what a leader to have around the club. I really hope he stays on a bit longer, his experience and drive is invaluable in our current situation, and I'm sure he will go on to be successful in coaching/management should he decide thats the right path for him.

A bit of a gamble then, but let's hope he adapts well and nets a few.

A lot of his appearances were at higher level so there is hope there. He's at a good age and well thought of. I saw a few comments on the Blackpool board when he came on to net the winner vs Ipswich in L1, talk of him coming in for Madine at the time who I always thought was handy at that level and is still playing for them in the Championship now. Fingers crossed.

I have a friend whose ITK at Everton and apparently we have Lewis Dobbin and Tyler Onyango lined up to come in January, not sure why we have to wait till then but that is what I'm being told, both well thought of at Everton, anybody else heard this?

Lewis Dobbin thats on loan at Derby, seems strange for him to then drop down two leagues...

Barrow train in Salford so that doesn't make that much sense...

When did Barrow start to train in Salford wasn't it just this year? That would make sense with the timeline, if he was still training in Barrow at the point he left for County in 2020.  He may have been told in Jan 22 when he rejoined they were planning to move their training base.
