  1. My Auntie was in Cyprus a couple of years ago and she took her son to a zoo in his Latics shirt and to her surprise a man who worked there was a Latics fan from Stalybridge! Anyone else had something similar to that happen?

I was in Florida in my fluorescent yellow oldham shirt and a man in his early fourtys was in the cue for 'hulk' the roller coaster right in front of me wearing the SAME top... No it wasn't my dad!
  2. hang on.. i think ive just seen someone accuse croft of not showing pride in the blue shirt? for me - even when he wasnt a fit in the first half of the season he STILL was the only one at the end of the match giving 100% so please no one judge his pride in the shirt

  3. I'm planning on getting a season ticket this year rather than paying on the day... Does anyone know where a proper seating plan of the ground can be found since the website just lets you guess where you want to sit and I'd rather be as close to my normal seat as possible and never had cause to check the row/seat number

not that it matters.. we never fill the seats, can sit anywhere with your st
  4. from what you hear about smith... he isn't bothered about money in the slightest - his dad has a wad and he himself has a degree and said before we offered him the contract he could of been earning a lot more money elsewhere but his love for football made him decide to come to BP - so money won't be a factor of what club he chooses, it will be what offers him more in terms of learning and improving or playing at a great ground with a bigger team!

  5. Kieran another point of friendlies is testing the players against fairly decent opposition going beating a team 5-0 6-0 at Boundary Park won't benefit them. Be a tougher game at gigg lane. Rather play a SPL team or lower ranked Prem side.

definitely rather play an SPL team or prem, but if we go down the usual route of local non league teams i dont see the harm in playing two teams with decent support and local!
  6. I know it was an end-of-season dead rubber and we were poor, but take Shrewsbury for example. I'd have much rather heard a bit of drumming than the four pissed teenagers' painful renditions of Oh When The Blues. It most likely would have got a few more singing.

spot on, that was awful listening to them four, couldnt bare it!
  7. they bring more to away games.. they played newcastle town and took just short of 2000, us being Oldham and them being all ex United fans they will bring a fair few to our ground, i remember when our reserves played them at BP and they brought about 300 and didnt stop singing all game - put the game on at BP would bring money in and a bit of an atmoshpere; a lot better then many other pre season games at BP that are like going to church

  8. Atleast LJ idea about the drum is a way forward and the young lad who did it last season Ben, was better than the previous two drummers. If people do not like it sing louder.

about the last two drummers... the one before Ben was class, went most away games, especially the big ones where we needed an atmosphere and can remember one instance huddersfield where he did the same song for half an hour so for me he was the best drummer up to now, touhy was class for the two cup games though!
