  1. The youth team did as much experimenting with kits as they did with their team!

They look to have a stronger squad this season anyway. A few of their better players didn't feature for some reason but they were still comfortably the better team especially first half. Looked a little disjonited second half and didn't keep the ball as well but all the substitutions probably played a part in that. That new first year centre half who I think we got from City looked good as did Tom Eaves - a big target man who is now a first year apperentice having come through our centre of excellence - and second year midfield playmaker Chris Rowney was good as well.

you lot get to alot of games that are on durin the day, do you not work

  2. :censored:

Some :censored: by the name of Nesbitt et al (as your name is Razza I will presume you don't know that means 'and others') were suggesting that Gregan was slow gash and Stam great (not a direct quote), hence the Stam is quite gash and Gregan is far better type messages. Doesn't make him a boo boy because he isn't blind to the fact that Stam is not as good as Gregan.

we will see about gregan when the season is up and runnin. everybody has an opinion, as for the censored bit i would love to no what it was u said. out of order really.

  3. Did you go to Crewe? Maynard didn't have a kick, Gregan had him in his pocket all game. Gregan and Rubes (who is no slouch) first choice for me. Stam was poor last night, particularly after doing the hard bit in gaining posession, then he usually gave it away with poor clearances/general distribution. Wasn't all that impressed by Whitaker either, he looked good at Rhyl and ok at Grimsby but looked out of his depth against higher opposition imo. I'd like to think both Stephens (who looked very good again) and Maher who looks just the sort of leader in the middle we need are in front of Danny at the moment. O'Grady surprised me last night after looking particularly rusty at Rhyl and Grimsby he was a real handful last night and him and Davies seem to be forging agood understandin, Hughes' starting place is by no means a formality. The triallist didn't have much time to shine as we constantly either hoofed or played it down the right, which beggars the question WhyTF was Liddell on the right? BIG MISTAKE SHEZ, we have more mobile players to play wide right, if he starts the season there Shez is making a rod for his own back.

My starting 11 for Millwall based on the three friendlies i've seen

    Crossley

    Eardley

    Hazell

    Gregan

A N Other or Kelvin or Lee if fit

    Taylor

    Maher

    Allott

    Phillips/Smalley

    Davies

    O'Grady

    Subs:

    Fleming

Hughes (Needs to seriously sharpen up, then can be considered for a starting spot)

    Stephens

    Whitaker

    other spots up for grabs

This is the current state of play for me, obviously there's over two weeks yet and things are looking good. I would hope by the time Hull arrive at BP next week Shez will have a firm idea of what his starting 11 will be.

yes i went crewe. was a good match. im sure maynard scored

  4. Friendly results

Crewe 4 Hull 0, think we might face a backlash.

    Zola hat trick!!!!

    Doncaster 1 Newcastle 0

I know you don't read much into friendlies, but if they were our results, I think some would be raving and expecting the title by August.

zola will be a hit if they keep maynard theres deffo a chance that a good partnership could be formed.

  5. Just had an SMS - Club have confirm that they have agreed with Hillstone Developments to cancel final year of Sponsorship.

I assume that a new sponsor is being lined up... watch this space

im sure they will be keepin hilstone on the shirts though because think of all the stick they will get if they do change it, fans have gone out of there way to buy the new away kit and then they change the sponsers and release the kits with them on. i no if they did and id have bought the away shirt already then i wouldnt be happy.

  6. Liddell never stopped crossing to the spot that Porter always used to go to, even though he isn’t here any more. I presume other strikers have been told to attack that spot but haven’t done enough times. Taylor has started arriving there, which helps, but Davies really needs to be getting himself into those positions and expecting the ball to arrive, or maybe O’Grady will do that job.

i like liddell, his crosses are 90% accurate and i would rather have him on the pitch to take our set pieces like corners than lettin taylor, taylor should learn from lidds how to take a corner.

as for gregan i think people no what i think so im not goin to go there. all i can say is hes way to slow and will most likely get caught out by the fast strikers this season again eg maynard parker and beckford.

but at the end of the day hes captain and shez isnt goin to drop him is he so the people who are like me then just get used to it because the better partnership of hazell and stam isnt goin to happen unless gregan gets injured of suspended.

  7. I’m surprised Hughes hasn’t had more pitch time TBH, he’s either fit or he isn’t, surely what he needs is minutes on the clock. If he is in any sort of shape he would be first name on the team sheet but it is nice to have options in case he is off the boil. He will still score at least 65 goals this season though.

the thing is ogrady does look like the sort of player davies would enjoy playin with.

he held the ball up brilliantly against derby and then fed davies.

he also seemed to be in all the right places when davies was on the ball.

dont get me wrong i like hughesy but this ogrady lad could keep hughesy out of the team

because i dont think them 2 are right for each other but davies could play upfront with

both of them. mainly because hes quick.

  8. Anything in the air is food and drink for Gregan, admittedly he is not exactly jet heeled, but you forget he can read the game and at in the worst case scenario,a pacy forward would have to run around him,no mean feat that!!

its a fact that a pacey forward seems to get the better of gregan. maynard and parker are the main expamples. i no am not on my own here. somebody must feel the same way as i do about gregan. too slow.

  9. Lomax is very quick, Eardley isn't slow. Gregan and Hazell are big, hard and know what to do. It isn't all about pace.

am sorry right but gregan is very slow. it is about pace. get a high ball over and get somebody quick like parker/beckford/maynard will run him ragged. not havin a go but its true. he plays on a high line and its not good really

apart from the defence everything looks good its just the defence that worries me. nothin he can do though i suppose.

  10. Its gunna be interesting.

Do you think someone will be sold? There are a lot of "first teamers" in there. Personally I think Allesandra needs to be in the mix up. He's in my 16 - sorry smalley.

am sorry pal but smalley played good today play like that and hel be in my 16. hes a winger not a striker and adds something different lewis wont get a chance i dont think with us having ogrady hughes and davies. unless an injury pops up or suspension

  11. TAYLOR HAS TO START THE SEASON ON THE RIGHT!!!!!

we got more crosses in the last 15 minutes off him than i saw for most of last season. those who say he is better on the left are havin a giraffe. He wants to play there, he is better there, so dont let Andy Liddell stand in his way

i saw alot of pace in this team. Ogrady looks very good and i think he could have a very good understandin with davies, honestly right them 2 looked good together and hughes will have to be on top form this season.

with them 2 upfront and a choice of smalley taylor phillips on the wings were goin to have bags of pace in the team and i can see them troublin alot of defences this season.

speakin of defences. im not happy. eardley gregan/thompson stam/hazell lomax

im sorry it just looks too slow. thats my only worry.
