  1. Write us off at your peril, but we've signed decent League One players who are 40+ game a season players that will fight for the shirt, and are all singing from the same hymn sheet in that they all want success. The key to success is ability going forward, but leadership and commitment at the back (thus far we have signed this but expect us to sign some quality strikers to play with a very good striker in Hume) and also consistency in keeping the same team throughout, and strength in the squad when any players get injured. That's the sort of signings GW has made to reflect this plan. He's signed Laird and Buchanan for one position, in LB, after having no LB all of last season, we've got the BBC's left back of the season in this division signed up and Tranmere's player of the season signed up to fill that one position. Richard Wright has experience but he's been brought in to act as cover for Stuckmann, our player of the season (fans and players) who is a top keeper for this division. A few good signings (right back and forwards) will have us competing at the top, I'm sure of it. You must be gutted at losing Taylor and Lee though, your two best players, for nothing? Also, the main reason I quoted this post was that we have made a further 4 signings, and released a further 14 players to what this poster has suggested. Also SCS and Wroe were also both on frees... Jeffrey Monakana [Arsenal - Preston] Free John Mousinho [stevenage - Preston] Free John Welsh [Tranmere - Preston] Free Paul Huntington [Yeovil - Preston] Free So it's 11-0.
  2. Sounds like a sort of player we'd be after then.
  3. Oops I thought it said Reece James. I blame it on the lack of the sleep. Still my point stands as Man Utd have just signed James after being released by ourselves, but obviously it'd be too far-fetched to make up a rumour about a nobody. Because let's face it that website is full of people making up rumours.
  4. Well it'd be interesting if it is true, as we've just released this fella, and Man United have seemingly just signed him up to loan him out, and try and get a ridiculously over-priced fee for him for being a "Manchester United player", like most of their youth product that they know aren't good enough but try to squeeze as much money out of Football League teams as possible. Like I say, he never made an appearance for our first team, and looked OK in the youth team, but a bit out of his depth in any of the friendly games in pre-season. Couldn't believe it when Man Utd signed him up on a free transfer, after we deemed him "not good enough"!
  5. Crocked, I'd say. He flatters to deceive, and I think he's past his sell by date. We brought him in for experience, and to lead the team, neither he could do well in. He's very clumsy and slow, although I think if we played him alongside Coutts, a young attacking midfielder, it could have been more effective, than playing him alongside two other golden oldies in Alexander and Nicholson.
  6. I don't think you got the sarcasm in the post, hence the ellipsis at the end of the sentence.
  7. Trust me, Nicky Hunt is fecking awful. Don't know why you would want to sign him. Mind we've also released our first choice RB in David Gray, who is Championship quality IMO, and wasn't given enough of a chance under GW. Conor McLaughlin is also a better RB than Hunt, but he's been transfer listed meaning he'll require a fee. I'd have also liked us to keep Darel Russell and Bailey Wright (been our most consistent performer of recent) but GW knows best...
