I am patriotic and love watching the World Cup, but there is no thought required in this poll.
Blues all the way!
But come on England!
-
I would just like to say well done, and thanks to the club. My take on it is some news, even if it's kinda non-news, is better than silence. So keep the communications up please OAFC.
As a Failsworth resident I would very much welcome a cinema, we lost the Roxy, so I either go to Ashton, Belle Vue or the Print Works. In fact, any facilities would be welcome really!

I stayed, never seen a lap honour like that before, from players or the fans. Poor show all round.
Glad that that season is finaly over, but already looking forward to the next one.

Unique in what sense?
Would probably be the standard carbrini design with latics badge and colours?
If that club email said the colour is going to be different, I would go for navy ala masters, so maybe navy with red pinstripes?
A navy and red Latics Home shirt? Are you serious???

Doin' some research, yes I am bored.
Maybe it could be like this one:

Or this:

The ballmouth one is nice, although I would like it blue with white trim, not white with blue trim.
The Rotherham one is awful, so I am glad that it is not a possibility.
Will buy it anyway, money for the club and all that.

I really like the design of the Tang/Navy top, one of my fave away shirts, however I too have found that the sponsor letters have split. I pretty much only wear the shirt for the gym and even then it's not that often, I have a lot of tops, so I find it dissapointing. Other than this, the quality seems OK.
I am fairly happy with Carbrini, in reality we would not get Nike or Adidas. Shame as I think the Adidas kits are really good, the Nike ones not so. I say stay with the cheapo manufacturers, more money for the club.
I await the new home shirt, will def purchase, whatever it looks like.
Oh, just a thought, are there any fans out there who have, well erm, let themselves go?
I used to be a fatty, not been for the last few years though, gym and healthy diet, all that boring stuff. The downside is that my old Latics tops now look Gregan sized, when a more slender fit would be more suitable. I am hoping for a swap shop type deal. Any former medium sizers out there interested?

Now something we agree on! That c*** can f*** right off!!! Chesterfield away, relegation looking extremely likely, his attitude stank. Would possibly put Dele Adebola above him for worst attitude ever but JJ should never wear the shirt again...I said it that day when he threw it at the dugout (when subbed for his on-field cowardice) and I'll say it again now! Some folk have very, very short memories!
I was at the match that day, up until then I was just about losing patienece with JJ, but not yet disliking him. However, he was an absolute disgrace in that match, as he was subbed I commented to my mate that that will be the last we would see of him in a Latics shirt. Thankfully it was. Would never have him back.
Dunno much about this JJ though.

Trannies play Colchester away on Saturday so I believe that we will not need another point.
Job done.

There's a copy in a charity shop in Oldham @ about a quid. Been there a few weeks as well. No names but who can pronounce Xomaf anyway.
I don't think that I have ever heard this... does anyone have an mp3? Is that too naughty a question, piracy and all that stuff. Nah, it's a Latics record!
Come on, I want to hear this.

I agree in general, but this story was on the official site, there must be a valid reason that the club wrote the artical (hopefully).
Anyway, binned it now. £4.34 in my pocket every month!
Last night I received a call from someone from the lotto. He told me I could quote his name and many things that he went on to say to me, but I don't think I should really. Suffice to say that I have heard another side to the story, it was quite eye opening, and that a letter is going out to explain the situation. Also I will not be playing any new lotto that is affiliated with another sports club...
However, I had already cancelled my standing order, which I think was the correct decision as I don't want to get in the middle of yet another issue at the club. I won't be playing any future lotto associated with the Latics any more. I am fed up with the way things are going at our club at the moment, never felt this despondent about it before and fear the worst for it.
Anyway, look out for the other side of the story via letter/newspaper article.
My apologies to the people who run the lotto for accepting what I read on the official site as the truth, it seems you can't even rely on that any more.

Never believe everything you read till you know the facts J

After reading this I canned the standing order on my online banking, then managed to find the following page...
http://66.102.9.132/search?q=cache:LK04UYq...=clnk&gl=uk
I called the number on there, left a message telling them that I will no longer be playing, I suggest that you all do the same.
This was the info, to cut to the chase.

Remember when they changed the badge on the green and blue away kit lates nineties? Anyone got an image of it? Had 4 sections, in a shield, had OAFC through the middle.
Personally, I didn't like it.
I hated that one.
I think we should keep the current design, maybe a little tweakinng, but def change the red to tangerine.
Oh, and obviously it will need to say FAFC on it by the time we move too. ;)

I hope he does put Colbeck in in place of Smalley, don't get me wrong I am not a Smalley hater, but that performance against Tranmere this week has to go down as one of the poorest I have seen from a Latics player for a long time. Truly dreadful. Pull your socks up Smalley, you are much better than that.

My picks
Ryan Bertrand
Neil Killkenny
Shane Supple (if he was still playing)....Alternatively
Darryl Flahaven (if he was fit)
-
Penney never disguised this. He said he would use it. With budgets as tight as they are the loan system has to be used for clubs such as ourselves. I'd say Penney's loanees are adding more.
Yeah, I totally agree, DP's loans have been better than Shez'.
-
I think that's 29. Of which a few were genuine "emergency" loans.
Plus others on contract probably takes us to about 70/80 even if not JP's 100.
How does that compare with other clubs I wonder?
Dunno that one.
But moving further off topic, which of these players would you take right now, as a Latics player, not a loan. You have the pick of any, money is no object.
-
It would be interesting if someone could tot them up and find the exact number over the last 3 seasons, and how many of them have actually signed permanently for Latics.

My thoughts.... Well I consider myself pretty hardcore and have been/will still be going to the games as usual, but I do sympathise with a lot of fans apathy.
My match day experience is not what it was for a few reasons, firstly it is really sad looking across at a barren area where the lookers was, really disheartening. I understand how this situation has come about and it is not a criticism, but it's not nice to see BP in it's current state.
Secondly, my car got broken into when I was at the Ernie charity game (classy crims huh?) and since then I now boycott the official parking and instead park near the DW. I am a member anyway and often go in before the game but it is an inconvenience which means that most games I get in the stadium frozen and soaked. When we move to Failsworth (fingers crossed) I will have a short walk, or safer parking facilities.
Thirdly, a lot of the people I used to go to the game with are no longer frequent attenders, however you are never alone at the footy and I know a lot of people around me now, though it is not what it used to be. A couple of mates have said that the new stadium would make them more inclined to come to more games however.
So for me the move will sort most of my issues out. I don't agree with the team are crap arguments, we have been crap for years and in actual fact we have been better and more consistent in recent seasons finishing in or around the play offs. This season has been disappointing but the injuries have been horrendous, we will see how we do when the squad looks healthier, my prediction is a midtable finish.... lets see come May.
The fourth reason I feel a little apathy is that even though we are better than the days of Garnett, McNiven, Tipton, Rickers etc. the large turnover of players means that not many players feel like our own, this is just lower league footy these days I guess. The aforementioned players stayed at the club for moire than two seasons and you felt an affinity to them, even if they were crap, they were our crap! The loan signing after loan signing is also tiresome. I would much rather chuck a youngster in.
Just my thoughts as I said. I am not hangin myself yet, though this message board should probably carry a warning.

Who's up for dressing up as the four horsemen of the apocalypse, riding horseback down brodway screaming the end is nigh!!
Sounds a good idea to me.
I will not let these people stand in the way of my clubs future, I went to the planning meetings and on the march for the last stadium proposals, so I want to help again, maybe as a secret agent?! Although I would have to put my name and address as a supporter of theres. Any suggestions?

I always thought he was a solid player. A player who can play in a number of positions, has a long thronw, 100%-er.
Wouldn't be expensive, if our budget is to be considerably cut then a versatile left footer like Holt wouldn't be a bad signing at all. Not a big name signing, but we are Oldham Athletic, playing at a dilapidated stadium in from of 3000 fans, so what do we expect?
Woah, my post suddenly sounded negative, not meant to be, just realistic.
Akinfenwa would be a good signing.
