  1. Just tried to get to Oldham for a bowls meeting only to find a queue half way down the hill in Grasscroft.  People just don't know how to drive in bad conditions these days.  When I was younger..........

Lots of snow settling with slippery slush on the road but will be gone by lunch time.  Should be on.

Play next round next Tuesday.  Can't find anything in rules to cover circumstances if previous round not yet completed.

  2. Good summary HarryBosch.

If Tope could do the last bit as well as the first we would have won.  Davies did score but that goal was not from open play and we need him to score more from open play.  When I watch him I just feel he is only doing just enough and not really putting himself about - could be carrying an injury I suppose.

The pitch is starting to cut up.

I think the Jewell effect is wearing off in that the team seemed to be more positive.  Trying to win rather than not lose.

Byrne is not the answer.  A fit Doyle, not on the bench for Preston as I was told during the match it was a Boyle, or similar is what we need.  Goals is what we need.

  3. As I have suggested on the takeover thread the problem with registration of players is likely to be financial on the assumption that Abdallah is in some way involved.  What is normally a form filling and document filing formality becomes much more complicated if there is third party involvement.  It could be SCMP but I don't think so.

  4. So we are now on seven out and three not quite in.

I've wondered how they would apply the wages cap in relation to Menig.  No way are we paying him 10k per week without 'someone' refunding a large if not all of his cost.  BUT the wages cap is a percentage of turnover and I assume the refund is regarded as a donation  included in turnover but only a percentage  counts towards the amount we can spend so his playing for us restricts what we can spend on the rest of the squad.

  5. I would like to unvote my Yes because I didn't read the instructions before voting.  I support my club in whatever games they play at home.

I don't like the format of the competition however it is possible that Chelsea have done us all a favour by playing Batshuayi because clearly that is not what was expected or intended.  The invited teams are under 21 (strangely that only means a minimum of 6 of the starting 11 u21[on 30th June]) but under the rules could finish the game with any 8 players from the club over 21 so no rules were broken by Chelsea.  I do however think the competition will run out of favour if an 'under 21' side with members who have played in their clubs first team wins the trophy.

  6. Wonder if Corney has pulled the plug in an attempt to get the EFL to make a decision.

Still can't get my head round the idea that McEleney needs International clearance when he is an EU citizen - well he sounds like he is.  AS is eluded to there seems to be some sort of 'embargo'.  Looks like we might do as well in January as we did in December.

It doesn't look like a transfer embargo to me.  It looks more like Wellens has no more money to spend so has to lose players first.
