Seems very strange, I'm sure if dickov has an ounce of integrity he will walk with them
Don't think you should question his integrity, if he can see where its going wrong, give him a little time it may work out ok, seems to me that this is a joint decision between him and SC, it takes a man to admit you've made mistakes, all hope is not yet lost.

In the olden days I remember a player downing a few liquid energy shots before a game and went on to play a blinder - I don't think whisky is allowed now though.
If i recall rightly i don't think the player in question was 18,but what would you give to have this player in our team now

I just wonder how many people who have posted here took the trouble to read the statement first. The three on gardening leave have been treated fairly by SC because they have the opportunity to look for another job, to discuss severance terms or if they do nothing will eventually have their contracts terminated. I'm sure I saw somewhere that Paul Gerrard does not work here full time so I suspect he has other commitments but is now being asked to step up to assist Dickov. He may be given the choice to go full time or leave. Corney and his board have not lost faith in Dickov they obviously think the team assembled did not work but as I see it Paul has another chance to get it right - I suspect he will have more help in deciding who to appoint and I doubt if we will see a team of five again.
Could be wrong but i'm sure being on gardening leave also means you are not supposed to talk about the situation,i.e. to the press, you would lose any severance pay if found in breach of this.

Who is PD going to hug before tomorrows game?
Perhaps they could hold a raffle the week before each game
-
He said in the 'Chron that his role now was more defensive.
Maybe he just thought ":censored: it, I'll go back to how I used to play"...or maybe Dickov has been staying up late and reading this board.
Have to think if Dickov had been reading this board he would have gone himself this morning, didn't seem to have too many friends on here yesterday. But I suppose he still wont have too many today.

Baxter shouldn't be played as a midfielder. He's about the only player with a goal threat.
Until the mighty Dan Taylor came strolling along with thunder in his boots and a point to prove.

Do we know if the coaches are on a contract?, I would have thought they would just be classed as employees with only PD on a rolling contract?
As employees surely they would still have to sign a contract of employment. Anyway this seems a different way of going about things get rid of everybody bar the manager, it might work only time will tell.

In the cold light of day there is only one logical course of action
Leaving things as they are isn't an option.
That depends on who is making the course, Mr Corney does not seem to deal in logic. "status quo"!

Well said Mark. I totally agree with you. The only thing I would like is for a new fitness coach, sooner rather than later.
Well at least we now know PD subscribes to the OWTB forum masquerading underneath an alias. "Blame it on the fitness coach that'll throw them off the scent for a while. Right where were we, I know, the team for Tuesday lets just stick with the same 11 they,ll never notice".

So glad Dan taylor scored his first professional goal yesterday and i know how Much it means to him. Since day one hes never had a celebration hes one of them lads that every goal means so much to him and you will see in interviews how buzzing he is. Oldham are a great club which have a manager with bags full of knowledge and experience. Dan i believe is loving oldham, loves the fans and is loving the football. Dan gets a couple of goals and he will be scoring for fun. Were all greatfull oldham give him his Chance.
dont mean to be presumptive but sounds like you know the lad, the name might be a bit of a giveaway. If its right what you say thats good to hear, can't be easy for a young lad coming to somewhere new, We all want what's best for the club and right now Dan could give us what we have been looking for, someone who can put away a chance. Hope he does well and enjoys his football.

Maybe because abusing your own manager is pointless and stupid.
As is abusing your own players, it wont make them any better by being hounded for every little mistake. what you hope for is that the manager can see who is performing, who isn't, and act accordingly. unfortunately our manager is too blinkered and naive that it's the same faces, same s**t and same result! Use the forums to voice your displeasure dont abuse them at the match.

Im not a big fan of Smith but i have never questioned his commitment, i suppose he could get better by playing more games and with age, giving him and Taylor a try at Scunny has to be worth a go. I would also start Montano and Croft with Wes and Baxter in centre mid. As for Furman go and pack your sun tan lotion your country needs you.

The Millar substitution was a desperate act by a desperate man who is tactically naive at best. Dont think Millar is the answer would be best to to let him go to another club in January if anyone wants him.

After yesterday i am now in the dickov out camp, keep reading he will attract the better players and him being here means Baxter will stay, but if you cant get them to play as a team or battle when its needed the time for change has come. For me Billy Davies would be ideal but he may prefer being out of work over coming to the s**thole that is Boundary Park

I actually put pen to paper (how old fashioned is that) and wrote to Mr Corney 3 weeks ago, still no reply, just in case he didn,t want to write i included my e-mail address, must be a busy man!

At last we can rejoice, 16th wasn't so bad after all, i mean whats the point of getting all excited about being in the play offs when the world ends Friday, surely Dickov knew that to coincide with the end of Derbyshires loan spell.

I'd pick out Mvoto as the worst today, alright i dont think he has got the best direction with headers but it was like a sherrifs badge. we need to find another centre half he's too much of a liability.

Is there much difference in murdering either jews or Ethiopians seems like they are both racial agendas, if Fascism had succeeded there could well have been no rastafari, imagine a world without the music of Bob Marley, its the only thing to pacify the soul after a :censored: performance.Very much so. The Italian Fascist government was in place 10 years before Hitler, and never had much of a racial agenda. They murdered thousands of Ethiopians granted, but that was sort of expected in the day. They never had much enthusiasm for the rounding up of Jews especially. What they had in common was strongly socialist economics and a strong nationalist appeal.

Well at least he should be on the bench more which could in turn lead him in to making more first XI appearances. At the end of the day he's quite young and not very experienced, so there's no rush to put him in the first team, it would put a lot of pressure on him and hinder his overall performance
Your right he isn't very experienced, but i'd prefer him to the "experienced" Simpson or the simply useless Smith, give youth a try it sometimes brings pleasant surprises.

I should imagine most latics fans will agree with these comments, a true professional, and wherever he ends up playing in the new year we wish him all the best.
-
Got to admit i thought they were coming from the council house to BP then on to Huddersfield, getting to BP about 9.30 but i also struggle with bus timetables the buses never seem to turn up when i think they should!
-
Magic, i think it was Pilot early 70's. (oh yes he is Alan Groves, or you'll never get past Mvoto)
-
We'd end up with that t*****r Sodje

Just ordered it, dead easy

Fair point, perhaps not all his mistakes but certainly Taggart and Butler were mistakes
