  1. This negative talk about LJ is ridiculous. This is his first managerial job. The team started the season pretty well, most of the performances have been way above anything we experienced under Dickov. I think most of us can see that any mistakes we've made have been severely punished and we have had some bad luck. However the real test for LJ is now - keeping the players believing in his methods and getting that next win. I know he is a bit of a flash harry but he's young and I think we should cut him some slack. I am a season ticket holder, I live in Surrey and the last few years the journey north have been a real waste of time but this season I can see real progress. See you at BP on Saturday.

    Lovely post.

I wish there were more posters like you with no agenda. its a real breath of fresh air. Just sick of posters trying to satisfy self inflated ego's but worst of all trolls with self inflated ego's. it might go tits up with the team. Who knows but i like the football much more than in recent years so far and that makes it so much more bearable to handle the defeats when competing on our size of budget and fan base.

  2. Whatever the pronoun " it " refers to which in this sentence you could argue grammatically is the Kilmanock left winger. However that would be incorrect since the winger is male and so " him" would be the correct pronoun . Consequently it is legitimate to expect that the reader could interpret " it" as the place Kilmanock. Sloppy use of subordinate clauses and relative pronouns I agree. Mea culpa....but when in Rome...

    Oh Dear!

  3. Some of my best memories from the old 4th Division, including an 11-0 win.

Me too. The 11-0 verses Southport is the most bizarre match I ever watched. Snow everywhere on the pitch. If I remember rightly I yhink we lost our next match at Southport 7-3???

    Correct me if I'm wrong!

  4. A crappy scrappy win was much needed (well, compared to tamely letting a couple in at the end). Let's hope we can go on and give Donny a taste of what Richard III got on Bosworth Fields.

So you mean treason and dodgy dealings as per usual from sir William Stanley.

It really had nothing to do with any Lancashire and Yorkshire rivalry whatsoever but had a lot to do with the fact that southern nobility didnt like the idea of a monarch whose main support came from across the north of England.

(proudly a member of the Richard III society and proudly a Lancashire lad) (a pet subject on which i get a bit touchy so take no notice ha ha)

  5. There used to be a bit of elitism and a defined "incrowd" that if you were not part of you tended to get stick on this site. A lot of that has gone now. Unfortunately its probably fans we have lost for good. I suppose its better to have the fans and put up with it really but having said that the site has been a lot more civilised of late.

Still think its a good forum and will visit as often as I can.

  6. I just noticed Hartlepool had a crowd of over 5300 against Bury on Saturday (hardly a big draw for them). They generally get very low crowds. It just goes to show what a run of good results can do. If we can keep up the momentum we should do better than that in theory as they historically get considerbly lower crowds than us.

In reality would this be the case?

  7. Tierney to my mind was clearly an excellent player and prospect and I couldn't at the time understand why he was not getting more games. I think to cast doubt on him "buckling down" here is wrong without proof that he wasnt doing his best to get in the team. Sometimes a players face just does not fit with the manager. As soon as he left he made an immediate impact at Shrewsbury and was never out of the first 11.
