Im sure it was one of LJ's pearls of wisdom
Not as good as when he said David Mellor can't run
-
Are we in league one in everything?
Although that does put us in the automatic promotion spots
-
We are slowly getting better with the social media side, we were lagging behind for years
-
I'm chuffed if Dunn is here to play football
I'm a bit pissed if the rumours turn out to be true and he'll be manager come November..
-
Managers who played include George Hardwick and Joe Royle..
-
Somebody says this every year!!!!
I'd say this league is most likely one of the strongest it's been.
Don't think I've ever seen this much money being spent on building squads for third division sides
-
Don't know if I've missed something, but has Anthony gerrard been signed up?
Fits the experienced bill before everyone gets too excited about Dunn..
-
Talk of getting rid is stupid though - he frustrates the hell out of me but he's a good player and will serve the club very well if he stays here most of his career.....
What this guy said
-
''that's because he was playing behind the strikers not on left mid.''
Try reading before you go all out, jesus.
I saw the original point, I just felt that even though he was playing on the left it didn't excuse for misplaced passes and tricks/flicks that went nowhere... If he was to be playing in the middle doing that it could be even more disastrous
-
I believe the coaching staff see him as a centre midfielder....
Sack the coaching staff!
He's a centre half all day long, looks like a lost child when playing in midfield, especially without Kelly present.
-
I didn't go last night, but I think the 4-4-2 was a diamond. Kelly at the bottom, Jones and Winchester on either side and Green at the top.
That's the most valid options with them 3 but then you have Croft and Forte missing out, with a severe lack of width which if I remember rightly Darren Kelly promised.
-
From today's Chron, "The main lesson Kelly will take is that Athletic's players seem far more comfortable in the variation of a 4-4-2 formation they started with. Expect him to repeat the exercise at Carlisle on Saturday"
Please let it be!!!!!!!!
I'd love a 4-4-2 formation as much as anyone else, yet with Kelly, Jones and Winchester I find it hard to believe 3 goes into 2 and one of these will be benched.

Haha, all the people saying George Green wouldn't get in our starting 11 he's a class above and if it wasn't for his previous issues he sure wouldn't be playing for us.
He bossed the midfield yesterday, that's because he was playing behind the strikers not on left mid.
Did you go to Blackburn at home?
Only game I've been too and my opinion couldn't be further from yours.
A reminder he was playing against Halifax yesterday aswell

Don't know how to share tweets on here, but Ian Cheeseman of the BBC I think? Just tweeted something along the lines of "When rumours and gossip don't seem to go away, could Kelly be under pressure already?"
Interesting.

ColemanWhat would you say our strongest starting eleven is?
Brown
Wilson
Dieng (seen as we have nobody else signed)
Mills
Croft
Kelly
Jones
Winchester
Forte
Turner
Subs:
Cornell
Wilson
Green
Cassidy
Poleon
Murphy
Edmundson?
Edit: philliskirk aswell
Really lacking midfield/defence back up options really

Grounds has signed a new deal at Birmingham until 2017...
Done well for himself there..

Absolute bollocks as usual. I'm very optimistic, anyone else?
I'm a relatively happy, optimistic football fan looking forward to the start of a new season.
Then I log on to OWTB
-
Could he have a chance of returning to a Football League club if he wanted it?
Guess so, but he's committed to his three year degree now.
Imagine playing at Droylsden will be easily managed with still attending uni
-
Cooper gave it all up for Uni didn't he?
Captained my uni team to BUCS glory last year
-
This one up front pre season goes against all he has been saying, if it continues just like before goals will be scarce again. Anyone can see George Green on the left wing is an absolute waste. Croft is a good addition though. Don't know whats wrong Cassidy, its a concern we havent seen much of him.
Whats the odds it's Jones who will leave for a fee?
I understand the fact we haven't quite looked like the attacking force Kelly promised during his first few interviews - however I hasten to add what managers wouldn't "promise" this? - the one up front isn't necessarily the problem.
Whilst wanting to avoid a ridiculous comment, a lot of top teams play one up front and manage to score goals..
-
can't believe I've just trawled through 17 pages of this
-
Was quite worried after sitting behind the manager today at how bad a certain George Green is at listening to any instructions or even just sometimes being in the right position defensively...could be a long season with this lad
Obviously bags of ability as we've all heard, but he looked a destined red card a few times after losing it
-
Even if we made season tickets free for the whole season we'd still probably average less than 6,000.
Nothing increases attendances more than success on the pitch, we've been in League One for 18 years of my 20 years.
Enough said.

Football fans in general are far too quick to make judgements.
He just has to prove them wrong.
