The club is a clusterfuck.
But taking anything from the attendance at a charity game for a much-loved dead player is clutching at straws. There’s no need to clutch at straws - the club pretty much whacks it all out there on a plate - use some of that.
It was billed as a charity match some time after the friendly was announced and this was a very rare moment of good intuitive decision making by the trust. A very good cause at that but how much of the gate receipts will see the buckets for the relevant skin cancer charities?

People are unwilling to face the facts that this club is in dire straits and have purchased a season ticket because ‘it’s what we do’.
Does this not demonstrate a total and utter lack of backbone and hence forth adhering to the club’s beliefs and funding Abdallah’s very questionable operation of the football club?
The majority of haters towards my profile are beyond the age of 50, and it is because they are desperate to relieve the past times of this once great football club and pretend that everything is ok. I would like to remind these great custodians of our club that you should not direct your hate at me for pointing out the gaping flaws within our club but that you should be opening your eyes at the cancer that resides within in our once proud football club.

first time I’ve ever agreed with kowenicki...
Of course you would, you and others are desperate for these shenanigans to return to small inaudible murmurs so our club continues at its slow wood rotting progress.
1500 people turned up today, demonstrating that 1500 people are happy for this regime to continue as it is. People will come and attack this and scream but that’s only because they’re uncomfortable with the true reality that lies behind the scenes at BP.
Fire at will old boys

1500 there today. Ffs.

Not only having to HOST Rochdale in a friendly but also getting convincingly beat by them. Ei Ei Eio

I think it’s worth noting that Abdallah now has fans he has wooed with free tickets and a bit of inside information to be his propaganda arm. You’ve got Michael Halliwell and Stephen Partington running a 1.2k member strong facebook group endorsing Abdallah’s ideas to move the football team out of boundary park.
Over on other platforms Rhys Parsons and a few other of the young lads are being invited to club events to help spread that Abdallah is a good and fair owner.
What this man doing is disgusting and is not only conning the people who are blindly following him for a free meal ticket, but he is creating a very damaging divide within the fan base.

Anyone else not arsed? Quicker we go bust and start again the better. My football club has gone and anyone defending him is as equally as damaging as him.

Hands up if you've bought one? And more importantly, why?
A lot more on Twitter who are happy to get season tickets than on here... There are a lot of kids on there though who will be on the U-16 ticket

May as well set your stall out early Kus,got to defend as there is nobody likely to be troubling the oppo keepers.
Think you’re right, he can only work with what he’s been given. We won’t go down but if we finish in the top half i’ll eat my hat.

Those highlights are something else. Playing for a 0-0 in a friendly. You love to see it.

Just after you'd said something along the the lines of anyone who wasn't boycotting was a disgrace.
Lols. It’s ok Dave if you feel bad about buying a season ticket there’s always time to get a refund x

Your issue was with the very use of the word trialist, not where they are from. You’re all over the place as usual.
No. My issue was with the lack of communication (as per) with as to who is training with us and playing for us in Morocco. The amount of trialists that allegedly appeared in the friendly is a lot more than the original bunch that flew out to Morocco.

Its got to the point where you are actively seeking issues where they don’t exist.
This is just more bollocks from you.
Well where have this load of trialists emerged from? The Moroccan sunday league?
-
Noticed a lot of sides are naming their trialists these days, keeping fans updated as to who’s training with them and who’s been released. Us? Haha. Ruled by secrecy as per.

One or two things are bothering me about this pre season compared to last year. Bunn had them training really hard and made us into a very fit team, fitter than most oppositions. I don't know what was done the week before they went to Morocco, or what's been done when the video wasn't on, but they don't seem to have been doing much stamina work. In fact, in that kind of heat it would be difficult. I'm no expert, but maybe some on here know more about this kind of thing than me.
Secondly. Any players signing for us before the season starts, who were released from their previous club at the end of June, have already missed two weeks of pre season (three when they get back from Morocco). This surely has to be a worry, unless they have been trialing with other clubs. Loanees will be fine, as they are training with their clubs.
The planning has been incredibly amateurish. This side is going to be woefully unfit going into the season. Bunn’s sides always kept going until the very last minutes, we’ll fade at 60 at this rate.

Remind us how long your boycott lasted last season at the first sniff of an outside chance of the play offs.
I travelled to Exeter to see us potentially actually do something for the first time in donkeys, but alas they failed as always...

That season ticket number is embarrassingly high. That being said, the whole place is going to be toxic if we have a shite pre-season, never mind bottle the first month.

Cracking start. Clean sheet against a top quality Moroccan side. Still awaiting that 20 a season man and we'll be looking hot.
Quality side? They’re in the 3rd tier in Morocco. An amateur division. It’s embarrassing

No different to any of the previous updates we’ve had over the years. We all know how it goes. Aug-Dec fine Jan-Mar Shite. Apr-may OK

Where can I find the announced friendly fixtures?
I tried looking yesterday, could only find the initial details of the Casablanca game. I would guess we’ll get next to no updates of the game tomorrow...

I loved Alan Groves - figuratively speaking off course! Everytime he got in the area we screamed "dive, dive" from the Chaddy End! My all time favourite Latics player along with the King ... Jim Fryatt.
I'm a lapsed Latics fan from Stretford - although now living in Salford for many years - who followed the team from the mid 60's up to the late 70's and then occasionally afterwards with my last game at Boundary Park being the 3-2 win over Liverpool in the FA Cup some years ago. I've been watching non-league football since the mid 80's and have followed Salford City home and away since 2007 so it's going to be very strange turning up at BP as an away fan. I cherish many wonderful memories of following the Latics particularly as all my schoolmates took the piss out of me but I had the last laugh when WE beat United 1-0 at home in the old 2nd Division and narrowly lost 2-3 at Old Trafford that same season. Our club secretary is a massive Latics fan who followed them home and away for many years and cannot find it in himself not to support you when Salford make the short trip to BP on December 29th! OAFC will always be my first love - and I still have my old scarf and pin badges as well as collecting handbooks/year books - but Salford City will be the team I'll be rooting for when we meet. In an ideal world we'll both be promoted come the end of next season!
Incidentally, If you have an away fan feature in your matchday programme I would be more than happy to contribute.
Ban him.

Whilst we’re at it I would like to add that the camera work on the videos is shocking . Now it could be the camera work or the actual sessions because it seems there is absolutely no structure to what they’re doing.
There has always been, and will continue to be a divide in the changing room between the British lads and AL’s lads. It was at its worst when we got relegated, the two groups wouldn’t speak to each other. Bunn and Rhodes got things going again but with a French manager in I can see the British lads becoming the minority in the group. You can hear in the videos there is absolutely no effort to enforce the English language, even instructions are given in French and then English.
