Bromley (3rd) and Barnet (2nd) move straight to a home semifinal so they can't benefit anymore than that.

    Normally;

    4th plays 7th

    5th play 6th

For me Alty (4th) should get the bye and play Bromley away for a place at Wembley and Solihull (5th) should host Halifax (7th) with the winner playing Barnet away.

Saying that this is NL so anything is possible.

BBC confirm Altrincham get the bye and Solihull play Halifax.

Somebody mentioned recently we were in line for RB Dan Pike.  Don't  know much about him.

I  know MM likes a left-footed CB and Jordan Turnbull is out of contract. MM also signed midfielder Chris Merrie from Wigan and his deal is also up.

All will be revealed., but we are entering that time of year when the rumour mill gets into full swing. Can't wait!

Best time of the year. Definitely better than when the football restarts on the evidence of the last 30 years!

Think the point is the season ticket money is what they'll gauge to budget for the season. If nobody bought them or there was a drastic drop I'd imagine that would affect recruitment in the summer

The point being we all like to comment on the strength or otherwise of the squad and expect the owners to continue to cough up. If I was Frank I would be seeing season ticket sales as one of the indicators of the strength of support and MAY influence the budget, and we therefore should be willing to contribute ourselves where possible - accepting that for various reasons a season ticket is not suitable for all supporters.

I don’t expect to see Norwood, Dallas, McGahey, sheron, green, hope,  hobson, Hudson next season.

Hudson cannot be included with the rest of them today - he kept us in the game and while his distribution isn’t the best he’s a better keeper than most of that team deserve! Maybe the only positive from Unsworth?

Hobson is going backwards after seemingly being a cracking signing, and Norwood has to start unless there’s a fitness issue.

We are so lacking in width that even with Norwood on the pitch we are incapable of creating anything.

    Very depressing!!

Just one shot (off target) according to BBC Radio Surrey!

Before the match the strikers of both teams were ‘practicing’. The Aldershot players were all striking the ball as if they meant it, had the majority on target, and the majority of those went in. The Latics lot were half hearted, missed the target on every single shot except one.

One team were up for this and one weren’t.

Thought we played ok today and comfortably looked the better team.

Freeman gave us much better balance (once the rustiness lifted)

    I wouldn't change that back 4 now.

We need a forward like Nuttall but better.

We need a winger like Green but better.

Hope wont lose his spot in this team now, been impressed with him.

Unlucky not to win that. On to the next !

Provided Freeman is fit enough, three of the back four are sorted. Then perm one more from Hogan, Raglan, McGahey, Sutton…….
Raglan must have expected to step in today, but he is considering his future now surely? I’d have been happy to see him and Hobson today, but he’s obviously not impressed the manager yet!

It wasn’t awful- I’ve watched far far worse than that.

But was it was frustrating- should’ve been two up inside ten minutes, and missed two great chances.

Just watch their first goal back, Lundy watches their player go past him, makes a little Jog- with no intent- he crosses-  goal. I thought he was really poor today.

We got a really good equaliser that was really well worked, and then they get an absolute freebie off the ref.

Second half we pressed well for the opening ten 10/15 minutes then sat off, and didn’t create much despite nearly all the possession. Then Sheron pops up with a wonder strike.

It’s a game we could and should have won quite comfortably.

    Pros.

They’re some neat passages of play and we we look a threat at times going forward.

    Sheron was terrific.

Hobson is a monster who won’t be here long.

Freeman- while not amazing, was 5 million times better than Sutton at right back, especially going forward and giving us the overlap.

The squad isn’t amazing but such is the shite of this league it’s still very possible to finish top 7 especially with a couple more.

    Cons.

Our build up is terminal at times, we had loads moments today to find the forward pass, and it gets dragged back- sometimes as far as the keeper, killing the tempo and giving them 3 days to get back into shape. It needs to be much quicker.

Lundy is not the level I thought he was going to be - he’s very average and Sheron was far better than him today.

But the biggest by far - Joe Nuttall needs moving on. I’m sick of watching him jump near the ball, to make it look like an attempt but is actually nowhere near it. When he is near a player he shrinks when he jumps, and I’m sick of watching him get bossed off the ball for a man of his size. He does not compete, and we carried him today. He is nowhere near good enough.

Very good summary, agree with all of this.

Lundstram was largely anonymous, but I think it was him that worked hard to retain and create in the build up to the first goal?

The thing for me is that the manager has so few options despite our large squad - Gardner would probably be useful, but other than him I can’t see how he could have improved on the starting lineup or changed it in-game.

    Wow that's some observation 🤣🤣🤣

Can’t say we controlled the game, especially after only getting a draw, but we were definitely the better team today.

Mind you, my previous games this season were Southend, Chesterfield, Bromley and Wealdstone, where we were easily second best in all four, so maybe I’m just seeing things in comparison to that!

  9. We were the better team by far, and Nathan Sheron deserved MOM. But we are SO ponderous and lacking incisiveness. Green probably has to play as we have no alternative, but especially in the first half he was given and wasted at least three decent opportunities. A draw at home will never be a good result, but that penalty decision was a joke and with a better outlet from the wing we would have won today.

I couldn't make today's game, but I reckon I wouldn't have known who they are, chances are they only attend certain away games where they can "fuel up" and have "a bit of a ruck". Doesn't only give the club a bad name but also tends to tar all supporters with the same brush.

I wasn’t there today either, though I was at Chesterfield and that was no doubt the same individuals. I did listen to the BBC radio Manchester commentary though and I was ashamed to be associated with this behaviour. Do you remember when we were everyone’s second favourite team?

As for the commentary, for a local derby (and therefore responsible for BOTH teams), they did seem to have sympathies and enthusiasm for the home team!

Until they are identified they we will keep coming back for more, it's frustrating knowing it will happen time and time again.

This is not the 1980s - with all the technology available today surely these moronic cretins who claim to support our club in such a negative and embarrassing fashion can be identified and prevented from attending another game until they can behave (ie, ever!). These are likely the same idiots that will be calling out the players and manager as soon as we don’t win a game.

If the police and club cannot pick them out then they need to be ‘outed’ by genuine supporters who know who they are - before we all suffer the consequences!
