4 spare spots and not even hothered to put a young keeper on the bench, pathetic thinking Sheridan

According to Matt Chambers and Radio Latics (Or what ever it's called) Players with drawn just before the trip across through injury. Unsure about Duffus though. Nothing on him.

  2. Holloway lacks support. He's played up front on his own he needs a player to run off him, Davies won't do that. Tope would, or even the young lad Fawns. Not seen enough of Duffus yet.

Ollie Banks- I just can't warm to him. I don't really know what he does to be honest. He has no work rate, no ability to tackle can only pass if he's smacking it 40 yards with Hollywood explosions going off (In his head) as he does it, doesn't head the ball because it will ruin his fringe, no thought put into his corners just hit and hope. He's playing in a position where he needs to be the engine of the team. He can't do that job. He needs benching. I'd play Fane in there instead or new signing which hopefully will appear soon.

I know you can't contain him but do you think that interview follows a quiet word from the board after the last interview?

Yes absolutely. He's definitely been told to rein it in or been given a seditive before he goes on! I also think if he went on another massive rant it would have made him completely vulnerable to ridicule in completely lost the players. He still alludes to needing new players but surely even Corney can see that now. We lost against a good team today, time to move on and tighten up for Pool on Saturday.

Sheridan can't seem to find the magic to create a team from the start. He seems to be very adept at turning a flailing team around when there is very little pressure on himself, of course - in those situations he has nothing to lose. However in contrast, he doesn't do so well under pressure when the responsibility is his.

The thing is he's not fully starting from fresh here is he? He still has a strong core of his best players from last year barring a GK. He's brought in similar players already that he usually signs when the panic button has been pressed because we were struggling. We've played two decent sides. We just haven't properly kicked on yet IMHO.

  5. Has to be bollocks surely? I can't see a manager who battled to keep us up last season who had some great results on that run with a couple of additions and hard work, being told he has no future here.

We've heard nothing but whispers of a take over but nothing concrete has ever come from it. Shez' post match interview style has always sounded downbeat even when we've won so I wouldn't read too much into that. I'd also say he's probably pissed off that he knows what the team needs to be a good side but hasn't yet managed to bring in the right players for those roles.

I just can't see this being true.

    Not sure on this.

For those that came week in and week out, we are all sure what an important player Conor is for the team and our chances this season.

To the floating fan, its just a goal-keeper.  No matter how good they are, they are never the type of player to get bums on seats.

Therefore IF they have got Conor Ripley lined up, I think him being announced at the game tomorrow would be a massive boost to the supporters / atmosphere who are there tomorrow. Staying in this hypothetical world, what is the latest that it would become apparent tomorrow?  What time are official team sheets available?  Matt Chambers tweets the line-up at 14:00 with TBC as number 1 and Ben on the bench?

It would certainly cause a stir if your idea at 2pm, keeper as TBC but could also work the other way if it's not Ripley and drain any positive atmosphere. It's certainly a fan relations nightmare if it's someone who we weren't expecting.

I'm still not convinced that Sheridan has given up on Ripley...

Me either. It just seems odd that he's been banded about to loads of clubs by the media for over a week, yet not signed for any of those clubs yet. Ripley, and Midds very quiet o  the matter. Must mean something going on behind the scenes somewhere.
