Paul Murray got arrested with Allan smart if I remember?
-
That's some serious maths with a hell of a lot of assumptions.
But I still wish I'd have bunged a couple of quid on it in 1997
-
Tbh im not massively bothered about any of them resigning with the exception of Wilson who was a key man as the season went on
-
Over the coarse of a season yu will need at least 3 strong centre half's. He needs to prove himself when he gets the chance because it will come at some point.
Not a chance he will get ahead of gerrard and clarke any other way other than injuries to either one of them
-
These are the sorts of players we remember 30 or 40 years down the line. Inevitably if you pick a best 11 from the league 1 era it will undoubtedly include well ensure Baxter clarke and other in this thread.
However, while I agree we could use a midfielder of this ilk along side holloway and clarke in the first 11 I think too many would be detrimental

Harbin would get my vote he was the key behind Dowies success. Is it true he has been to games? First I've heard
-
Would they in the prem though?
-
How about getting coleman in on loan if Huddersfield go up? I'd be happy with that if re signing Ripley didn't come off.
Just a thought
-
The guy is destined for the premier league. I'd love him to be back here, I really would but it feels like we are holding him back if we keep him another year.
The only way we are going to keep him is if we show real intent for a promotion push in the transfer market to get him a bit of silverware but is that likely given our current predicament? Highly doubtful.
Thanks for everything you have brought to the club Connor. Now go grab yourself the career you trully deserve
-
Tbh it's gunna be tight between those 2 but there really isn't a point putting any other names up for it.
Ripley shades it for me though
-
Do you not get more money for finishing higher though? And a good end to the season would send us into summer happy. Sod the kids I say. Go for it. Give Edmondson and the kid from sat a shot from the bench but that would be my limit
-
I'd keep him if he is cheap enough. He's never going to bag 20 a season but he is the player you want on to close a game out when winning 1-0.
Has a touch of Matt Smith in him in that defenders haven't a clue how to play against him
-
So what's the aim?
It's testament to Sheridan and all the players that it's not completely beyond the realms of possibility that we could yet secure a top half finish, however unlikely.
I would like to think a final spot of 14th is more realistic and the games we have left are winnable against teams with not a great deal to play for
-
Sparta kits have been the best for me in the last 20 years in this godforsaken league.
-
He's proving himself to be useful. Reminds me a lot of Matt Smith in a lot of ways. For me he is the same player as holloway and if we can get a decent "little" to holloways "large" erwin would always be on the bench.
I'd take him if he was cheap enough but he probably won't get the game time the wage he will ask for justifies

What's good for the goose is good for the gander
We moan when bury and rochdale don't give us enough tickets but want to lock bolton fans out of a half empty stadium.
I say let them have it. Be a proper money spinner and it'll be all the sweeter beating them in front of 6000 bolton fans and postponing their promotion a little while longer
-
I was born in 84 and just about saw the pinch me/premiership years although I couldn't really talk about them from personal experience.
I'm probably the hardest done by sort of fan. I was introduced when we were good and was given the impression it would always be this good as a young and nieve youngster. Little did I know I got hooked that it would turn out to be so awful.
-
Everton won the fa cup under big Joe in 95 I think
-
I've always been negative towards Corney, well for 4 or 5 years at least. Will has always shot me down not just on here but in person and has defended the club to the hilt.
He isn't an optimist, nor a pessimist. He Is a realist who considers facts before speaking. If he is speaking there is a reason he is doing so and a genuine reason to be concerned.
Such a message is hard to deliver in the written form
-
We play better against teams who need the points tho. Tbh that game don't effect us we play who we play. It's what we do that counts
-
I don't think 50 will be needed either mathematically but can see us being comfortable
-
Personally think it's him just having a look at him in and around the squad. More to international football than just 90 mins on the pitch.
If he is shocking in training it might well be his last call up but if he impresses he will no doubt get games in future
-
Port Vale lose one more of the 2games in hand and it's back in our hands with the better goal difference
-
Thank God we have the third best defence in the league.

Don't really think our pitch or league position plated into his hands and probably contributed to me not really rating him as highly as the pedigree he cane with but good luck to him and some great comments there
