TP says they are a bit thin on the ground for players, and they have had to get permission to take 15 year olds Andrew Crompton and Leroy Chinthengah out of school for the day so they can play. The squad was travelling this lunchtime on the first-team coach and will have a pre-match meal at the Marriott Hotel in Gateshead before travelling to St James’ Park for the game. It will be great experience for Latics youngsters as Newcastle are top of the FA Premier Academy Under-18s League.
