Shez team selections

Recommended Posts

Afraid a lot of tonight was down to poor team selection by Shez.

He has got to learn to change a winning side and adapt to the opponents.

A weak Stockport side was brushed aside easily. Scunny wern't going to do that and Shez should have changed a winning side to compete.

I am not blaiming any player individually but we must start learning that we can't play the same side away as we do at home.

1/ Lomax - currently having a poor run with loss of confidence and Eardley should have been back.

2/ Whittaker doesn't get involved away from home and Maher should be in especially if you are going to play with 2 wide men . You need a more solid midfield. Whits could provide the impact from the bench.

3/ Windass - another player who should be on the bench for away matches. You need fit players capable of stretching their defence and Windy wont do that.

4/ Why is Liddle on the bench instead of Davies. What impact does he have when he comes on and why wasn't Davies there to give the option of stretching them with a bit of pace.

To accomodate Liddle tonight he put Taylor in midfield and Smalley out left !!!!!!!

Although the damage was done in the first half he didn't change it tactically in the second although they did play better (or was that because Scunny took the foot off the gas ?? ).

It was like roles reversed from the BP game and they were up for it far more than us.

Come on Shez think about team selction for away games better or promotion will just end up a another play off failure.

Dunno about that really. Lomax has done well the last couple of games, Whittaker scored a cracker at the weekend, Windass setup all three goals. Liddell probably had our best chance of the night. To be just changing 3 of the team because it's an away game is a bit much.

Performance wasn't good enough, they clearly wanted it more and they were the better side. We spanked them at home just a couple of months back. Surprised not to see Davies on the bench.

Exactly my point -

all those things you mentioned above were at HOME.

They can't do it away because the opposition push you back more , like scunny who are a big strong side.

Changes have to be made for away games to adapt to the opposition ,there is nothing wrong in changing the side for home and away matches.
