They ordered the crowds back from the 10.20pm service to Leeds, via Mills Hill, just as fans poured out of the Arena where popular comic Michael McIntyre had been performing. The crush was made worse by the increased demand caused by the closure of the Oldham loop line and work on platform two of the station which has been cordoned-off by metal barriers. Security guards kept crowds back in the foyer of the station until the train arrived. But the two carriages quickly filled up and police had to step in to prevent people trying to force their way on board. About 100 passengers were forced to wait for the last train of the night, an hour later. doesnt suprise me one bit i was at the arctic monkeys gig on the saturday and it was exactly the same. we could see there was going to be chaos as soon as we got out of the arena so went for a bus. the first masters we were in was bad eough now with one less line for people to use its going to be worse. what happened to the extra services they were puttin on to make up for it? Besides, taxi's are not cheap and a bus would take about as long as your wait anyway.
