Takemeanywhere
Let's not let the truth get in the way of knocking our illustrious neighbours, eh. The default for United ST holders is that they will be sent (and debited for) cup tickets. But they can quite easily opt out of buying any cup ticket by contacting the club. Yes the fact you have to opt out is cynical, but it isn't as if ST holders are forced to buy cup tickets if they don't want them - that would be illegal. Any United fan who tells you otherwise is lying, probably in the hope you'll buy their League Cup 3rd Round ticket... The opt out only relates to the League Cup. Season ticket holders are debited for Champions League and FA Cup and no opt out is possible and therefore what you describe as illegal, is what is happening. Takemeanywhere
? The United season ticket holders I work with (five of the b*stards). You agree to those debits when you purchase the season ticket.

outoftheblue
Buy a car from us and we'll debit you for £20 worth of petrol every other week whether you need it or not, otherwise no deal and you'll have to go somewhere else for your BMW*. Just wouldn't happen would it? *This analogy in no way infers that Utd are of superior quality than most rivals. In actual fact, it was a dig at the fans, and BMW in this case stands for Bandwagoning Manchester W*nkers.
