martjs
Peter Taylor's Bradford win at Rochdale. Is that one of those shocks that just are part and parcel of the season? I remember when we lost to bottom club Hull in our "championship" winning season. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/e...v_3/8497096.stm
slurms mckenzie
Surprising result; but Bradford will come back up eventually though I'm sure - not so sure about Rochdale, who seem to blow it every season. Just looked at the table - looks like Chesterfield are climbing the table; would be funny to Shez and co beat Dale at Wembley :-) Edited February 23, 2010 by slurms mckenzie
Yard Dog
When will 'dale's attendances start to rise ? 3,055 there tonight apparently of which a few hundred will have been Bradford fans.

Yeah, there was a few hundred Bradford. They usually bring about 1500 over but they were nowhere to be seen. Probably too busy running about Whitworth Road shouting "ointment - mental" like in previous years Not sure why attendances havent picked up but a cold tuesday night is hardly going to have people rushing to Spotland. Especially when the red :censored:e were on the box. Poor performance from 'dale. Just never got going. 15 games to go (well from 'dales pov anyway) 8 points clear of 4th. 16 points clear of 8th. Hardly worth panicking about. Especially seeing as Bury, Rotherham and Shrewsbury all dropped points. Chesterfield have Crewe away wednesday night. That'll take them to having played one more game than 'dale. Then there's Notts County who have three games in hand, even if they manage to win those they're still 5 behind 'dale. Still loads of teams at the top to play one another, so teams will be dropping points all the time. Being top or near the top of the league doesn't always lead to big increases in attendances. When we were in the top 3 all season in the old 2nd Div (1986-87 season) our attendances didn't increase much. It was the cup runs and media exposure (combined with Italia 90 and all that) that brought the crowds in.
