Eric Nixon for Tranmere - in a cup tie I think, made some miraculous saves.

 

Which one? He ALWAYS had a stormer against us!

Taylor for Wycombe was unreal - the guy was superhuman. I remember Allott picking out the top corner with his best hit of the season, and the guy grew about 6 inches and made it to tip the ball round the corner - I was gutted. Best performance by an opponent at BP, and Latics fans showed a bit of class when they gave the guy a standing ovation on the way off, which he appreciated if I remember rightly.

 

All I remember was a large Latics contingent chantinf F*** O** Taylor by the time he'd made his 27th wonder save of the night!

Andy Gorton in a fa cup tie at Everton, think we lost 2-1 that night but he was superb.

 

Was gonna mention this one actually, (Gorton) he was awesome away at the Champions of England!

 

 

 

 

Remember Big Nev having a fantastic game when they mugged us 2-0 in a Littlewoods Cup replay in '88.

 

Andy Rhodes was wonderful the night we beat Arsenal

 

Sutton had a great game at Wembley for Forest

 

Coton was magnificent the night City scraped past us 1-0 in 92/93

 

Seaman had a stormer in a 0-0 PL Draw in '93

 

Remember a Paul Tomlinson wonder show against Birmingham in the late 80s.

 

Budgie had a great game NYD '91 before the unfortunate last second og!

 

Jon Hallworth at Sheff Wed was amazing that day
