Horlicks
Hi, hoping I can get some advice because I am rubbish at the techie stuff. My laptop recently died so I have got a new one but my question is if I plug my i-pod into it will i-tunes wipe all the songs I have added from my CD collection from it and if so is there any way round it other than having to add all my cd's to my new laptop. Cheers Chris.

Cheers Chris. First thing it will do is ask to load purchases onto your laptop from your ipod - let it do that. A good way to back your purchases from itunes up. Then it will try and sync with the library on your laptop, uncheck that box or cancel the sync, that's the only way I know round it. If it's an ipod touch the ipod will let you cancel the sync. If it's an older one you'll have to eject your ipod once it appears in the itunes menu in itunes - just click on your device and eject it…. BUT if you want to sync it, it will include wipe your ipod and load only those items within your itunes - unless you go through the advanced menus and ask it sync only 'checked' items' BUT I think that again will wipe your stuff….I know there are programmes out there, but I'm fooked if know how to use them. I'm sure the nerds will be along soon enough….. Failing that its the old CD loading…a reet pain in the arse...
