  1. No your the one on here trying to defend richardson and tell us what a good manager he is, you tell us, if he is such a great manager, why did chesterfield opt for hiring John Sheridan as opposed to renewing Lee Richardsons contract?

For those interested Bunn's interview is tomorrow and he's hoping to know the outcome by Friday.

  2. Not to mention that whilst still technically contracted to Cov' he's waiting on a new manager coming in who he may or maynot see eye to eye with...

Bunn is no longer at Coventry and direct from his wife, he's been in talks and put his name in the frame.

  3. Merged.

Not having a go at you here, Andy, but one part of your post stood out. We now have enough in the pot to sack Penney, but according to some we're on the brink of administration and can expect huge cuts in the playing budget next season.

    Things just aren't adding up.

Like i said not got the time to scroll through really and only posted what i have been told by Bunn's best mate.

True or not i don't know but wouldn't surprise me and he has no reason at all to tell me bull s**t!

Things don't add up but tbh that's typical Latics.

  4. Not got time to scroll through all the topics but just been told from one of Frankie Bunn's best mates who i work with that Latics now have enough in the pot to pay Penney off and the new Management team will consist of :

    Nicky Butt

Frankie Bunn (Now sacked from Cov)

Andy Rhodes (Currently at Sheff Wed)

  5. He just seems to have no confidence at all at the moment. Today for example - always sideways or back rather than forwards when he got the ball. He's a winger that seems to have forgotten how to take people on.

First touch was also shocking today - you could see his value dropping by £25000 everytime he got on the ball.......

Bloody hell so we'd be payin someone else to take him off us then?!

    Over-rated!

  6. Just the usual sour grapes.

If he can't see that they were comprehensively outplayed and were flattered by the 2-1 scoreline then he is deluded and a bigger tool than he sounds.

Sometimes you have just got to admit you were beaten by a better team on the day, it's called humility.

Was sat fairly close to the dugout and he was a first class wayne kerr! Expected 6 mins to be added on at the end and went mad at the 4th official for literally every foul that was given. What a tool he was!!

  7. I am quite prepaed to eat humble pie and apologise to you about this if you are proved correct - but I find it very difficult to believe.

Fair enough i'll await your apology but the scout trains my team and his words were that its already a done deal to which i said well if he wants to go then let him go and he said "you'll be annoyed though when you hear the fee"

No doubt it'll come out as undisclosed!

  8. Really, Really can't get my head around fans booing a player in a pre season friendly - beyond belief. Not only any player, but currently our most decorative with Int caps, regardless of who for, a good young footballer who like many, is far from perfect and makes mistakes and makes wrong decisions, though a very good full back at this level - the guys booing should be completely ashamed and if they had anythig better to do with their lives should go and well do it and feck off from BP.

Eardley to Blackpool is a done deal. He wants to go cos they are x4 his wages.

We wanted 225k but Blackpool won't pay more than 175k so we've accepted.

Source : Blackpool scout who was there on Saturday checking out his fitness!!

  9. Met him in the Glasgow Hilton a couple of years back after a Celtic/Hibs match and was very surprised at how pleasant he was given the bad boy image that seemed attached to him. He talked about the game and happily traded views about individual performances on the day. When i told him i was a Latics fan, he amazed me with how much he knew about us. Apparently he occasionally roomed with Andy Linighan who told him of happy days at BP.

Anyone who boots a City player will always do for me!!

All the best John, agree with FMS in that i've always wanted someone like him at Latics.

  10.

    (I think) it's a fact.

No doubt it's partly due to me being stripped of a particular liberty and thus be driven into frequent contact with a criminal underworld that I, and no doubt many others, would otherwise avoid.

Firwood Park is still a nice area and better not become known as the 'ghetto' like other parts of Chadderton haha

  11. I think the question is:

What is the point in loaning out your top goal scorer when you are pushing for a play off place....only to release them at the end of the season and then resign them again.....???

Probably something to do with the fact Hughes said back in Jan that he wasn't signing a new deal, we loaned him out to save money, he runs his contract down, gets no offers from elsewhere then if rumoured comes back to see if he can get a deal which we offer on our terms rather than his.

** I must say though i'd be extremely surprised if we signed him again. I suspect he's more than likely pickin up the rest of his stuff and sayin his goodbyes.

  12. rumours on Total Tranmere are

    • About to enter administration
    • something has happened behind the scenes in the last 48 hours
    • John Barnes and McAteer to be appointed

Apparently they can expect news on Tuesday with regards to a manager.

I wonder what the little jerk Ian Moore will do now. Hopefully they will withdraw the contract offer and he ends up driving a bus in to a brick wall!

  13. Stam won't be getting a new deal following talks with his agent.

Cheers for your efforts and all the best in your future career!

Cheers for all efforts, right decision to release him imo. Although not very professional from Stambo to not even turn up to the meeting!

  14. Yeah, you're right mate this summer should finally see a little bit of common sense returning to the at least the lower leagues, this is why despite some big-names in League One next season will see a much more level playing field in terms of personnel on the pitch. Norwich, Charlton and Southampton will not be able be afford large squads with all three relying on youth this season. Leicester were a one off, they kept their squad together and added quality loanees from the prem all young and hungry whilst having two of the outstanding 'old heads' in the backbone of their team in Oakley and Howard.

Even Leeds are in for a bit of a shock when their promotion bid inevitably goes tits up,:pray: they too will have to cut their cloth accordingly albeit a much larger piece.

Personal opinion for what its worth is Wolfy will never make a good pro footballer whilst i've got a hole in my arse, i bet when defenders see him they know there in for a cushy afternoon, i really don't know whether he'd make my sunday league side or not! Stam is not as good as a lot make out, watch his actual play, he hoofs the ball 90% of the time so how people say he's a 'footballing centre half' is beyond me. If anyone noticed, Hazell started to do the same second half of the season too. Lomax can go for me, another one who i don't think is as good as a few on here make out. Gregan i'd of kept as he was our best player by far last season and has been most of the time he was here. Whits i'd tell him he's free to find another club or at best be kept as a squad player. Maher i was always expecting to leave. Allott i think will leave although i'd keep him as our holding midfielder if we can bring in a ball player. Kalala well that one was obvious as with Hughes.

So imo 2 bad moves look to have been made up to yet, Gregan going and Wolfy being offered a contract (no matter how small) but its all down to who DP now brings in!

  15. are you the guy who walks around with spiky hair and big army boots on :D that guy is a legend

People saying he was a billy big bollox in the dressing room etc, well that's not what was said by a fair few youngsters who said he's the first person they all turn to when they need help etc or Greegs has just approached them to offer advice. With regards to his bollockings then anyone who actually plays football will see what a good skipper he is/was. First rule of football anything said on the field or in the changing rooms is left there after the game and its forgotten about.

Anyways, good luck Greegs, i have a feeling its a decision we'll regret.
