  1. Although the Chron report doesn't make it absolutely clear, this does look like a case of the morning after the night before which I'm sure many of us on this site have been guilty of in the past.

I'm not making excuses here because we're all well aware of the dangers of driving the morning after a belly full and as a pro footballer he should know better than most.

I was just thinkin the same, everybody jumpin on it and am not defending him but it could just be the mornin after a heavy night which am sure most on here have done (except H2O Paddy) lol

  2. No better or worse than anyone else on Saturday IMO, and if you take the season as a whole so far he has been one of our better players. So don't see why he should be singled out. If we are talking doughnuts, we know who ate all them don't we!!!!!

And was still sat in the changing rooms 25 mins after most had got changed and left on Saturday, spewin over his and the teams performance. Apparently he's the most determined player that one of our other senior players has ever come across.

Like has been said Greegs has been one of our best performers this season and makes the odd mistake like the rest of the team but every single one of them was garbage on Saturday no exceptions!

  3. Rarely wrong chron wrong again

Gregan not the only player to be banned. Think the chron forgot about the antics of a certain mr davies vs rochdale that caused him to miss 3 games.

I know its only petty but youd expect the friggin local paper to get that right!!!!

In a way i hope all 3 pick up a yellow on Saturday, that way they only miss the cup game (league is more important) and it'll give Maher, Davies and Stam/Byrne a chance in the Cup!

  4. Be fair Aspin, it was the most blatant yellow you are likely to see.

It was blatant and a stupid foul from Hughes, you could see it comin the second he didn't get the free kick he thought he deserved.

I know mistakes are made but how the hell did we not get a corner when Allott had that shot in the second half which took more of a deflection than the one for Lewi's goal?!

  5. You wont see the best of him until he is getting towards the end of his loan.

Hopefully we will keep him longer.

Can't possibily be match fit has he hasn't played first team football this year !!

My mate was there on his medical and he said that he's really unfit. When i asked if he'd start at Leicester he said he shouldn't and if he did then he'd last a maximum of 45 mins. He did go on to say that he's quality and everything he hit in trainin flew in the back of the net!!

  6. Handle a crowd? You mean when there's only twenty people in the place when Crewe are in town. Certainly couldnt handle that cup game with Huddersfield, Doncaster, etc.

Sav. The Landlords still the same ciddy fan. He got ribbed to peices when United won the league and City's score kept flashing up on the screen. 8-0 *chuckle*. He's rarely seen tho. It's saving grace is that the Barmaids are the best locally by a mile.

I'd have to disagree with that last comment Rocky :)

  7. went down to the club shop to sign it on Saturday at 12:25pm, only to find the shop closed. Wont be able to get back there now before next Sat due to working in Manchester, so wont be able to sign it. :disappointed:

Don't suppose there is any chance of pickin it up Saturday, give some people a chance to get down Saturday morning is there? Would prefer to write the message myself than have to relay it if possible!

  8. So very sad and cruel. Can't add much more than what's already been written and said other than I don't think I will meet anyone nicer in my life than Ernie was. A true gent, a free spirit and with a smile that I'll never forget. I think myself and many others will have to fight back the tears at Spotland when we play next month as a full stadium sings "One Ernie Cooksey" in rememberance. As fans, it'll be the closest we'll be able to come to saying our goodbye.

Take care Ernie! You'll always been remembered!

    Very true.

The word Legend is used far to easily imo but Ernie was a true legend!

My thoughts go out to Louise and all the family.

R.I.P. Ernie, you will never be forgotten!

    Heartbroken

  9. I would imagine the block mentioned was block 109 or one of the nearest to it. It's right behind the goal and is traditionally the MEN home end!!! Or it was for the Ice Hockey back in the day anyway.

I can't wait - what a way to spend my last Saturday as a single man - out on the lash with the lads watching Latics old boys!

Really lookin forward to it, any talk of Palmer bein there is dreamland imo.

We have a mini bus goin from the Rifle Range so should be a good day out.

  10. I really can't see this happening and in view of Nervous Tic's comments regarding his fitness at Burnley I would have major reservations about the whole thing.

Don't think it'll happen but a forward line of Hughesy and Cole in this division would be quality. Think he'd still bag 20 + for us. Think he'll choose Donny or Leeds.
