Terrible news. Obviously didn't know him personally but on the pitch seemed like a wholehearted and committed player who always gave his best. Thoughts are with him and his family.

Absolutely gutted about this news. What a top player with limited ability, never gave up and certainly shows up some of the billy big balls footballers that are about these days with his superb attitude. Remember him speakin to myself and roam once at the petrol station on broadway just after leavin latics, what was meant to be a quick hello turned into over an hours long chat stood at the petrol pumps lol. Also remember many stories from Ernie ona regular basis in tara leisure.

All the Best Ernie your a top bloke and am sure you can beat this. Think t-shirts for both Ernie and Gary Kelly would go down well and i'd certainly by them.

I've stated on this board a few times that I'm not sure if Smalley is up to the first team yet. BUT, I've never seen him play as an out and out striker, I say give him a try up there against Udders, I may have based my opinion on just seeing a player playing out of position.

Was very good when he was put up top in the second half against Leeds, destroyed their defence although i don't know if they turned up that day! I think Davies and Smalley is our best option available for tomorrow. Maybe bring Alexandra off the bench at some point.

Thats two jumped up little gob:censored:es Leeds have now then. As i've said many times, never wanted him back here after all the alledged problems he caused in the dressing room. I'm sure Shez won't panic and bring the RIGHT guy in for the club. NK isn't that guy imo, 1 good game in 5 is not good enough, at least we might be able to take set-pieces now as Taylor put some belting balls in from corners and free-kicks in pre-season. NOt bothered in the slightest, the lad was over-hyped in 04/05 and even more so this season.

You can for me, am not bothered to be honest. I've been Captain for most teams i've played for but would rather take a step back on this one. As long as i get a game and we give them a game then all is ok, don't wanna be walkin away as the Losers!
